Measurement of real channel parameters of FPGA based OFDM system 基于FPGA的OFDM系统真实信道参数的测量

Development of wireless technologies has enhanced the need for high data rate support from physical layer. The design of the LTE physical layer (PHY) is heavily influenced by the requirements for high peak transmission rate, spectral efficiency, and multiple channel bandwidths. The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is based on using multiple narrow band sub-carriers spread over a wide channel bandwidth. The sub-carriers are mutually orthogonal in the frequency domain which mitigates inter symbol interference (ISI). For real channel communication the channel is prone to shadowing, path loss and fading. So for efficient communication the various channel condition should be analyzed. The main aim of the paper is to develop a FPGA based hardware test-bed to create an OFDM communication environment and measure relevant parameters in real channel condition. This system includes the application of FPGA based high speed data transceiver circuits and high speed communication protocol and efficient and effective signal processing and conditioning.

Design of Hybrid Fuzzy-PI controller for speed control of Brushless DC motor 无刷直流电动机速度控制的模糊- pi混合控制器设计

This paper presents a Hybrid Fuzzy Proportional Integral controller for the speed control of Brushless DC (BLDC) motor. BLDC motors have many advantages over DC motors and induction motors. A fuzzy controller offers better speed response for start-up while PI controller has good compliance over variation of load torque but has slow settling response. Hybrid controller has an advantage of integrating a superiority of these two controllers for better control performances. In this paper, the classical PI controller is integrated with Fuzzy Logic controller to make hybrid control system with merits of both. Also it presents the comparative study between PI, Fuzzy, and hybrid Fuzzy-PI controller for the same. The dynamic characteristics of BLDC Motor such as speed, torque, current and back EMF are analyzed for varied load torque conditions through simulation under MATLAB SIMULINK environment.

Electrooculogram based cognitive context recognition 基于眼电图的认知语境识别

Recognition of cognitive context is an important aspect of context aware pervasive computing systems. The present work is aimed at identification of cognitive contexts of human beings from the analysis of their eye movements by acquiring Electrooculogram signals. These signals are represented through Adaptive Autoregressive Parameters, Hjorth Parameters and Wavelet Coefficients as signal features. Classification of the obtained feature spaces is carried out using Support Vector Machine with Radial Basis Function Kernel to distinctly identify a particular class of activity defining a person's cognitive context, achieving an average recognition accuracy of 91.825% for eight types of cognitive activities.

Comparative study of density of states of 1D photonic crystal for different polarization conditions of incident wave 入射波不同极化条件下一维光子晶体态密度的比较研究

In this paper, a comparative analysis is made for density of states profile of one-dimensional infinite photonic crystal under the incidence of electromagnetic wave with different polarizations (p- type and s-type). Semiconductor heterostructure is considered as the material for the periodic arrangement, and structural parameters are suitably varied to observe the effect on DOS function, characterized by blueshift and redshift. Adachi's model is considered to incorporate the dependencies of refractive indices on operative wavelength and material composition. Results are plotted with normalized wavelength. Positions of peaks speak about the possible emission/detection wavelength for photonic crystal based laser. Analysis is useful in designing optical memory and micro-laser devices.

Hill-Climbing approach for optimizing receiver bandwidth 优化接收机带宽的爬坡方法

The rapid growth in the ubiquitous wireless service has imposed increasing stress on the fixed and limited radio spectrum. Cognitive Radio (CR) is promising solution to the problem of overcrowded and inefficient use of licensed spectrum. In this paper, Interference Temperature (IT) model is used to define the occupancy and availability of a channel. Interference temperature has been proposed by the FCC as a metric for interference analysis. Our goal is to find out the useable receiver bandwidth (BW) portion of available BW. Here we have applied the principle of Hill-Climbing algorithm. By the random selection of portion of a frequency band we have performed necessary experiment and calculated the value of Received signal strength indicator (RSSI) for a given sub-band. We have subsequently used this value to maximize the effective bandwidth of a given system.

Analysis of leakage feedback technique 泄漏反馈技术分析

Leakage power consumption has become serious concern for circuit designers. It is expected that leakage power will dominate the total power dissipation in future VLSI circuits. We here propose a new design named “NMOS leakage feedback” which reduces leakage current while saving exact logic state. The circuit technique includes addition of NMOS helper transistors to both pull-up and pull-down paths in order to reduce leakage current without affecting the other parameters of the circuit. Based on simulation with inverter chain using 32nm Berkeley predictive technology model, NMOS leakage feedback approach achieves less area, power and delay over leakage feedback approaches with proper W/L ratio.

Performance enhancement of object shape classification by coupling tactile sensing with EEG 触觉与脑电耦合增强物体形状分类性能

In this work we establish the fact that using Electroencephalogram (EEG) with tactile signal during dynamic exploration accomplishes object shape recognition better than using the either alone. Adaptive auto-regressive coefficients and Hjorth parameters are used as features which are classified using linear Support Vector Machine, Naïve Bayes, k-nearest neighbor and tree classifiers. Following this, the space complexity to store the high-dimensional tactile features is identified. ReliefF algorithm is used as a dimension reduction technique. A polynomial of order 6 is used to fit an EEG feature to a corresponding tactile feature. These pre-fitted polynomials are used to predict the EEG features in situation where EEG measuring device is not present. Finally we note that using these predicted features along with the tactile features yields enhanced classification accuracies.

This paper aims to design a nonlinear control scheme for a Static Var Compensator (SVC) in order to improve dynamic stability in a Single Machine Infinite Bus (SMIB) power system. The nonlinear model of the SMIB system is exactly linearized applying feedback linearization method, and the optimal control law is estimated by the Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) principle. The performance of the proposed nonlinear controller is compared with the performance of a conventional controller whose parameters are optimized through Genetic Algorithm (GA). The results and effectiveness of the proposed control schemes are presented employing time domain simulation and analysis. It has been observed that, in comparison with the conventional controller, significant improvements in dynamic stability of the test power system are achieved by the proposed nonlinear control strategy.
为了提高单机无限母线(SMIB)电力系统的动态稳定性,设计了一种静态无功补偿器(SVC)的非线性控制方案。采用反馈线性化方法对SMIB系统的非线性模型进行精确线性化,并利用线性二次型调节器(LQR)原理估计其最优控制律。将所提非线性控制器的性能与采用遗传算法优化参数的传统控制器的性能进行了比较。通过时域仿真和分析,给出了所提控制方案的效果和有效性。实验结果表明,与传统控制器相比,所提出的非线性控制策略显著提高了测试电力系统的动态稳定性。

Detection of Atrial Flutter using PRSA 心房扑动的PRSA检测

Automatic detection of different cardiac abnormalities is an emerging field of study in assistive diagnosis technology for cardiac diseases. A study on the feasibility of automatic detection of Atrial Flutter (AFL) based on time and frequency domain features has been presented in this paper to prevent the serious heart failure by detecting it at early stage. The proposed algorithm is developed based on feature subsets of a set of statistical time-frequency-domain parameters by using phase rectified signal average (PRSA) method. Classification of the abnormality using the derived features has been performed with the help of two class clustering method by Support Vector Machine (SVM). This classifier is tested on 382 and 587 numbers of AFL and normal cardiac cycles respectively taken from MIT-BIH Arrhythmia database. Satisfactory result is obtained as the 96% sensitivity and 98% specificity is observed.
