The present study was conducted to examine the changes in calcium and phosphorus levels during Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) infection in rabbits. The experimental procedures were carried out with 12 male New Zealand white healthy rabbits, divided into two equal groups - the experimental group (n=6, rabbits infected with S.aureus) and the control group (n=6, uninfected animals). Blood samples were collected at 0 hours before infection, as well on 6, 24, 48, 72 hours and 7, 14 and 21 days after the infection. The amount of calcium in infected rabbits decreased significantly by the 48-th hour (p<0,01) after infection with bacterial suspension. A significant increase of phosphorus in the experimental group was observed at 24 hours and on the 7-th day after infection.

Introduction: Ureteroscopy is a standard procedure for the treatment of ureteral stones but it carries the risk of many complications – urinary tract infections being the most common. We present a rare case of a perirenal hematoma after this procedure. Case Presentation: A male patient with bilateral ureteral stones was initially treated with stents. Later a laser disintegration of the stone in the right ureter was tried – unsuccessfully. After the procedure, a perirenal hematoma was found. Discussion: Based on our previous experience, the hematoma was completely unexpected. The ultrasound provided the initial diagnosis but it underestimated its real size -the accurate diagnosis was made with contrast-CT. The initial conservative treatment failed because of the occurrence of fever. Conclusion: Ureterorenoscopy-related hematoma is a rare, but serious complication. Its occurrence can be prevented by reducing the intrarenal pressure during the procedure and also by shortening the duration of the manipulation.

Purpose: This study aimed to determine the intra-observer and inter-observer reliability of nine tests used for predicting the presence of palmaris longus muscle. Methods: Three observers tested the presence of palmaris longus muscle three different times on each of the 52 subjects’ right and left wrists. The interobserver agreement was evaluated using Cohen’s Kappa statistics. And the intraobserver agreement was evaluated using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient. Results: Inter-observer agreements, defined by kappa, varied from 0.293 (slight) to 0.687 (substantial) (p<0.001 for all), while intra-observer agreements varied from 0.691(substantial) to 0.885 (almost perfect) (p<0.001 for all). Conclusions: Many of the current tests used for determining the presence of palmaris longus tendon have substantial interobserver reliability. As the testing experience of the observers improves, the agreement rates increase too.

The article examines the use of linguistic didactic case studies in the teaching of students of pedagogy at Trakia University – Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. The specificity of their educational content is tied to the application of the communicative approach to the text. Qualitative analysis of the created texts as well as descriptive statistics is applied. A high level of solving the cognitive task (dimension of goal-setting conceptual knowledge) by the future teachers was found. The trend is also maintained at the other three dimensions, with nearly two-thirds of the surveyed persons dealing with case studies – part of their language-didactic training, linked to textological issues in the pedagogical interaction with children aged 3 to 7. Educational tasks aimed at a procedural dimension were the most difficult for a relative proportion of students (29%), followed by those related to remembering and understanding factual knowledge (18%), as well as case studies related to metacognitive knowledge (15%). This way of working primarily aims at the creative application of competences for planning pedagogical interaction in the educational environment of the kindergarten in the field of linguistic-literary discourse.

Children's value landmarks are a major factor in their personal construction in preschool and subsequent periods of development. This report attempts to assess the moral development of 5-7 year olds by analyzing the responses they received regarding a moral case proposed by the teacher. Placed in the same situation, children demonstrate different views about their peers' behavior towards others and how they would react to their loved ones (brother or sister). Their responses are influenced by the values acquired in the family and educational environment. The fact that they are an only child in the family, whether they have siblings, what is the value system of their parents, grandparents, also influences moral information.

Smart specialization is not an imposed strategy, but a necessary adaptation of national and regional policies in modern times. It is the conditions of constantly decreasing resources and the adaptation of local economies to a new world order that requires an analysis of the education system, which should lead to justified change. The research period is 2014 - 2020 and the base year is 2014, the beginning of the measures in the direction of development of the Smart Specialization of the Regions in Bulgaria. Analyzed economic indicators are population, level of education, number of schools in the education system, and employment by economic activities. The study covers two levels - national and regional, to specify the need for follow-up. Performed economic analyzes demonstrate the specialization of the regions in the field of education. The conclusions that follow from the present study show the effect of smart specialization on the education system in the country, as well as the direction for future changes in educational structures.

An experiment with 30 weaned pigs of the East Balkan pig breed was conducted at the Agricultural Science Center in Sredets. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of oregano extract supplementation on the productivity and health status of weaned pigs of the East Balkan breed. The animals were divided into two groups of 15 animals, 8 males, and 7 females. The experiment started at 8,150 kg live weight for group I (control) and 8,160 kg for experimental group II. The animals from the control group received wheat: barley (50:50), and 50 g of oregano extract per 100 kg of feed was added to the ration of animals from experimental group II. The experiment finished at 19.646 kg live weight for group I and at 20.673 kg live weight for those in group II. The use of oregano extract (Origanum vulgare) in the feed for weaned pigs of the East Balkan breed improved the average daily gain (by 8.96%-0.146 kg vs. 0.134kg) and reduced the feed conversion ratio per kg gain by 8.22% (5.240kg vs. 5.709 kg).

One of the modern challenges facing society is finding ways to counteract hypodynamia. This article discusses the ability of educational institutions to enrich the forms and means of extracurricular physical activity through sports-animation practice, in order to stimulate the active participation of adolescents and increase the volume of their motor activity. Presented is the regulatory conditioning for the formation of professional-pedagogical competence for the realization of sports-animation activity. The authors justify the fact that maximising the engagement of the free time of the younger generation will regressively affect its activities with negative health dependencies.
