The purpose of this study was to determine the appropriate harvest age and the content of neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), acid detergent lignin (ADL), hemicellulose and cellulose of Indigofera zollingeriana growth in sapric type peatlands based on harvest age of maturity (2, 3, 4 and 5 months) after pruning. Indigofera zollingeriana foliage was obtained from the existing plot that is a ± 3.5 year old that grows in the research farm of the UIN Agriculture Research and Development Station Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. The research design used was a randomized complete block design (RCBD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 groups. The treatments were: (1) I. zollingeriana biomass harvested at 2 months of maturity; (2) I. zollingeriana biomass harvested at 3 months of maturity; (3) I. zollingeriana biomass harvested at 4 months of maturity; (4) I. zollingeriana biomass harvested at 5 months of maturity. The results showed that the differences in harvest age of I. zollingeriana at 2,3,4 and 5 months after pruning did not significantly (P>0.05) affect the content of NDF, ADF, hemicellulose and cellulose. However, the increase in harvest age of maturity from 4 to 5 months significantly (P <0.05) increased the ADL content of I. zollingeriana from 6.02% to 12.37%. Based on the research data, it can be concluded that the cell wall components of I. zollingeriana in the form of NDF, ADF, hemicellulose and cellulose were relatively stable on sapric type peatlands with an increase in harvest age from 2 to 5 months after pruning. However, the ADL content increased significantly at the 5 months of harvest age of maturity.

aureus, teat dipping ABSTRACT. The using of papaya leaf dekok (Carica papaya L.) as a natural disinfectant for teat dipping is the one of methods that can be done to prevent mastitis in Etawa crossbreed goat. Papaya leaf dekok contains alkaloids, triterpenoids, steroids, flavonoids, saponins and tannins that act as natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, so as to suppress the growth of Staphylococcus aureus which is the major bacteria that trigger udder inflammation (mastitis) for Etawa crossbreed goat. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four processes and four replicas. The replication in this study were 16 lactating Etawa crossbreed goat and their milk was taken as a sample. The treatment of this study consisted of P0= 10% povidone iodine, P1= 30% papaya leaf dekok, P2= 50% papaya leaf dekok and P3= 70% papaya leaf dekok. The parameter of study are pH value, total plate count (TPC) and the number of S. aureus in the Etawa crossbreed goat milk sample. The study showed that the use of papaya leaf dekok was not very significantly different (P>0,01) to maintain the values of pH (6,49 – 6,57), decrease the levels of TPC (1,794 x 10 6 – 0,034 x 10 6 ) and S. auerus colony (2,70 x 10 2 – 0,67 x 10 2 ) in the Etawa crossbreed goat milk sample. The conclusion of this study is that the use of papaya leaf dekok 70% (P3) as a teat dipping liquid is the best concentration treatment that has the same effect as leaf

. This study aims to determine the effect of different fermentation culture media on the production of Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) maggot. This research used experimental method completely randomized design (CRD) with 3x3 factorial pattern with 3 replications. Factor A was the type of culture medium used, A1: Coconut dregs, A2: Tofu dregs and A3: Wasted fruit. Factor B was the type of microorganism used,B1: EM-4, B2: Natura organic decomposer and B3: Probio-7. The variables observed were maggot production, fresh weight (kg), length (cm), population density (tail/cm 3 ) and crude protein content (%). The results showed that there was an interaction between factor A (type of media) and factor B (type of microbe) and had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on fresh weight and crude protein content of maggot, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the length and density of the maggot population. The conclusion of this research was tofu dregs culture medium fermented with Natura organic decomposer gives the best results, with the production of fresh weight 0.2215 kg, long 2.00 cm, population density 2.01 tails/cm 3 and crude protein content 52.40%.

The purpose of this study was to determine the performances of broiler chickens fed the diets containing leubim fish (Canthidermis maculata) waste meal. The research was conducted at the Field Laboratory of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University. As many as 80 broiler chicks of MB 202 strain, unsex, produced by PT Japfa, North Sumatra were used in the study. The chicks were fed experimental diets i.e. using leubim fish waste meal with the levels of 0, 4, 8, and 12%, respectively. The research was designed into Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications. Each replication was an experimental unit consisting of 5 chicks. The results of the study indicated that including leubim fish waste meal in the diet was very significantly increased (P<0.01) final body weight, average body weight gain, and feed consumption and decreased feed conversion of broiler chickens compared to the use of commercial local fish meal.

Sago waste is the result of agricultural waste whose use as feed is still very limited even though the amount is quite large but sago waste has a high crude fiber content, and low protein content so that is needs further processing, one of which is processing become a wafer complete ration. The study used the Complete Randomized Design (CDR), method with 4 treatments and 4 replications, which consisted of P0: complete wafer ration + 0% sago waste, P1: complete wafer ration + 10% sago waste, P2: complete wafer ration + 20% sago waste, P3: complete wafer ration + 30% sago waste. The parameters measured were the content of dry matter, crude protein, crude fat, crude fiber, ash content and nitrogen free extract, neutral detergen fiber, acid detergen fiber, acid detergen lignin, cellulosa and hemicellulosa. The result showed that the of the sago waste level to 30% can improve the dry matter, crude fiber, ash content and reduced the nitrogen free extract acid detergen fiber and acid detergen lignin. The addition of 30% sago waste level is the best treatment because can decrease neutral detergent fiber 74.09%-57.5%, acid detergent fiber 67.64%-54.23%, dan acid detergent lignin 39.03%-27.17%.
