This research is based on the rapid development of the culinary and information technology. The difficulties in communicating with the culinary expert and on recipe documentation make a proper support for media very important. Therefore, a web-based database application for the public is important to help the culinary community in communication, searching and recipe management. The aim of the research was to design a web-based database application that could be used as social media for the culinary community. This research used literature review, user interviews, and questionnaires. Moreover, the database system development life cycle was used as a guide for designing a database especially for conceptual database design, logical database design, and physical design database. Web-based application design used eight golden rules for user interface design. The result of this research is the availability of a web-based database application that can fulfill the needs of users in the culinary field related to communication and recipe management.

Based on the informal survey, learning algorithm time complexity in a theoretical manner can be rather difficult to understand. Therefore, this research proposed Complexitor, an educational tool for learning algorithm time complexity in a practical manner. Students could learn how to determine algorithm time complexity through the actual execution of algorithm implementation. They were only required to provide algorithm implementation (i.e. source code written on a particularprogramming language) and test cases to learn time complexity. After input was given, Complexitor generated execution sequence based on test cases and determine its time complexity through Pearson correlation. An algorithm time complexity with the highest correlation value toward execution sequence was assigned as its result. Based on the evaluation, it can be concluded this mechanism is quite effective for determining time complexity as long as the distribution of given input set is balanced.

The purpose of this research was to review and implement interactive audio visual media used in an educational game to improve elementary students’ interest in learning mathematics. The game was developed for desktop platform. The art of the game was set as 2D cartoon art with animation and audio in order to make students more interest. There were four mini games developed based on the researches on mathematics study. Development method used was Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) that consists of requirement, design, development, testing, and implementation phase. Data collection methods used are questionnaire, literature study, and interview. The conclusion is elementary students interest with educational game that has fun and active (moving) objects, with fast tempo of music, and carefree color like blue. This educational game is hoped to be an alternative teaching tool combined with conventional teaching method.

Partial Least Squares (PLS) method was developed in 1960 by Herman Wold. The method particularly suits with construct a regression model when the number of independent variables is many and highly collinear. The PLS can be combined with other methods, one of which is a Continuous Wavelet Transformation (CWT). By considering that the presence of outliers can lead to a less reliable model, and this kind of transformation may be required at a stage of pre-processing, the data is free of noise or outliers. Based on the previous study, Kendari hotel room occupancy rate was affected by the outlier, and it had a low value of R2. Therefore, this research aimed to obtain a good model by combining the PLS method and CWT transformation using the Mexican Hats them other wavelet of CWT. The research concludes that merging the PLS and the Mexican Hat transformation has resulted in a better model compared to the model that combined the PLS and the Haar wavelet transformation as shown in the previous study. The research shows that by changing the mother of the wavelet, the value of R2 can be improved significantly. The result provides information on how to increase the value of R2. The other advantage is the information for hotel managements to notice the age of the hotel, the maximum rates, the facilities, and the number of rooms to increase the number of visitors.

The increasing availability of online information has triggered an intensive research in the area of automatic text summarization within the Natural Language Processing (NLP). Text summarization reduces the text by removing the less useful information which helps the reader to find the required information quickly. There are many kinds of algorithms that can be used to summarize the text. One of them is TF-IDF (TermFrequency-Inverse Document Frequency). This research aimed to produce an automatic text summarizer implemented with TF-IDF algorithm and to compare it with other various online source of automatic text summarizer. To evaluate the summary produced from each summarizer, The F-Measure as the standard comparison value had been used. The result of this research produces 67% of accuracy with three data samples which are higher compared to the other online summarizers.

Basically, when waves pass an uneven basis, then this wave will be split into transmission and reflection waves. First of all, it will be shown that a sinusoidal seabed can lead to the phenomenon of Bragg resonance. Bragg resonance occurs when the wave-length comes at twice the wave-length of a sinusoidal basis. The method used to obtain approximation solution is a multi-scale asymptotic expansion method. A research on the effect of Bragg resonance on sinusoidal basis had been studied. Sinusoidal basis can reduce the amplitude of the incoming wave so that the amplitude of the wave transmission is quite small. In these researcher, the coast is assumed ideal and can absorb all the energy of the wave transmission. If the beach can reflect waves, this indicates that the existence of sinusoidal basis is more harmful to the coast. This mechanism relies on the distance between the base sinusoidal and beaches. The present research will examined the influence of the base, when there was a beach of hard-wall on the right, which was perfectly capable of reflecting waves. Having regard to the phase difference, from super positioned waves when they hit the beach, so it can determine the safert and the most dangerous distance.

The research was conducted as a qualitative study of the website to deeper explore and examine the analysis of user perception of desktop and mobile website services. This research reviewed about user perception of desktop and mobile service website used by using qualitative methods adapted to WebQual and User Experience approach. This qualitative research refered to the theoretical reference written by Creswell (2014). The expected outcome is to know the user perceptions of the available services and information in the website along with the possibility of desktop and mobile gap arising from differences in the two services. These results can be used as a service model on the website of the user experience.

In facing globalization era, companies need to have innovation to survive in business competition. A change is needed to make a successful inovation, when a company needs a leader who has a strong managerial ability. The application of technology, in this case is business intelligence (BI), is an innovation that can becarried out by the management leader to survive in the complex world competition by finding appropriate decisions to solve business problems. This article was a literature review that concerned to exploration of the role of leadership and managerial ability in the application of BI on First American Company (FAC). The authors retrieved articles from google scholar with keywords, such as: leadership, managerial ability, and business. The implementation of BI on FAC proves to be a successful innovation formulated by the managementwho manage to change the company's financial situation that loss into a profit and managed to become the market leaders. This research dealt with making comparison of the independent group tests with the use of parametric technique. This test used mean as its central tendency measure. It was a better alternative to the ANOVA, the Welch test and the James test, because it gave a good control of Type I error rates and high power with ease in its calculation, for variance heterogeneity under a normal data. But the test was found not to be robust to non-normal data. Trimmed mean was used on the test as its central tendency measure under non-normality for two group condition, but as the number of groups increased above two, the test failed to give a good control of Type I error rates. As a result of this, the MOM estimator was applied on the test as its central tendency measure and is not influenced by the number of groups. However, under extreme condition of skewness and kurtosis, the MOM estimator could no longer control the Type I error rates. In this study, the Winsorized MOM estimator was used in the AG test, as a measure of its central tendency under non-normality. 5,000 data sets were simulated and analysed for each of the test in the research design with the use of Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) package. The results of the analysis shows that the Winsorized modified one step M-estimator in the Alexander-Govern (AGWMOM) test, gave the best control of Type I error rates under non-normality compared to the AG test, the AGMOM test, and the ANOVA, with the highest number of conditions for both lenient and stringent criteria of robustness.

The companies are facing some risks due to changes in a dynamic environment. If risks are not managed properly, it will have some negative impacts on the companies at the present and the future. One important function of the Information Technology (IT) governance is risk management. Risk management in IT project aims to provide a safe environment for IT projects undertaken. Risk management becomes an important process for the success of IT projects. This article discussed the risk of IT project and whether there was a relationship between risk management and the success of the project. The method used was performing a literature review of several scientific articles which published between 2010 and 2014. The results of this study are the presence of risk management and risk manager influence the success of the project. Risk analysis and risk monitoring and control also have a relationship with the subjective performance of IT projects. If risk management is applied properly, the chance of the success of the projects undertaken can be increased.
