The hydrographic basins have been going through several transformations of their natural landscapes through anthropic interventions, which causes environmental disturbances in the water bodies. The Córrego da Cascata basin has the largest Atlantic Forest forest fragment in the municipality of Presidente Prudente – SP, it is in a scenario of landscape transformation through land use and land cover due to the increase in human activities such as urbanization, pasture for pastoral, perennial and annual agriculture. The aim of this study was to evaluate the physical-chemical and biological parameters of the waters of the stream, which crosses the Chico Mendes Municipal Ecological Park (Mata do Furquim). According to the IQA, the three study points were classified as regular along the stream. The BMWP index rated one point as bad and two points as regular waters.

Rotating machines in motion usually produce dynamic forces that diffuse to the ends that support them, such efforts can lead to disadvantageous reactions to the operation of the machine, as well as unbalance or misalignment that can damage the shaft-rotor assembly or the elements directly linked to it. The objective of this project is to develop a mechanical and experimental system that enables the testing and data acquisition of a rotating machine and build a computational algorithm to generate amplitude and velocity diagrams as a function of time and compare the dynamic behavior of a vibrational bench, in normal and unbalanced condition.

In this work we developed a semi-autonomous drone navigation system for a cardboard box industry, to assist in counting the stock of cardboard reels. The developed methodology has four main steps, being the QR Code decoding, optical marker detection, navigation system and drone movement. For the QR Code decoding step, the pyzbar library was used. In the optical marker detection step, the YOLOv4 Tiny library was used, which uses machine learning techniques to detect objects in real time. YOLOv4 Tiny was trained using a custom dataset with images of optical markers and labels in a closed simulation environment, achieving a hit rate of 92.10%. The navigation system step is fed by the response of the neural network, in which each marker has a function associated with it. The last step depends on the navigation system, since it sends which command the drone must follow and the movement sends this command to the drone.

Nowadays there is a great technological evolution making it fundamental to provide information for different mobile devices with differently developed platforms. This evolution has given to the tourist area the expansion of its means of communication through all the technological media available. However, because it is a gigantic area and has different solutions for different situations, there is a large amount of data that needs to be filtered, so it has become slow to use a variety of solutions that search for destinations, verify reputation and create an itinerary. We look for with this work as a way to solve this demand the development of a computational solution that centralizes all tourist information. A mobile application and a Web Service were built that, through the Representational State Transfer (REST) architecture, uses transfer protocols to communicate. The results obtained demonstrate a significant efficiency of response time and agility in relation to the other solutions discussed. All data were validated in the laboratory based on a real case study in a small tourist town.

The proper disposal of solid waste is considered a challenge to many Brazilian municipalities that still dispose of their waste in controlled landfills and dumps, major causes of environmental liabilities. As the soil is one of the environmental components most affected by this practice, the objective of this work is to evaluate the vegetative development of sunflower and jack bean cultivated in soil with environmental liability arising from inadequate disposal of solid waste. Soil samples were collected from a deactivated dump located in the west of São Paulo and a control sample, in order to compare the development of species in different soils. The study was carried out in a greenhouse, from the Design of Randomized Blocks, with sixteen experimental plots, during 45 days. Soil fertility parameters and biomass production of the species were evaluated. The results were submitted to analysis of variance and the Tukey mean comparison test. There was a significant influence of solid waste on the availability of nutrients in the soil, which showed high levels of macronutrients and organic matter. The pig bean species stood out for its higher biomass production compared to sunflower, which indicates the possibility of using this species in the phytoremediation of this environmentally passive soil.

The generation of solid urban waste (MSW) has grown significantly in recent decades, mainly due to the increase in population and urban areas. Thus, it is necessary to know the quantity and composition of these materials, especially in small municipalities, where the management of this waste is still deficient. In this sense, the present study aims to analyze the production of solid urban waste and its gravimetry in eight municipalities in the sertão of Alagoas. As a source of data, the State Solid Waste Plan of the State of Alagoas - Sertão Region and economic information from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics were used. A Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was employed. The municipalities were characterized by a low urban population and low GDP per capita values. High variability was observed for the daily generation of MSW, with the predominance of the organic fraction, followed by plastic. On the other hand, low percentages of metals (<5%) were observed. The ACP explained 69.2% of the original variance of the data in the first two axes and evidenced the strong association between economic aspects and the gravimetric composition of the residues. In view of the large amount of organic material present in the residues of the study area, actions for the use and proper disposal of this fraction, such as composting, should be encouraged.

Mental illnesses are symptomatic conditions that affect both the psychological and the physical aspects of a person, which can lead to death in more severe cases. An example of these illnesses is depression, which when the treatment is done quickly improves the patient's chances of recovering. So, a quick diagnosis is essential for treatment to take place effectively. However, traditional methods make it difficult for psychology professionals to analyze data in the form of images, audio and text digitally. This work aimed to contribute with a joint application to a study to optimize the diagnosis time, providing an analysis through machine processing, analyzing images, audio and text automatically, providing the professional in the field of psychology with a report of satisfaction and sadness of the patient. The results are satisfactory with an average accuracy in the validation of the network of 72.47% in the recognition of emotions.

This work presents the application of a method for monitoring and diagnosing failures in mechanical structures based on the theory of vibration signals and on Artificial Immune Systems to assist in data processing. It uses the Negative Selection Algorithm as a tool to identify fault samples extracted from the laboratory simulated signals of a dynamic rotor. This methodology can help mechanical structure maintenance professionals, facilitating decision-making. The data set used in the processing of the intelligent system was generated through experiments. For normal (base-line) conditions, the signals of the rotor in free operation were used, that is, without the addition of unbalance mass, and for the fault conditions, unbalance masses were added to the system. The results are satisfactory, showing precision and robustness.

Brazil is the largest sugar and alcohol producer in the world, consequently, it is also a major vinasse producer, which is a problem, as it has a high potential for pollution, severely impacting the soil and water, despite being used in fertigation of cane fields. When treated in anaerobic conditions, however, it can produce energy and be used as a biofertilizer for the soil. This treatment can be performed by an Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB), considered efficient by the literature. Based on this, this article tries to gather equations and collect data, reviewing the scientific literature with the objective of designing an UASB for the treatment of vinasse, exposing an alternative of suitable final disposal for this by-product. The results show good opportunities, with a great potential for reducing BOD and COD and producing biogas, electricity and biofertilizer, in addition to providing a compilation of equations and important data for future calculations.
