All undergraduates (UG) who set aside research for faculties and professionals are not only missing interesting moments in their graduation, but also fail to grab the extra bit of information which will assist them in their career. Formal education is an integral part of learning but research experience gives hands on experience which class room coaching fail to deliver. These activities not only enhance technical skills but also develop vital life skills like team work, communication skills and problem solving ability. The style of project submission and reviewing gives the student an overview on industrial product development cycle. A Humanitarian Technologies lab established in our institution gave us ample opportunity to work with projects which benefit human life. In this paper we present the research work we carried out in pulse oximeter design and implementation, and thereby bring out the UG research experiences - benefits, challenges, knowledge developed, expertise acquired etc.

We propose a model for automatically scoring short textual responses in e-learning content. Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques are used to extract syntactic and semantic structures from the content, which are used to build the model. The proposed approach is planned to be implemented in Adobe Captivate - a popular end-to-end e-learning tool.

Security is highly challenging in today's world. A country may face lot of problems due to security such as military applications, vehicle theft. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is the next technology to improve the security. RFID technology is applied in national defense, Medical, Human Identification, for tracking stable and moving objects. A small RFID Tag and the Reader have Contribute their service for security. In this paper, we give a small study on RFID technology and its working of RFID system. A comparative study made on different attacks on RFID system and the recovery methods are described in detail. This article will suggest a direction for research to recover from the RFID Tag attacks and damage problem.

The real classroom conditions are very challenging for the teachers and administrators because of having the diversified students with and without special needs in an inclusive classroom. It seems like the different colours of flowers in a single flask. To tackle the individual differences and to maximize the educational achievement of the every student it becomes necessary to upgrade the educational programs and course content in accordance with the diversified classroom situations. Diversified courseware technology honours the individual difference and satisfied the specific educational need of each student. Diversified Courseware technology enhances self-learning to students, teachers and trainers with the help of diagrams, animation, assessment tools, teaching notes and exercises. It has been observed that the usage of computer learning and courseware technology in education system has increased dramatically since its inception. The time and place is no more big issue in communication because of internet. However, more work is required to be done in the area of graphics to improve Diversified courseware technology to enhance the Educational Achievement of Students with and without Special Needs in the Inclusive Classroom. Through this paper we try to focus on the requirements and the challenges in the field of Diversified Courseware technology to enhance the Educational Achievement of Students with and without Special Needs in the Inclusive Classroom. We also emphasized on reading skill, application of computer in distance/regular mode, rural/tribal education and courseware technology for classroom aids, assessment software, reference software and various technology used in computer learning.

User requirements for handheld and mobile devices are increasing day by day and with this the demand for accessing internet on these devices has also increased drastically. Wireless networks have some limitations like bandwidth, display screen size and the battery power available. Working and designing techniques are required and developed to enable appropriate display of web pages on the mobile devices minimizing the loading time based on these constraints. Tag based Transcoding and proxy based cache Transcoding is discussed here. A new proposal has also been discussed. All these aim at reducing bandwidth consumption and processing power.

Software as a Service (SaaS) provides access to services to users over the Internet. To handle many users, SaaS providers access resources of cloud data centres or on rent resources from a public cloud infrastructure as a Service(IaaS) provider. This system proposes innovative lab environment for discovering all educational services as per user specific requirement. Furthermore, this system conduct an extensive discovery service which discovers user requirements based on ontology which will maximize SaaS provider's profit. Cloud computing is becoming a new adoptable technology for the educational institute with its dynamic vast scalability and use of virtual resource as a service and adopting it through the Internet. It will have a major impact on the education environment in the future. Education Cloud computing is a substitute for institutes those are under budget and to operate their systems effectively without purchasing any more for network devices.

In this paper we discuss the educational policies and reforms carried out in the state of Kerala. We start with a discussion on various National Policy on Education followed from time to time which influenced the education in this state. We also try to analyse the reforms introduced by DPEP and SCERT in the state of Kerala. We also address the advantages associated with these reforms along with some shortcomings in the implementations of these reforms.

Many real time applications, they are generated continues flow of data streams have became more popular now a days. Therefore many researches attracted clustering data streams. Most of data stream clustering algorithms based on distance function which find out clusters with spiracle of shape clusters and unable to deal noisy data. Therefore density based clustering algorithms substitute remarkable solution to find out clusters with arbitrary shapes of cluster and also handling noisy data. In which the clustering is performing with the bases of high density area of objects and also segregate low density objects as noise. In this paper we studied a simple existing data stream clustering algorithm DenStream based on DBScan. Based on DenStream a novel data stream clustering approach “DDenStream” is proposed. DDenStream is a modified data stream clustering algorithm of DenStream. It is based on fading window model therefore it applies a density decaying technique when the evolving data streams are captured and improved the quality of clusters by extracts the boundary points when two or more than microclusters are overlapping each other by using DCQ-Means algorithms. This approach also resolved the overlapping problem of microclusters. It find out arbitrary specs and good quality of clusters with noise.

Fundamental skills acquired by undergraduate students during their academic, play a crucial role in their career. One such skill is computational thinking (CT), which will help to solve problems algorithmically using computers. Computational thinking will improve their problem solving skills in a non-conventional manner as this leads the student to think in multiple paths to reach the solution. However, it is a challenge in Computing Education to develop student's ability to solve problems in an algorithmic way. The aim of this paper is to introduce a potential and pragmatic approach to develop computational thinking skills in novices.

The biggest driver for today's education is to match assessment to learning. School District (SD) leaders support efforts to hold schools accountable and are working to promote greater congruence between what's tested and what kids need to learn, if they are to thrive in the future. In order to promote important life skills like creativity, problem solving, and communications, one needs to have a hands-on life experience which is not only enjoyable but rewarding as well. Education is undoubtedly a tool for empowerment and IEEE K-12 STEM Literacy program in USA is fully committed to its implementation. Through various resources, like Tryengineering.org, Trynano.org and trycomputing.org, IEEE is trying to reach out to various school districts to tool teachers with hands-on lesson plans. IEEE is taking on the role of engaging the School Districts for further development of STEM programs more articulated & supportive of the specific/tailored needs. Working with and building a track record and demonstrating to potential partner School districts to have a history of returning dividends for their investments, increases the likelihood of IEEE being seen as serious and worthy partner.
