The development of computer-assisted instruction game on mirror reflection concepts for junior high school students 初中生镜像概念计算机辅助教学游戏的开发

This research aims to develop computer-assisted instruction by using gamification elements on mirror reflection topics in Junior High School. The method used in this research was a descriptive method. The subject of this research is experts and students. Experts chosen in this research are one science expert, one media expert, and one science teacher. Students chosen in this research are fifty-seven students in 9 grade at one of junior high school. The gamification aspects were chosen to make the game were goals, science content, and challenging environment. The expert gave feedbacks in both media and the quality of the content aspects. Students were asked about their agreement level of the gamification elements and the effect of gamification. The effect of gamification asked were motivation, joyness, convenience, addiction, understanding improvement, attractiveness, and interactiveness. The result found that experts gave a good score towards this game. Students also agreed that the game has goals, science content, and challenging environment. The result also found that the gamification elements itself caused them to feel motivated, joy, convenience, addiction, improve their understanding, and attracted after playing the game. Other than that, students confirmed they have two ways of interaction with the game. More than half of total students got a score higher than the average score after playing the game.

Investigation of multiple intelligence of primary school students 小学生多元智力调查

The aim of this research is to investigate the ability of multiple intelligence (MI) of male and female students from primary school. The total sample was 71 students consisting of 35 experimental group students and 36 in the control group in a primary school in Cilegon City, 2016-2017 academic year. In this study, the experimental group consisted of male students using learning with the MI and the control group consisted of female students using learning with the MI approach. Analysis of data obtained from this study, using the Independent Sample t-test and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The findings of this study indicate that there is a statistically significant difference between the ability of MI in the experimental group and the control group, where the average score experimental group is higher. These results can be seen in the average score of MI ability in the experimental group is higher in visual-spatial, music, logical-mathematical, interpersonal and bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. The average score of MI ability in the control group is higher in verbal-linguistic, naturalistic, and intrapersonal. These concluded that the results of the Investigation of Multiple Intelligence (MI) of Primary School Students in the experimental group (male students) were better than the control group (female students).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran IPA berbasis discovery learning terintegrasi jajanan lokal daerah terhadap keterampilan proses sains. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP N1 Cangkringan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 32 peserta didik yang berasal dari satu kelas, yakni kelas VIII A. Perangkat pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) Silabus, (2) Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), dan (3) Lembar Kegiatan Peserta Didik. Adapun instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi keterampilan proses. Aspek yang dianalisis meliputi aspek keterampilan proses sains dasar dan terintergrasi. Setelah diperoleh rata – rata skor pada tiap aspek, rata – rata skor yang diperoleh kemudian diklasifikasikan menurut kategori sangat baik, baik, kurang, dan sangat kurang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, model pembelajaran IPA berbasis discovery learning terintegrasi jajanan lokal daerah efektif meningkatkan lima aspek keterampilan proses sains dasar, yaitu keterampilan mengobservasi, mengklasifikasi, memprediksi, menarik kesimpulan, dan mengkomunikasikan, serta lima aspek keterampilan proses sains terintegrasi, yaitu menginterpretasi data, mengontrol variabel, membuat hipotesis, mendefinisikan secara operasional, serta melakukan eksperimen. Science learning based on discovery integrated regional local snacks on student science process skills Abstract This study aimed to determine the effect of science learning based on discovery learning that was integrated with regional local snacks on student science process skills. This research was a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The population in this research were students of class VIII SMP N1 Cangkringan. The sample in this research was 32 students from one class, namely class VIII A. The learning tools used in this study were: (1) Syllabus, (2) Lesson Plan, and (3) Student Worksheet. The research instrument used in this research was the student science process skills observation sheet. The aspects analyzed include aspects of basic and integrated science process skills. After obtaining an average score in each aspect, the average score obtained is then classified according to the category of very good, good, low, and very low. The result shows that discovery learning integrated with regional local snacks is effective in improving five aspects of basic science process skills, namely observing, classifying, predicting, drawing conclusions, and communicating, as well as five aspects of integrated science process skills, namely interpreting data, controlling variables, make hypotheses, define operationally, and conduct experiments.

Differences between Indonesia and Singapore based on PISA 2015: Five-factor students’ perception in science education 基于2015年PISA的印尼和新加坡差异:五因素学生对科学教育的认知

As a neighbouring country whose location is very close, there is a unique fact where the results of the PISA study show very different results between Indonesia and Singapore. Students' perceptions of learning have an important role to detect the quality of learning. Thus, this study aims to determine the factors of student perception of natural science learning and the differences between the two countries based on these factors. The sample in this study were 5870 Indonesian students and 5272 Singaporean students who took the 2015 PISA survey. The research data were the results of the PISA survey (codes ST098, ST100, ST103, and ST104) regarding student perception of natural science learning. The data analysis technique used is Principal Component Analysis to detect factors and Discriminant Analysis to show differences between the two countries. Students' perceptions of science learning in Singapore and Indonesia can be classified into five factors: Practicum, Assistant, Explorative, Counseling, and Collaborative. Based on these factors, there are differences in the perception of the implementation of science learning between Indonesian and Singaporean students. Indonesian students tend to be stronger in defining that science learning is full of exploration, collaboration, and teachers play the role of counselor very well, while Singapore students feel more than practical learning based on science and teachers provide student assistance in dealing with difficulties in the learning process.

Profiling the context of natural history teacher candidate for the elementary school degree through web-based inquiry 基于网络探究的小学自然历史教师候选人情境分析

Web-Based Inquiry is an important investigative activity that should be implemented in the classroom. Such investigative activity, or investigation in general, serves as the basis for a researcher to develop his or her study. In relation to this initiative, the ICT-based learning capacity becomes a significant part since this capacity serves as the basis for the utilization of the Web-Based Inquiry, which has been marked by the capacity of operating the overall investigation information from the ICT-based learning. Departing from this elaboration, the objective of the study is to describe the capacity of ICT information and the delivery of the preliminary information for the needs of the Web-Based Inquiry. During the conduct of the study, the purposive sampling technique was implemented in order to define the number of the sample. As a result, 66 students from Batch 2019 of Lampung University were selected as the subjects for the study. Then, the data gathering instrument that had been implemented was the investigation (ICT-Based Learning) questionnaire. The data that had been gathered then were descriptively analysed. The results of the study show that the biggest data portion has been found in the use of the Internet-accessing tool although the score of this biggest portion falls into the “Low” category (under 25%). Thus, it might be implied that the Natural History teacher candidates have relatively not internalized the awareness and the best innovation in combining the lesson and the use of ICT through the ways that are more understandable for the students.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan dan kelayakan web-LKS IPA terintegrasi lingkungan lahan gambut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model 4D (define, design, develop, dan disseminate) dan desain penelitian pretest posttest control group design. Penilaian kelayakan produk web-LKS IPA dilakukan oleh ahli materi, ahli media untuk kelayakan produk, guru IPA sebagai penilai kepraktisan dan respon siswa untuk mengetahui keterbacaan produk. Perolehan skor hasil penilaian kelayakan oleh ahli materi sebesar 53 (sangat baik) pada skor maksimal 56, oleh ahli media sebesar 38 (sangat baik) pada skor maksimal 40 dan penilaian kepraktisan oleh guru IPA dengan skor 53 (sangat baik) pada skor maksimal 56. Uji keterbacaan oleh siswa memperoleh persentase sebesar 95% dengan respon positif. Hasil skor gain ternormalisasi menunjukkan peningkatan dalam pembelajaran dengan perolehan skor rata-rata sebesar 0,51 pada kelas eksperimen dan tergolong pada kategori tinggi. Uji independent sample t test digunakan untuk mengetahui keefektifan dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (> 0.05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan web-LKS IPA terintegrasi lingkungan lahan gambut efektif meningkatkan literasi lingkungan siswa SMP Negeri 1 Pelaihari. Web-LKS natural science integrated local potential of peatlands to increase student environmental literacy  AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness and feasibility of an integrated IPA LKS web environment. An Analysis of Gender Difference on Students’ Misconceptions in Learning the Material Classification and Its Changes 学生学习材料分类误区的性别差异及其变化分析

Every teacher has experiences to identify and find out students who have misconceptions in their classrooms. Misconceptions that occur can differ between male and female students. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of gender on misconceptions in the lesson of the material classification and its changes. The survey-aiming method was used in this study. A total of 62 students from one of the state junior high schools in the city of Surakarta consisting of 34 male students and 28 female students were involved as the subjects in this study. Identification of misconceptions was conducted using the Two-tier multiple-choice diagnostic instrument that was equipped with the Certainty of Response Index method. The formulation of this study problem was: “How are the differences of misconceptions between male and female students in learning the material classification and its changes?” This study showed that female students tended to have misconceptions on the competency achievement indicator vis-a-vis explaining the understanding of elements, compounds and mixtures, while male students tended to have misconceptions on the competency achievement indicator pertinent to distinguishing elements, compounds, and mixtures. In general, female students had better conceptual knowledge than male students. The two-tier multiple-choice instrument could be used as an alternative instrument to identify misconceptions among students. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for educators to identify and resolve students’ misconceptions

Tujuan penelitian ini mengembangkan produk berupa Game ritual tumpe untuk peserta didik SMP Kelas VII. Penelitian menggunakan metode research and developement (R & D) yang dikembangkan oleh Thiagarajan. Penelitian mengacu pada model 4D: define (mendefinisikan), design (mendesain), develop (mengembangkan) dan disseminate (menyebarluaskan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan valid atau memenuhi kriteria kelayakan. Kategori kelayakan yang diperoleh dari ahli media dan juga guru adalah sangat valid. Implementasi media pembelajaran di dalam kelas dapat meningkatkan partisipasi aktif peserta didik sehingga berdampak pada peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Jenis penelitian menggunakan quasi eksperimen, menggunakan kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Gain score yang diperoleh pada saat pretest dan posttes pada kelas eksperimen menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan. Nilai gain score kelas eksperimen diperoleh 0,67 dan kelas kontrol 0,54 dengan kategori sedang. Efektivitas pembelajaran dilakukan dengan uji Manova dengan perolehan nilai sig. sebesar 0.000 (<0.05). Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan valid, praktis dan efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran sains di kelas VII SMP. Develop critical thinking skills with tumpe ritual games AbstractThe aim of this study was to develop product in the form of a Tumpe Ritual Game for Class VII junior high school students. The result of the study indicates that learning media developed is valid or meet the eligibility criteria. The feasibility category obtained from media experts and also the teacher is highly valid. The implementation of learning media in the classroom can increase students' active participation so that it has an impact on improving critical thinking skill. This type of research uses quasi-experimental, using the control class and the experimental class. Gain scores obtained at the pre-test and post-test in the experimental class showed significant differences. The  gain score of experimental class was 0.67 and the control class was 0.54 with the medium category. The effectiveness of learning was done by Manova test with the acquisition of sig values. amounting to 0,000 (<0.05). These condition indicated that the media developed was valid, practical and effective to be used in the process of learning science in class VII SMP.

Application rasch model using R program in analyze the characteristics of chemical items 基于R程序的rasch模型在化学物品特性分析中的应用

Chemistry is one of the subjects taught in high school. To find out and assess students' understanding regarding chemistry subjects in one semester can be proven by a test. The tests used must have good quality. This study aims to provide information about the characteristics of chemical items test using the Rasch model. Descriptive explorative was used in this study. The subject of the study were tenth grade students in Xaverius Senior High School taken the final semester examination on chemistry subject. The object of this research were  the form of item tests and student answer sheets. Data collection techniques used documentation. Student answer sheets were analyzed using the R program. The results showed that the reliability of the item tests was 0.3 to 0.54 or medium category. Subsequently acquired a good level of difficulty about which amounted to 28 items. In addition, the average student ability is 0.008 with a minimum ability of -2.309 and a maximum of 2.233. ICC and IIC obtained are very accurate in predicting students' abilities. Chemicals items used in the final semester examination  can be used by teachers as a item bank for use in the evaluation of students' abilities. However, there are two items that need to be revised level of difficulty to produce a good question.

This study aims to reveal: (1) the feasibility of the developed Discovery Learning using Multiple Representations (DLMRs) model on the subject matter “Substance Pressure and its Application in Daily Life” for grade 8 students of SMP, (2) the practicality of the developed DLMRs model for science teachers and grade 8 students of SMP, and (3) the effectiveness of the developed DLMRs model in improving the science process and critical thinking skills of grade 8 students of SMP. This research is research and development adapting the development procedures by Borg & Gall which consisted of 10 steps: (1) research and information collection, (2) planning, (3) developing the preliminary form of product, (4) preliminary field testing, (5) main product revision, (6) main field testing, (7) operational product revision, (8) operational field testing, (9) final product revision, and (10) dissemination and implementation. The limited trial subjects consist of 15 students of class VIII.4 SMPN 1 Watopute. The subjects of the field trial in the experimental class consist of 31 students of class VIII.1 and those in the control class consist of 32 students of class VIII.3 SMPN 1 Watopute. The used sampling technique is cluster sampling. The instrument of data collection is an essay test to measure critical thinking skills, observation sheets to measure science process skills, questionnaires to determine the readability of the DLMRs student worksheet, and questionnaires to determine student and teacher responses to DLMRs model. The data analysis technique used is the MANOVA test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that: (1) the developed DLMRs model was feasible to implement based on experts judgment, (2) the DLMRs model is practical for teaching science based on responses given by teachers and students, (3) the DLMRs model is effective for improving students' science process skills, (4) the DLMRs model is effective for enhancing students' critical thinking skills.
