The body has been scrutinized in various researches as a representation device capable of revealing certain states of existence of the person in his different aspects of life. It has been the subject of sociological, philosophical, biological, anthropological or psychologi - cal studies. Certain subjects such as illness, passion, pleasure and suffering, metamorphoses, identity or social taboos have been studied in their relationship to the body and have allowed a deeper knowledge of the individual, the “self” and personal identity. Hervé Guibert follows in his work a project of self-unveiling that is realized in a hybrid field of image and text; especially when he falls ill and tells the story of a suffering body. A recurring theme in his work is the body, through which he tries to show what constitutes his identity, the deconstruction and finally the reconstruction of this identity through the prism of illness. Guibert observes himself from the outside look through the mirror or through the camera. Therefore, through the image of the body, he constructs the distinct levels of his self-narrative. Furthermore, writing thus becomes a way of survival for the author, a way of reconstructing a new identity.

This title may surprise at first sight. What connection can exist between the idea of the mutilated body and the few Tristan manuscripts, a myth famous for praising the idyllic love of a young and physically harmonious couple but whose morals may be considered extraordinary? I suggest in this essay that Béroul’s Tristan does not celebrate a unique form of love as it uses the image of deformed bodies to weave a narrative on a plot that cannot work nor go the distance without them. After showing how the image of the deviant body occupies every page, I propose to consider what this omnipre sence of other bodies tells us about how to interpret the text itself. In other words, the body of the text and its form, i.e. the mutilated shape of the manuscript of Béroul’s Tristan, are directly connected.

Medieval hagiographic legends are rich in lives of transvestite saints. The question of the body is central insofar as its gender is hi - dden. The case of the life of St. Marina presents a particularity since the young girl does not choose to assume a man’s habit, it is her father who disguises her when she is still young in order to take her with him to the monastery. She then led a chaste life under a monk’s habit, but she was falsely accused of seduction and of getting a woman pregnant. St. Marina did not seek to reveal her true identity in order to be cleared of these accusations, but agreed to do penance. The punishment she undergoes places her on the fringes of society and mistreats her body. This terrestrial body, damaged by physical needs, is sublimated when it becomes celestial, that is when the saint joins the kingdom of heaven. A dialogue is established between the terrestrial body and the celestial body, between the flesh and the soul, with the aim of edifying Christians to learn to see beyond appearances. The present study aims to illustrate the route towards the sexual appropriation of the female body in the literary fiction of the Puerto Rican writer Giannina Braschi (1957 -). The case of Yo-Yo Boing! , belonging to the Puerto Rican diaspora literature, problematizes the perception of the body in connection with the (de)construction of a social identity. First, an overview of feminist issues in the Carribbean will lead us to better understand the choice made in the representation of the human body by the writer. Later, we will look at the self-eroti-cism generated by the protagonist’s body, both source of pleasure and disgust, and on the way in which it allows to upset the male authority over the female corporality. Thus, the radicalization of the en-joyment and sexualization of the female body, in a context like that of Puerto Rico, where hybridism is the dominant, becomes not only a reappropriation of biopolitical freedom, but a foreshadow of the gender binarism’s deconstruction toward a queer era.

The Christian poetry of the Late Roman Empire has a rather delayed start when compared to the bulk of the other patristic writings. However, these tarried beginnings are spectacularly recovered during the second half of the 4th century through the significant contributions of learned authors such as Ambrose of Mediolanum and Prudentius. Our present study dwells on a few poetic fragments of Prudentius’s works in which the Spaniard writer deals with the pro blem of writing itself. When read attentively, these fragments reveal that the writer is aware of the novelty of his Christian poetry within the context of a monumental pagan culture. An admirer of the achievements of the Roman-Greek world, Prudentius does not proceed to a complete rebuttal of the classical writers. Instead, he makes good use of the cultural thesaurus of the Antiquity to create a worthy and ori ginal corpus of poetic writings.
拉丁美洲的宗教表达是拉丁美洲的首次亮相(a doua jumurtate a secolului IV)。 În studiul nostru, observulm cteva fragment in scrierile lui Prudenţiu care indicu un -努力creator pentru a nzestra Biserica nceputurilor or operu consistent care souru poatu sta alalturi de lucrrecrile consacrate ale Antichităţii clasice precgale ne。Pasajele avute n vedere creioneazei elemente de artiticticei, o reflecţie asupra scrisului propriu i asupra finalităţilor acestuia;属于ţiu我ş骑şte talentul诗意şabilităţile culturale de excepţie pentru克雷亚oă歌剧院valoroasăş我fascinantăş我astăzi oferăcercetătorului posibilităţ我内ănuite de interpretare。
