Since WeChat launched in Chinese mainland, it has rapidly occupied the social life of most Chinese and has become the most popular social media platform in China undoubtedly, with the effect like Facebook in the other regions around the world. Comparing with Facebook or Instagram, WeChat extended its functions from the original one as chatting with friends online and following the interesting accounts to the financial area, for example, WeChat wallet and sending red packets through virtual channel. According to the report from official Xinhua news agency, users of WeChat sent around 46 billion electronic red packets - digital versions of traditional envelopes stuffed with cash - via the Chinese mobile social platform just over the 2017 Lunar New Year period. This statistic demonstrates sending digital red packet via WeChat especially in traditional festival has already become the latest popular trend and attractive entertainment in China. This article focuses on how WeChat red packets inherit and expand the form and function of traditional red packets. As the issues about inheritance and revival of traditional culture has been becoming more important at present time, the article attempts to take WeChat red packets as example so as to discuss whether social media can extend influence of Chinese traditions to the virtual world, and what influence the practice can make.

The ever-changing technological breakthroughs are opening up the boundaries of the media, and the development of media convergence has been renewed and iterated. Based on the integration of TV stations and the Internet, which is no longer fashionable, this paper takes the first domestic cable TV network's TV parenting community-Chongqing "i12 Parenting Community+" as an example to explore the specific performance of its in-depth integration of TV stations and the Internet. This article examines the Chongqing "i12 Parent-Child Community+", one of the earliest TV parent-child communities in the domestic cable TV network. In the wake of sustained efforts to combat abusive behaviour on social media platforms, it has been demanded that social media companies take greater responsibility for the safety of their users. A piece of a piece of legislation (The Online Safety Bill) was announced by the UK government in 2022 with the aim of creating a safer online environment and protecting users from harmful content. This article critically assesses the extent to which social media platforms are overprotected in contemporary society, and whether current regulations are sufficient solutions to the issues around online harms and abhorrent content. A comparative perspective of various media law systems is provided to explore the legal regulations, jurisprudential norms, and societal impacts of different legal systems on the media. The regulation of social media platforms is a complex issue that has sparked debate over the balance between protecting speech rights and preventing abusive behaviour. However, it is not as simple as a binary choice between statutory oversight and unregulated speech, as moderation laws can be too rigid or too vague and may lead to over-censorship or over-protection. There is a need to refine clear boundaries for content governance and liability exemption, while maintaining the original intentions of legislation, aligned with an ethic approach.

Contemporary technology not only creates virtual space and changes the relationship between body and space, but also transforms the body through new technology. The media technology in the era of intelligent media has been promoted to a new height. The combination of intelligent technology, communication science and humanistic design has laid a technical foundation for the immersion of human senses and given people unlimited immersion from different dimensions. The digital body narration in sci-fi movies presents some body aesthetic problems, such as the spatiality of body, the cross-border existence of body and the body of information theory. Movies collect the trajectories of body movements, showing the multiple possibilities of body in real and virtual space, thus constructing the close relationship between body and world.

: As social media has become a platform for females to obtain information, communicate online and show themselves, its influence on females’ body image is also increasing, affecting females’ appearance anxiety. In this case, this article concerned female appearance anxiety on social media. The main purpose of this paper is to explore the underlying logic of females’ appearance anxiety on social media and give suggestions for rectification. Based on 176 questionnaires, this paper found that the appearance anxiety of Chinese females who use social media is not that serious. At the same time, females’ appearance anxiety on social media has a closely positive impact on three independent variables: social media use, social comparison on social media, and socio-cultural factors. But there was no significant association with four control variables: personality, BMI, age and education. This proves that female, regardless of their appearance or education, experience appearance anxiety and dissatisfaction with their body or appearance. This phenomenon is common and may gradually develop into a social problem. Social media should put in place appropriate controls to manage speech and establish health platforms to help females ease their appearance anxiety.

: The television industry has been grappling with the opposing forces of globalization and localization when it comes to television programs. This paper will take a closer look at the issue and examine it through the lenses of time and space. To illustrate these concepts, the analysis will focus on original programs and TV series produced by Netflix in Japan and South Korea at early stage, and provide practical solutions to the challenges.

: In the case of the 2022 stars attending the National Theatre, some irrational people thought they represented the interests of the general public, putting stars and others in complete opposition to the general public, taking an all-round negative attitude towards stars, and even inciting negative emotions among the masses, inducing the occurrence of online violence. This part of irrational speech is implicitly tinged with Internet populism, leading to confusion in the court of public opinion. This article examines this incident of stars attending the theater, takes a rational view of Internet populism, and discusses strategies for coping with public opinion from the perspective of individuals and the state.
