Transmit diversity applied on the CDMA/TDD cellular systems CDMA/TDD蜂窝系统的发射分集

This paper shows that the result of cell search and open loop transmit divesty of CDMA/TDD. The TSTD type transmit diversity for the physical synchronisation channel (PSCH) can shorten the cell search time of user equipment (UE) at low Doppler frequency. The block STTD type transmit diversity for the primary common control channel (P-CCPCH) can improve the BER performance around 3 dB compared with a single antenna transmission. Furthermore the authors propose open loop type sector/cell selection handover. The improvement by using this scheme, as compared to hard handover, is almost 2 dB for between sectors and 1.1 dB to 1.6 dB for between cells, depending on the Doppler frequency. The change for the switching rate into 10 ms makes the gain of 0.8 dB at f/sub D/=53 Hz and 1.7 dB at f/sub D/=222 Hz, respectively.

A base station MMSE combining performance evaluation using /spl Gamma/ distribution function 基于/spl伽玛/分布函数的基站MMSE综合性能评估

This paper presents an alternative approach to approximately estimate the performance of the MMSE (minimum mean square error) combining at the base station. The performance of the MMSE combining is evaluated by the CDF (cumulative distribution function) of the output SINR (signal to noise and interference ratio). To evaluate the performance of the MMSE combining, the definition of the equivalent parameters is proposed. Based on the /spl Gamma/ distribution approximation (the moment matching), the equivalent parameters are found by 2 ways: (1) direct computation from simulation SINR, and (2) the signal subspace approach. As a result, the CDF approximated by using the equivalent parameters is compared with the CDF directly derived by the Monte-Carlo simulation. The moment matching is proved to be an effective approach to find the equivalent parameters. However, the accuracy of the approximated CDF by the moment matching dramatically degraded if we consider the situation where the desired signal can not be efficiently combined. In the other words, the equivalent parameters do not give the accurate results when the degree of freedom for desired signal decreases. Nevertheless, they still offer the ability to roughly evaluate the performance of the MMSE combining.

An adaptive multipath mitigation technique for GPS signal reception GPS信号接收中的自适应多径缓解技术

Multipath propagation is widely recognized as the main error source in differential GPS applications. This paper shows a multipath estimation/elimination technique for reducing both code and carrier multipath errors. An adaptive filtering process is used for estimating the parameters of direct plus multipath signals. Multipath elimination is, then, performed by substracting the estimated multipath effects from the measured correlation function. Simulation results show that the proposed technique is a viable solution for obtaining high accuracies even in multipath propagating environments.

Verification of 3G radio network dimensioning rules with static network simulations 基于静态网络仿真的3G无线网络尺寸规则验证

The third generation cellular systems will offer services well beyond the capabilities of today's networks. For an operator to optimise their business cases accurate methods are required for the capacity and coverage estimation. The scope of this paper is to concentrate on the first phase of the radio network planning process: radio network dimensioning. Dimensioning is providing the first rough estimate of the radio network's capabilities in terms of capacity, coverage and quality. In this work the radio network dimensioning rules and methods are introduced. Furthermore, the proposed methods are verified with radio network simulations. It has been demonstrated that the proposed methods work reasonable well even with relatively high bit rates. In addition to that it is shown that in case of WCDMA macrocell dimensioning it is not adequate to base the results on uplink only.

Call admission control in multi-class traffic CDMA cellular system using multiuser antenna array receiver 基于多用户天线阵列接收机的多类业务CDMA蜂窝系统呼叫接纳控制

We developed an admission control scheme for CDMA cellular system that supports multiple classes of traffic with different QoS requirements and incorporates adaptive power control and antenna array multiuser receiver. A relation of the cell capacity and other-cell interference level is first established via simulation. For multi-class traffic cellular system a notion of bandwidth utility is used to characterize cell capacity. The CAC scheme is then implemented distributively in each cell based on estimation of other-cell interference. The admission control decision is made by comparing capacity bandwidth utility and the sum of current bandwidth utility and new call bandwidth utility. In the simulation it is demonstrated that the CAC scheme can adapt to various traffic distribution. Capacity determined by the CAC algorithm agrees well with that given by simulation. Therefore it can achieve high bandwidth utilization while guarantee QoS requirements of all the users.

Performance analysis of an uplink power control using truncated channel inversion for data traffic in a cellular CDMA system 蜂窝CDMA系统中基于截断信道反转的上行功率控制性能分析

Truncated channel inversion is a form of power control that suspends mobile transmission when the wireless channel is in a bad condition. This paper systematically analyzes the performance of this scheme in a cellular CDMA system. We develop a queueing model to describe the stochastic behavior of a mobile's power activity. The system throughput, queueing delay, and power consumption are investigated using the model. Numerical results show that the truncated channel inversion scheme substantially improves throughput and reduces battery power consumption at the cost of extra queueing delay, which mainly depends on how fast the channel condition changes. We find that the truncated scheme works well, even for moderate mobile velocities.

An iterative decorrelator with multipath combiners for CDMA frequency-selective fading channels 一种用于CDMA选频衰落信道的多径合成器迭代去相关器

We investigate the performance of a multiuser receiver consisting of the decorrelator, which is implemented using an iterative method, and the multipath combiners for slowly-varying frequency-selective fading channels. The system considered here is an asynchronous direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) system. Using computer simulation, we evaluate and compare the performance of the multiuser receiver in terms of the bit error rate and system capacity. Simulation results show that the multiuser receiver achieves the same performance as that based on the conventional implementation, with much lower computational complexity.

WCDMA downlink capacity estimation WCDMA下行链路容量估计

A simple estimation for the WCDMA downlink capacity is presented. A general approximation is derived from the basic CDMA theory, and is then adapted to the scenario in question with the help of results from a number of reference system simulations. Comparison with the simulations shows that the obtained approximation is valid for a variety of system scenarios and services. Furthermore, it holds also in case of multiple simultaneous services. However, unless the effect of the receiver noise is taken into account, the applicability area of the approximation seems to be limited only to quite small cells.

Algebraic coding/decoding multi-user scheme 代数编码/解码多用户方案

A new scheme of multiple access using T-user codes over QAM modulation is presented. The new T-user codes are based on rotated constellations such that the resulting sum of all rotated versions of the considered QAM constellation, is uniquely decodable (Kasami and Lin, 1976). Furthermore, the minimum squared Euclidean distance d/sub m//sup 2/(S) of the resulted constellation is maximized over the group of rotations. Over the noiseless channel, we give a detection algorithm that profits from the algebraic structure of the T-user code.
