Experimental Frequency-Domain Characterization of Fundamental Guided Mode Parameters in Coupled Coplanar Waveguide 耦合共面波导基模参数的实验频域表征

The experimental method of propagation coefficient and characteristic impedance estimation of fundamental guided modes in coupled coplanar waveguide (C-CPW) is presented in the paper. The method employs feeding transitions which allow to excite desired mode and measure parameters of transmission line with use of standard two-port vector network analyzer (VNA). Characteristic impedance is determined from easily measured propagation coefficient and static capacitance per unit length estimated from time-domain reflectometry (TDR) measurement. The results were checked against numerical data computed with use of the Spectral Domain Approach. Satisfactory degree of convergence between measured and numerical data has been achieved proving usefulness of worked out technique.

Multiple Reflect Technique for Wideband One-Port VNA Calibration 宽带单端口VNA标定的多反射技术

We present a statistical technique for one-port vector network analyzer (VNA) calibration based on multiple reflect and a single reference standards. The multiple reflect standards are assumed to be partly unknown and of the same type, e.g. offset terminations. Their reflection coefficients are modeled over frequency and identified during the calibration along with the VNA error terms. This novel technique is particularly useful for millimeter-wave VNA calibrations in which conventional transmission line standards and the TRL method become impractical. Experimental verification shows that the accuracy of our technique is very high and comparable with the one-port measurement accuracy of the multiline TRL method.

Time-Frequency Characteristics of Ultra-Wideband Signals for Radio Systems 无线电系统超宽带信号的时频特性

The time and frequency analysis of ultra-wideband (UWB) signals for radiocommunication systems is presented in the paper. The results of computation are shown. A process of synthesis of the ultra-wideband signals from the spectrum for different parameters is analyzed. The influence of limitations of signals' spectrums over the shape of rebuilt pulses is discussed. Distortions of popular Gaussian and Rayleigh pulses in UWB band 3.1-10.6 GHz are shown.

Custom Fabricated High-Q Analog Dual-Gap RF MEMS Varactors 定制制造高q模拟双间隙RF MEMS变容管

An RF MEMS capacitor design, fabrication and measurement is described. The capacitor's dual gap height architecture allows for continuous electrostatic tuning with low resistive loss and a large tuning range. Two voltage sources are used to reach the full tuning potential of the device. Measurements indicate a capacitance tuning range of 6.2:1 with a quality factor over 50 at 30 GHz for 310 fF.

Time-Frequency Analysis of Radar Backscattered Signals using Phase Coupled Frequencies Extracted from Time-Varying Bispectrum Estimates 基于时变双谱估计提取相位耦合频率的雷达后向散射信号时频分析

A new approach to time-frequency analysis of radar echo responses obtained from moving objects is represented. The suggested approach is based on the extraction of phase-coupled harmonics from time-varying bispectrum estimates of transient sequences separated from the total radar backscattered signal by a sliding window. A coherent, homodyne, and continuous-wave radar has been employed for measuring multi-component, non-stationary, and nonlinear frequency modulated signals backscattered by moving objects. The experimental study underpinned with the theoretical assumptions of the suggested approach has demonstrated clean recovery of time-varying phase-coupled frequencies for test targets like a swinging metallic sphere or a walking human. The obtained time-frequency distributions of phase-coupled harmonics can be recommended as a new information feature in automatic radar target recognition systems.

Master Oscillator Design for the VUV-FEL Project VUV-FEL项目的主振荡器设计

The VUV-FEL [1] is a free electron laser facility being commissioned at DESY [2] Hamburg. It includes seven RF stations distributed over a distance of 300 meters. Multiple RF devices at each station operating at frequencies in the range of 1 MHz to 2.8 GHz must be synchronized with sub picosecond accuracy. To fulfil the short and long term synchronization requirements a phase reference distribution system has been developed. It consists of a master oscillator (MO), signal distribution system and a fiber-optic phase monitoring link [3]. This paper describes the most important design issues of the MO. Phase noise and phase drift are addressed and the appropriate solutions used for minimizing those sources of errors are presented. Current status of the MO is described with measurement confirming the required performance.

Analysing of GSM Signals by Means of IFM Receiver 利用IFM接收机分析GSM信号

This article concerns application of instantaneous frequency measurement IFM receiver for monitoring of telecommunication signals. The investigations were performed with the aid of two microwave frequency discriminators MFD built in microstrip technique. The experimental kit enabled to measure of parameters of the mobile phones' and GSM base station's signals. Such information is very useful, for instance, for quick control of operation correctness of telecommunication and other microwave devices.

FMCW Radar Transmitter Based on DDS Synthesis 基于DDS合成的FMCW雷达发射机

This paper presents some design problems and aspects of building FMCW radar transmitter based on DDS. Significant parameters of this radar are small targets detection possibility, small resolution cell and high range resolution. It requires resolving a problem of generation microwave signals with excellent linear frequency modulation and very good phase noise performance. One of possible solution is DDS (direct digital synthesis) technology, which is rapidly advancing.

In this paper dielectric filling is presented as a simple way of adapting ridged horn antenna for ground penetrating radar (GPR). The requirements for GPR antenna were described to justify the choice of dielectric ridged horn as a simple handheld device aimed to landmines finding. An attempt of detection of the buried metal plate is also shown.

This paper presents detailed circuit description and test results for the simple low-IF image rejection receiver. The receiver is tunable over 1340 - 1500 MHz (typ.) frequency range and provides about 40 dB of image rejection without adjustments. The circuit was manufactured in a 0.8 μm CMOS technology from Austria Microsystems.

The receiver is tunable over 1340 - 1500 MHz (typ.) frequency range and provides about 40 dB of image rejection without adjustments.
