Employee performance of Pratama Tax Office at North Malang was affected by competence, discipline and work motivation to serve taxpayers. Therefore, this study will examine the effect of competence and discipline on work motivation and the impact on employee performance. This research was conducted at Pratama Tax Office at North Malang. The samples were 92 respondents. Data was collected using a questionnaire and completed by respondents themselves. The obtained data was analyzed by path analysis to determine the effect of each variable. This study produced seven findings. First, Competence directly affects on Work Motivation. Second, Discipline directly affects on Work Motivation. Third, Competence directly affects on Employee Performance. Fourth, discipline directly affects on employee performance. Fifth, work motivation directly affect on employee performance. Sixth, Competence indirectly affect on employee performance mediated by work motivation. Indonesia has a complex culture that is distinct from other Asian countries. Indonesian is an emerging market and managing Indonesian people is not easy. This is because of the complexity of culture, ethnic, religion, geographic, historic, economic and politic system. Cultural issues is a vital aspect in collectivist country like Indonesia before decided HRM policy. This paper has aim to determine cultural dimension issues based on Hofstede national culture and GLOBE project (Global Leadership and Organisational Behaviour Effectiveness) on Indonesia human resource management practices using SLR (Structured Literature Review) approach. This paper provides insights related to the Indonesia human resources management practice (recruitment and selection, training development and rewards, compensation, performance appraisal and industrial relation).

This research aims to examine the role of job satisfaction in compensation, environment, discipline, and performance in Indonesia Higher Education, exactly in State Polytechnic of Banjarmasin (POLIBAN). To examine the hypotheses and mediator variabel, this research used Partial Least Square (PLS). It found that of ten hypotheses tested, four hypeteses were negative and insignificant. In addition, the test of mediation, by PLS, also showed that Job satisfaction cannot mediate the relationship between compensation and performance. However, it can be a mediator for the relationship between environment or discipline and performance. These results confirmed and contradict to the previous studies conducted.

This study aims to examine the income-health gradient and empirically test the probability of the dependent variable on the child's health status, especially the role of insurance variables, and maternal variables working on children's health status. The use of these 2 (two) variables aims to reduce the social-economic relationship between family income and children's health status. The results of replication from Park's study (2010) showed different income-health gradient results. In this study the results of income-health gradient occurred in school-age children in the 2000-2007 panel data and income-health gradient occurred in the 2007-2014 panel data for preschool and school-aged children, in contrast to Park's (2010) income-health gradient results. only occurs in preschoolers. The role of insurance variables has not been able to reduce the relationship of family income and children's health, while the working mothers variable can reduce the relationship of family income and child health only on the 2000-2007 panel data. Supervision and improvement of insurance facilities by the government as a solution to improve children's health in an effort to break the chain of intergenerational poverty, and increase the program of increasing the proportion of the population with calorie intake below the consumption level of 1400 kcal / capita / day.

This study aims to examine the relationship between determinant variables affecting SME funding decision in Batu City. The approach used is survey research on perpetrators of SMEs excellent products as respondents to test the causality of variables affecting the funding decision. The analysis technique used is multiple regressions. The research found that: (1) although SMEs can achieve profit and increase assets, SMEs in Batu City prioritize internal funding sources. (2) Higher business risk due to increased company size and leverage operations. The SMEs tend to use internal funding rather than debt. SMEs growth does not necessarily use debt. Most the production activities of SMEs in Batu City have reached full capacity.

FDI is one of the factors that encourage the growth of the economy, especially for developing countries. Indonesia has prepared an economic policy package and a taxation policy for booting the investments, including FDI. This paper investigates whether the FDI is one of the essential instruments to improve the growth of Indonesia economy. Multiple regression with GDP as a dependent variable; and FDI, Trade, Government Expenditure, and Inflation as independent variables are employed. The data is from 1985 up to 2015 period. FDI does not have any impact on GDP, while others variables influence the growth of the economy. It suggests that the goals of FDI, namely technology transfer, development of human resources, are not achieved entirely. It implies that the package of economic policy and taxation are not enough for FDI to have the impact on GDP, but others factors, such as wage rate, labor skills, transport and infrastructure, and property rights, must be developed.

Strategic management plays an important role in village governance to improve the quality of public services. The Village Government receives substantial funding but has not been followed by adequate strategic management governance. Changes in policy, environmental change and the ability to deliver better quality public services have become the demand for village governments to adapt their institutions for developments and changes. This research focuses on the influence of power and commitment on the application of Strategic Management in Village Government (Study on Village Government in Sidoarjo District). This study aims to explain whether power and commitment have a significant effect on strategic management in Village Government. The research was conducted by using questionnaires to test the research variables from Respondents. The results explain the influence of the two variables and the results are analyzed using WarpPLS. The results of this study indicate that the two variables positively affect the implementation of strategic management in village government. Expert and reverend based power and continuance commitment have a positive effect on the implementation of strategic management in village government. The results of this study will play a significant role in helping Village Governments analyze the factors that influence strategic management governance

This study discusses the effect of Brand Experience and service quality on customer loyalty mediated customer satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze in depth the effect of brand experience and service quality on customer loyalty mediated customer satisfaction at Starbucks Coffee Malang. This research uses explanatory research that explain the causal relationship between the variables studied.By using a survey of 180 respondents to test the research hypothesis.Research data analysis using the test instrument, the classical assumption test, multiple linear regression, and path analysis / Path Analysis. The test results prove the instrument has met the criteria of validity and reliability, the classic assumption test results also have met the criterion of the assumptions of normality, autocorrelation, Non-Multicolinearity and heterocedastisity. In this study obtained; a). Brand experience on consumer satisfaction with the value of 0.309, or 30.9%, b). The quality of service to customer satisfaction with the value of 0.387 or 38.7%., C). Brand experience on consumer loyalty to the value of 0.216 or 21.6%., D). Service quality on customer loyalty with a value of 0,305 or 30.5%., E). Effect of brand experience and service quality customer satisfaction with the value of 0.581 or 58.1%., F). Effect of brand experience and service quality on customer loyalty with a value of 0.657 or 65.7%., G). Effect of brand experience and service quality on customer loyalty mediated consumer satisfaction with the value of 0.438 or 43.8%. Based on these results, it is necessary to enhance the consumer's commitment to give satisfaction to the consumers better by excellent service or "service excellence" is the attitude and serve with satisfactory manner from the present level while maintaining the brand experience Starbucks Coffee Malang.

ABSTRACTBhagwati developed a hypothesis that expected economic growth (EG) enhancing impact of exports (EXP) and foreign direct investment (FDI) interaction. This paper checks the validity of the Bhagwati hypothesis by examining the moderation and mediation effect of EXP in the relationship between FDI and Gross domestic product for Sub Sahara Africa countries (SSA) during 2018 period. To achieve the article purpose, normality test, robust regression, and causal analysis using bootstrapping procedure were performed using R programming environment. The correlation results revealed a strong correlation between FDI-EXP-GDP. The coefficient of the robust regression of the interaction term of EXP and FDI was found positive, and statistically significant. The result of the mediation analysis showed that indirect relationship of FDI was found positive and significant whereas direct relationship was not significant. The results are consistent with the previous studies, theory, and Bhagwati hypothesis. Theorical and practical implications were presented.
