The continuous misgivings about Nigeria’s developmental trajectory predate Nigeria’s independence. The clues that can unravel and demystify the mystery surrounding the continuous retardation of socio-political and economic well-being of Nigeria have over the years become a tall order. Using the qualitative method, this paper succulently highlighted restructuring as a veritable panacea for promoting peaceful co-existence amongst ethnic nationalities, and also encourages healthy competition among federating units or states. This paper further discussed restructuring as it relates to resource control by sub-national government. It recommended power devolution and deloading of the exclusive list of 1999 constitution as amended and galvanizing the states and local government towards assuming more governmental responsibilities.

The study focused on the caretaker committee and performance of local Government Council in Nigeria: A study of Anambra State 2008 2013. In Nigeria federal structure, the three levels of government have legislative responsibility for various services and functions. The fourth schedule of the constitution outlines the functions and responsibilities of local government. The objective of the study is to: determine if the imposition of the caretaker committee system is a constitutional provision of the local government system in Nigeria especially Anambra State; to determine if the adoption of the caretaker committee by the state government affected the capacity of local government to perform its functions. The theoretical framework adopted focused on structural functional theory propounded by Gabriel Almond and J.S. Coleman in 1960. The study adopted descriptive research design and relied heavily on both primary and secondary data. Questionnaire was the major instrument for data collection and data were analyzed by the use of mean. Based on the data analysis, the following findings were made: the imposition of the caretaker committee system by state government to local governments is unconstitutional, the adoption of the caretaker committee by state government endangered the local government system capacity to perform its constitutional function. The study recommended amongst others that the use of or appointment of local government caretaker committee should be condemned, caretaker committee should be made to spend only three months to allow for a constitutionally elected local government executive. This paper examined the impact of restructuring macroeconomic policy for sustainable development in Nigeria. The paper examines the various efforts aimed at restructuring macroeconomics policy in Nigeria. These efforts were captured in the SAP of 1986, NEEDS of 2004, the Transformation Agenda of 2011 and the ERGP of 2016. The paper adopted content analysis method of qualitative research given the peculiarity of the subject matter. There were documented evidence that during the aforementioned periods, the economy showed signs of growth and development. Despite the gains of the reforms, Nigeria is still grappling with economic growth and development issues-unemployment, poverty and rising cost of living. This paper however recommends that there should be continuity in programmes and policies of government. Programmes and policies should not change with regime change. There should be a deliberate and conscious effort on the part of government and policy makers to design programmes and policies that are people oriented, home grown and have the capacity to promote and sustainable growth and development. Insecurity is the cankerworm that is eating deep into the fabric of this nation. It is a national problem with certain destructive tendencies, hence the need for the enthronement of religious education to save the nation from destruction. Religion, which teaches morality, plays a vital role in the social lives of individuals and society at large. This is because it deals with values, behaviours and attitude exhibited and encouraged by members of the society which enhances national development. Therefore, religion is essential for curbing insecurity because security challenge is always accompanied with tension and anxiety which hinder development. The paper revealed that insecurity is the product of moral decadence in the society, because lack of moral values in the lives of individuals lead to all the vices that result to insecurity in Nigeria. Therefore, government should lay more emphasis on the teaching of religious education at all levels of education in order to inculcate good morals into the youths, curb insecurity in the society and enhance national development. Employment opportunities should be created so as to eradicate poverty, since a hungry man is an angry man.

The paper explores the possibility of drawing on religious values and ethos through our religious leaders in solving societal problems militating against peace and security for sustainable development in the country. The paper looks at the security and peace which religion proffers by inculcation of moral. Religion regulates the conduct and behaviour of people in the society and preaches good virtues needed in the society. The researcher undertakes historical and critical interpretation of the phenomenon which have militated against meaningful peace and security of the nation. It discovers among other things that bribery and corruption, poor leadership, moral decadence, insecurity, religious crisis or insurgence among others contribute to the low pace of security and peace in the nation. It concludes by recommending that all religious leaders/groups should draw on the theosophical perspectives of religion in the country to ensure adequate peace and security for peaceful co-existence in order for the nation to actualize her dreams of sustainable development.

The paper examined Restructuring and National Security to ascertain how this could possibly enhance and sustain a better nation amidst the many crises that have endangered the unity of our peaceful coexistence. It is imperative to acknowledge that the unending squabbles and schisms threatening the peaceful coexistence of the Nigerian-state is traceable to improper restructuring of the political system. The paper which relied on secondary sources of data submits that addressing issues of ineffective representation, non-inclusion of persons of different segments, religious intolerance among others would help to promote National Security. The paper therefore argues that issues that are capable of triggering crisis and destroying the National Security, should be tackled adequately in order to have an orderly society devoid of rancour and endless acrimony. The conclusion of the paper was anchored on genuine restructuring with proper recommendations that would help promote an organized and egalitarian society.

This paper examined youth empowerment, wealth creation and security as key to national development. The paper was guided by three objectives viz-a-viz; finding out how the empowerment of youth enhances national development, determining how wealth creation in the country is capable of enhancing national development and examining the role security play in entrenching national development. Reviews of literature were carried out in line with the objectives of the study using secondary data as method of data collection. The paper concluded that youth empowerment, wealth creation and national security enhance a nation’s positive and sustainable development. The paper suggested that government should make youth empowerment and wealth creation process in the country seamless so that majority of her unemployed youth can key into the scheme to uplift self and enhance national development. Also, the government should make national security a priority at all times. This is because without adequate security in the country, the zeal to be creative will be discouraged, investment will be limited, thus making development of the country to be stagnated as interested persons and organizations will be scared to invest.

Nigeria as a nation has been experiencing security challenges at alarming level in the last few years. This has taken various forms such as kidnapping from ransom, herders and farmers clashes, organized crimes, and cybercrimes, implosive movement of small and light arms. Trans border crimes, human trafficking, and slavery among others. This has affected Nigeria’s external relations with the outside world negatively in various ways, such as constriction of bilateral trade volume, cold diplomatic relations, low tourism attraction, low educational exchang e, reduction of military trainings abroad, refusal of arms purchase, low foreign investments among others. The diversity nature of the Nigerian state stands a gap in finding solutions to the myriads of problems as Nigeria’s image abroad has been dented badly. Scientifically, the relationship between knowledge and growth in economic growth has been enhanced by technical breakthroughs and developments over the years, so that economic growth is no longer focused solely on the exploitation of raw materials, energy sources andphysical goods, but on the intangible development of values in the form of essential skills, services, innovative technologies and inventions. Considering the high level of youth unemployment and the high incidence of poverty in Nigeria, this requires a re-adjustment of the traditional methods of human capital growth. The main goal of this paper is to shed light on recent developments in our understanding of the forces that border on information formation, distribution and innovation through the growth phase of the entrepreneur. This paper explored the tertiary institutions' entrepreneurship development programme and the capacity of graduates and future graduates to build jobs. Therefore, at Issele-Uku Delta State NYSC orientation camp, forty youth corps members were surveyed to evaluate their entrepreneurial dispositions. Similarly, surveys were also performed at four Delta State Tertiary Institutions. The sample of institutions consisted of 20 students from the selected schools each. One hundred polled 20 respondents. It was found that thirty-two percent of those who admitted to have taken entrepreneurship education, showed interest in setting up personal businesses using X2 analytical technique, while twenty-two percent preferred to work in private agencies, and the remaining forty-six percent preferred to work in either of the government weapons. In the design of regulations affecting the development of knowledge for the efficient diffusion of knowledge into socially useful needs, the policy implications of this study are significant Keywords: Entrepreneurs, Knowledge, Innovation, Growth
