The paper presents the results from development and experimental study of a physical model of a direct driven wind energy conversion system (WECS) with synchronous generator (SG), connected to the grid via a back-to-back converter. The control is a combination of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm, maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) strategy with field oriented vector control (FOC) for the generator, and voltage oriented vector control (VOC) for the grid-side converter. The proposed power control scheme is applied on a test bench with DC motor, synchronous generator and electronic converters. The complete control software is implemented on dSpace DS1104 platform. The developed control system is validated by various experimental studies. The results show the good performance of the control under steady-state and variable wind speed conditions.

The development of the isolated and decentralized territories’ energy infrastructure is one of the most important issues for the development of world energy. This task was set by the International Energy Agency within the framework of the adopted energy policy until 2050. Isolated energy supply zones in Russia cover up more than 60% of the entire territory. Authors in this paper define the operation modes of the hybrid systems with a high penetration level of diesel fuel. In the article, a multipurpose selection method of the main and auxiliary equipment of the energy complex based on renewable energy sources was showed. In the article, the process of creating unique laboratory bench for conducting simulation studies of wind power plants was described. The research work was completed during ENI CBC project Energy-efficient systems based on renewable energy for Arctic conditions "EFREA" financed by the European Union, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Finland.

The paper presents the design, synthesis and implementation of a three-loop cascade control algorithm with a digital proportional integral regulator intended for installation in a modern electrohydraulic power steering systems for low speed vehicles. The developed control algorithm is embedded into a 32-bit microprocessor of a laboratory test rig. The structure of control system and the layout of the hydraulic system are shown. The cascade control algorithm consists of three regulators for output variables: proportional spool valve position, supplying flow rate and cylinder piston position. The parameters of PI regulator are tuned by model-based approach in Simulink environment and experimentally are refined. Evaluation with experiments have been carried out to present the performance of the electrohydraulic power steering system. The results from evaluation with experiments will serve as a basis for SIMO system identification for obtained a dynamical plant model and realization of advanced control strategies implementable in vehicles.

The quality of the software is determined by features not related to its functionality such as ease-of-use, technical support, responsiveness and so on. By measuring these properties of software products, software performance attributes are evaluated, such as efficiency, reliability, maintainability, etc. Design Patterns (DP) are one of the ways to improve software quality. The report analyzes the use of DP combinations in developing a class of software systems, namely Information Systems (IS) and presents a new software development approach based on a custom Combination of Design Patterns (CDP). The results of the actual implementation of the approach are also presented as well as conclusions about the achieved quality of the created software product. It has to be concluded that the application of CDP for this class of software systems will lead to overall improvement of software quality.

In this paper modelling of vibroacoustic transducers in the frequency range from 6 Hz to 10 Hz in a single software environment is considered. In the course of the study, a technique for modelling a low-frequency electromagnetic converter of an active vibration damping system (ADVS) compensating source was studied and successfully applied. For the simulation, modern tested software COMSOL Multiphysics was used, which uses the finite element method and allows solving problems from various fields. In particular, COMSOL Multiphysics had enough capabilities to perform this work, and all modeling took place in a single environment.

This report presents an algorithm for compression of binary images transmitted in real time. The algorithm is suitable for images that need to be transmitted without loss and for a short time. The image is obtained by pre-processing a color image. We performed a comparative evaluation using a set of real-world images. The empirical analysis shows that a higher compression rate is achieved when compared to WinZIP.

The article presents mathematical models of the electrical characteristics of different types of photovoltaic (PV) panels. The developed model of the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of PV panels is valid for wide range of operating conditions - different solar radiation and temperature of the modules. The model is based on data given by the manufacturer. The software used for mathematical modelling is Matlab. The obtained simulation results are validated with experimental characteristics under identical operating conditions.

The worldwide use of LTE in recent years requires maintaining a high QoS that can be achieved by prioritizing traffic. The various prioritization mechanisms are offered to improve the efficiency of this system. In order to determine the best possible mechanism for prioritizing traffic a comparative analysis of the proposed mechanisms is needed. This paper presents a comparative evaluation of the proposed by authors mechanism for prioritization of traffic in LTE network with two other.
