Design of broadband digital phase shifters based on switchable right/left-handed transmission lines is considered. Different practical implementations of the phase shifters designed as microstrip and coplanar multilayer structures containing an artificial quasi-lumped-element left-handed transmission line and an artificial or natural right-handed transmission line are presented.

The Data Fusion Techniques for Tasks Ranking in Multifunction Radar 多功能雷达任务排序中的数据融合技术

The paper presents the problem of tasks ranking in multifunction radar resources management. The data fusion tasks ranking approach is discussed. The neural network, fuzzy inference system, hybrid fuzzy-neural and fuzzy-probabilistic ranking algorithms are presented. The information sources for tasking process have been selected and discussed. Evaluation of the performance of the ranking process is based on defined costs of removal/delay measures. The testing results are shown and discussed.

Monopulse IFF interrogator antenna with optimised parameters, minimising the possibility of generating false replies by transponder 优化参数的单脉冲敌我识别询问器天线,最大限度地减少应答器产生错误应答的可能性

This paper describes the results of field research and measures conducted by CNPEP RADWAR S.A. of solutions used in monopulse antenna for portable interrogator "friend or foe" IFF set with optimised parameters, minimising or practically eliminating false replies from friendly objects remaining on the back radiation hemisphere. This solution has a crucial importance on the battlefield for the survivability and the ability to minimise losses caused by fratricidal fire. The author has conducted field tests of the real equipment configuration taking into consideration the probability of identification as the main evaluation criteria instead of traditional antenna coverage diagram. The results fully confirmed the operational requirements for the designed antenna. The basic idea of design can be applied to any other antenna system, especially for secondary radiolocation devices.

Polarisation of Electromagnetic Waves Analysis for Application in Mobile Communication Systems 电磁波极化分析在移动通信系统中的应用

The polarisation property of electromagnetic waves for applications in mobile communication systems has not been examined into detail yet. Due to multi-path effects and changes in the underlying coordinate systems of the involved antennas, the polarisation state of an electromagnetic wave at the receiving antenna of a mobile station is very likely to change. The presented project involves a data measurement and detailed visual investigation of these polarisation properties in the field of GSM mobile communication at the frequency band 1800 MHz. The measuring system mounted on a special car moves along a predefined trajectory around a GSM telecommunication cell. The collected data, which are received from a dual polarisation antenna, together with the information of the location, orientation and velocity of the system, which is provided by other sensors, is subsequently processed by the standard signal analysis hardware and the digital signal processing software, so that the polarisation behaviour of the received wave can be identified and visualized. The visualisation system is based on a digitized map into which the data received from GPS is inserted specifying the actual position of the measuring system. A particular polarisation state is simultaneously assigned to the position data in the digital map. The data analysis and signal filtering is performed to estimate multi-path propagation effects and to reduce the influence of them on the quality of the link. The results of this project could be for instance used in future generations of wireless mobile communication systems, where the polarisation dependent effects may contribute to increase reliability and capacity of the transmission service. This research was performed within the AMPER project, which is supported by the EU Commission.

In this paper the instantaneous frequency measurement systems with simultaneous signals capability using Prony's algorithm has been presented. Experimental dates have been shown and compared to theoretical analysis. Some problems that stem from this approach have been indicated and the solutions of them have been proposed.

An Array Antenna with Wideband Beam Steering Capability Emplyoing Spatial Signal Processing 一种基于空间信号处理的宽带波束转向阵列天线

An array antenna with capability of beam steering in azimuth over a wide frequency band using only spatial signal processing is presented. Filters and tapped-delay networks employed in conventional wideband linear arrays are avoided by using a two-dimensional rectangular array structure. In this array, only constant real-valued weighting coefficients, realized using amplifiers or attenuators, are used to form a desired radiation pattern. In order to estimate direction of arrival of a wideband signal, the MUSIC algorithm in conjunction with an interpolated array technique is applied. In the interpolated array technique, a composite covariance matrix is generated, which is a simple addition of covariance matrices of narrowband virtual arrays, being stretched or compressed versions of a nominal array. A working prototype of this wideband array is presented. Its operation is assessed via full EM simulations and measurements.

This paper describes a synthesis approach that employs a phase locked source that generates RF signals from 4 GHz to 8 GHz in 1 MHz steps. The synthesizer consists of two major parts: RF source and control unit. The design of the control unit provides a low frequency step size, very high frequency accuracy and short-and long-term stability.

Grating-Induced Waveguiding of Surface-Skimming Bulk Waves 掠面体波的光栅诱导波导

There is ever growing interest in faster surface waves for applications in surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices. Faster SAW means higher frequency operation for the same technological difficulty of making metal strips of interdigital transducers (IDTs) of micrometer width and nanometer resolution. The fastest acoustic waves are the bulk waves which cannot propagate at the substrate surface nor yield strong interaction with IDTs over longer propagation distances required in the SAW filters for narrow-band devices; the surface signal of bulk waves quickly vanish due to the wave propagation (and diffraction) into depth of the body. There is however, a remedy for it: the surface grating like periodic grooves or periodic metal strips (being these of the applied IDTs in the device), can help to trap the bulk wave at the surface making it a complex surface wave-guided mode. This phenomena is analyzed in this paper using the earlier developed spectral theory method in contrast to the couple-of-modes method presented afterwards. Here, only mechanical fields are discussed.

Characterization of Thick-Film Dielectric at Microwave Frequencies 微波频率下厚膜介质的表征

In this paper results of accurate measurements of relative permittivity and dielectric loss tangent of photoimageable dielectric Fodel 6050 has been presented. The measurement method uses a split-post dielectric resonator and enables characterisation of dielectric properties of planar thick-film layers deposited on low loss dielectric substrates. Measurements have been performed on two Fodel films deposited on alumina and sapphire substrates employing two split post dielectric resonators at frequencies 19.3 GHz and 19.9 GHz.

SiGe HBT Wideband Amplifier for Millimetre Wave Applications 用于毫米波应用的SiGe HBT宽带放大器

A wideband amplifier up to 50 GHz has been implemented in a 0.25 mum, 200 GHz ft SiGe BiCMOS technology. Die size was 0.7 times 0.73 mm2. The two-stage design achieves more than 11 dB gain over the whole 20 to 50 GHz band. Gain maximum was 14.2 dB at 47.5 GHz. Noise Figure was lower than 9 dB up to 34 GHz and a current of 30 mA was drawn from a 4 V supply. To the author's best knowledge this is the highest gain bandwidth product of a monolithic SiGe HBT amplifier ever reported.
