Whether segmental or diffuse, a hepatofugal blood flow is almost always pathological. Over the years,Doppler ultrasonography has retained its position as one of the most accessible and physiological imagingtechniques to evaluate the direction of the portal blood flow. Detection of a reverse flow is important as itmay change patient care and outcome.

Gallbladder volvulus: a case report 胆囊扭转1例

The gallbladder volvulus is a rare condition. There have been around 500 cases described worldwide. It isvirtually impossible to diagnose it clinically as symptoms are analogous to those of acute cholecystitis.Small proportion of gallbladder volvulus cases get accurately diagnosed preoperatively according toavailable literature. The imaging such as computer tomography plays a crucial role in diagnosing thiscondition. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is considered to be a gold standard treatment for this condition.In our report we present a case of gallbladder volvulus which was successfully diagnosed by means ofcomputer tomography scan

Exercise Contractile Reserve for Predicting Mortality in Non-Ischemic Ventricular Dysfunction 运动收缩储备预测非缺血性心室功能障碍的死亡率

Objectives: A preserved contractile reserve is a marker of favorable outcome in different cardiac diseases. In some studies, using drugs, an increase in left ventricular (LV) systolic function was associated to better prognosis in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy. We aimed to assess whether a positive contractile reserve (CR) to physical exercise is a marker of good outcome in patients with LV systolic dysfunction not related to coronary artery disease (CAD).Design: From our exercise echocardiography database we extracted patients with LV systolic dysfunction (LVEF ≤45), negative coronary angiography, and absence of a history of CAD. A positive CR was considered when peak LVEF was higher that resting LVEF. The endpoint was overall mortality. Results and Conclusions: Among the 225 patients included, 105 had a positive CR and 120 a negative CR. Resting LV function was similar in patients with positive and negative CR (LVEF 35±8 vs. 34±9; wall motion score index 1.81±0.34 vs. 1.80±0.29; both p=NS). During a follow up of 6.2+4.7 years (25-75th percentiles 2.2-9.5), there were 71 deaths. Ten-year mortality rates were 34% for patients with CR and 67% for patients without CR (p=0.003). After multivariate adjustment that included clinical variables, medications, resting LV function, and exercise testing variables the only predictors of death were age (hazard ratio (HR) 1.07, 95% Confidence Interval (CI) 1.04-1.10, p<0.001), and absence of CR (HR 1.80, 95% CI 1.09-2.98, p=0.02). In conclusion, in patients with non- ischemic LV dysfunction, a positive CR to physical exercise is a marker of better outcome.

Radiosensitizing performance of uncoated and citrate-coated SPIONs in cancerous and non-cancerous cells 未包被和柠檬酸盐包被SPIONs在癌细胞和非癌细胞中的放射增敏性能

Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles were shown to exhibit a high performance as X-ray dosage enhancer in tumor cells. The radio-enhancing potential of uncoated and citrate-coated SPIONs was comprehensively studied for tumor and healthy cells. Pristine and citrate-coated SPIONs drastically differ in their water dispersibility and adsorption affinity for proteins. The activities of antioxidant enzymes in the healthy cells were shown to be significantly distinct from those in the tumor cells as containing a much higher H2O2 concentration. Pristine SPIONs catalyzed the Fenton reaction of hydrogen peroxide to the highly reactive hydroxyl radical in all cell types. In contrast, intracellular citrate-stabilized SPIONs were shown to be non-toxic and to do not affect the formation of reactive oxygen species. X-ray irradiation of citrate-stabilized SPIONs, when internalized by tumor cells, significantly boost the formation of hydroxyl radicals, whereas the healthy cells preserved their initial levels of reactive oxygen species.

Optimization of Mammary Tissue Displacement in Ultrasound Elastography 超声弹性成像中乳腺组织位移的优化

The displacement of mammary tissues in static ultrasound elastography is often contaminated by the speckle noise deteriorating its quality. Several techniques have been developed in this context, in order to treat the noise present in images of breast tissue displacement, the progress of research work in noise processing is always questioned, especially that must be taken into account the trade-off between noise reduction and preservation of breast tissue texture. In this paper, a new strategy has been proposed to reduce speckle noise. The proposed method not only filters the image against noise, but also preserves the details and contours of the tissue texture. The approach developed is based on the coupling between the image reconstructions by filtered back projection (RPF) with an adaptive filter. The proposed model proposed has been validated on an in-vivo database comprising 20 images of the breast tissues displacement. Qualitative and quantitative improvements were noted. By comparing the proposed method with the wavelet technique, we show that it is more efficient in terms of calculating the standard deviation between the pixels (SD), it is better in terms of calculation of the Contrast / Noise ratio (CNR). And is much faster than the wavelet technique. The results of the proposed model are encouraging, and the chosen method is ready to be used in the improvement of images of mammary tissue displacements in ultrasound elastography.

This study was directed at study the effectiveness of cancer targeted therapy using the activated Chlorine E6 nanocomposite (Nano-CE6). Study was applied on male Swiss albino mice, implanted with Ehrlich tumor (EAC) divided into six groups. Two energy sources were used; laser and Ultrasound. Results showed that Nano-CE6 is a potential sensitizer for photodynamic or sonodynamic treatment of tumor. Nano-CE6 plays an important role in tumor growth inhibition and cell death induction. Activated Nano-CE6 with both infrared laser and ultrasound has a potential antitumor effect. The results indicated that (FA–NGO–CE6) could be used as a unique nanocomposite for cancer targeted therapy SPDT.
