Transient analysis of a unified power flow controller, and its application to design of the DC-link capacitor 统一潮流控制器的暂态分析及其在直流电容设计中的应用

This paper presents a transient analysis of a unified power flow controller (UPFC), and design of capacitance of the DC-link capacitor based on that analysis. Active power flowing out of the series device in transient states is theoretically discussed to derive what amount of electric energy the DC link capacitor absorbs or releases through the series device. As a result, it is clarified that the active power flowing out of the series device is stored in the line inductance as magnetic energy during transient states. Design of capacitance of the DC-link capacitor is also presented in this paper, based on the theoretical analysis. Experimental results obtained from a 10 kVA laboratory setup are shown to verify the analytical results.

Model of integrated magnetics by means of "double 2D" finite element analysis techniques 利用“双二维”有限元分析技术建立集成磁学模型

This work presents a methodology to obtain a geometric and frequency dependent model of integrated magnetics. The modeling procedure presented in this work is based on the use of 2D instead of 3D finite element analysis (FEA) solvers. The main advantages of this procedure are that all geometrical and frequency effects are taken into account using 2D FEA solvers, but the time consumption is much lower than using 3D solvers. Some experimental results illustrate the application of the methodology, which is especially useful to adjust the coupling coefficient between each pair of windings before the component construction.

Power electronics technology at the dawn of the new millenium-status and future 新千年之初的电力电子技术——现状与未来

The paper examines the status of power electronics technology by looking at eight constituent technologies (power switch technology, passive components, power switching network technology, packaging technology, environmental impact technology, cooling technology, manufacturing technology, and converter control technology). The present trends are then discussed from the point of view of some of these that can be considered internal drivers, as well as from the viewpoint of those that are external drivers. Packaging as a central driver is evaluated and the necessity for a paradigm shift in power electronics technology identified. Future possibilities in terms of electromagnetic integration of passives and of integrated power electronic modules (IPEMs) are discussed.

Design of a novel ZVT soft-switching chopper 一种新型ZVT软开关斩波器的设计

This paper presents a simple soft-switching chopper scheme with fixed timing control. A near-zero-voltage transition (near-ZVT) switching condition can be realized with only one auxiliary resonant snubber branch added to a full-bridge two-quadrant chopper. The turn-off loss is reduced by adding lossless snubber capacitors in parallel with the main switches. The proposed design approach is to realize true ZVT at the rated load and near-ZVT under all other load current conditions. Computer simulation and hardware experiments have been implemented to verify the proposed concept, and the resulting voltage and current waveforms are shown from 30 to 150 percent load conditions in this paper. Under near-ZVT switching, the switching loss and dv/dt of can be significantly reduced, and the reverse recovery problem of main switches can be avoided as compared to the hard-switching case. The design criteria for the resonant components are described with a practical example that has been used in a commercial magnetic levitation system. Under different load current conditions, the proposed design methodology has been fully verified with simulation and experimental results.

Improvement of drive range, acceleration and deceleration performance in an electric vehicle propulsion system 电动汽车推进系统续驶里程、加减速性能的改进

This paper presents technologies that will be employed in a battery electric vehicle, aiming at improving the vehicle drive range, acceleration and deceleration performance and reducing the cost. Firstly it discusses a short-term power management scheme employing a high-power-density ultracapacitor bank to load level a high-energy-density, cost-effective but low-power-density Zn-Br battery for satisfactory overall performance of the vehicle power source. Then it looks at the issue of constant power operation of a BDCM propulsion system. A novel multifunctional DC-DC converter topology has been proposed for both short-term power management and the constant power operation of the BDCM propulsion system. It features simple circuitry, high efficiency, and low cost. Analysis of the operation principles of the multifunctional DC-DC converter is given. Control methods of regenerative braking of a BDCM at different operation modes are especially addressed.

A classification and evaluation of paralleling methods for power supply modules 电源模块并联方法的分类与评价

There is a fairly large number of methods for paralleling power converters. This paper classifies and examines these paralleling schemes, focusing on the active current-sharing approaches. Based on this classification, some new paralleling schemes can be achieved. Emphasis is placed on discussion and assessment of merits and limitations of these schemes. Finally, the prominent features of the dominant paralleling schemes are verified by simulation of a two-paralleled buck converter system.

A simple single-switch single-stage AC/DC power converter with fast output voltage regulation 一个简单的单开关单级AC/DC电源变换器,具有快速输出电压调节

In this paper a simple single-stage AC/DC converter, based on the flyback topology, is presented. With a single switch, a fast-regulated output voltage is achieved and although the line current is not sinusoidal, the converter complies with the standard IEC 1000-3-2 for low frequency harmonics in the medium power range. The major advantages of this converter are its size and the efficiency. Design guidelines, analysis of the line current and extensions to other topologies are analyzed. Experimental results are included in the paper.

Control strategy of a power line conditioner for cogeneration plants 热电联产电厂电力线调节器的控制策略

The cogeneration system analyzed in this paper consists of a high speed turbine coupled to a synchronous generator, that is connected to the mains by an AC/AC power converter. A novel control strategy is proposed for the power conditioning system to provide not only the active power, but the reactive power as well. In this way, the system can be efficiently used for power factor correction and current harmonics compensation. The theoretical analysis is confirmed by computer simulations carried out by PSpice for various operating conditions.

A new instantaneous output current control method for inverter arc welding machine 一种新的逆变弧焊机瞬时输出电流控制方法

According to the adoption of inverter circuit topology for welding machine area, the improvement of welding performance con be achieved. However conventional CO/sub 2/ inverter arc welding machine uses the constant voltage characteristics. So the metal transfer is performed under nonoptimum conditions in view of spatter generation. In this paper the new control algorithm is proposed for welding machine, which is the instantaneous output current control method using single chip microprocessor. But the optimum waveform of welding current is still uncertain, as a first step for figuring out the optimized waveforms, this study was performed, and as a result of performance test of the proposed system, it was demonstrated that all of the waveform variation parameters could be set individually and the generated spatter is reduced compared to conventional inverter arc welding machine.

Input filter interaction in three phase AC-DC converters 三相交直流变换器中输入滤波器的相互作用

It is well known that the addition of an input filter preceding a switched mode regulator poses a problem of performance degradation and potential instability due to its negative input impedance at low frequencies. Three phase converters are essentially multivariable systems. The objective of this paper is to analyze the problem of input filter interaction in three phase AC-DC converters from a multivariable perspective and to establish criteria that guarantee stability and satisfactory performance of the converter with an input filter. The dq average model of a three phase boost rectifier is used for the analysis. The minor loop, the stability of which has to be guaranteed is identified. A sufficient condition for stability, based on the singular values of the filter output impedance and converter input admittance matrices is derived. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the results.
