Using decision tree algorithm C4.5 to establish a classification rule and an analysis-forecasting model for students’marks. Describing how the analysis-forecasting result can be used to find out the factors which can affect students’ marks, so some negative learning habits or behaviors of students can be revealed and corrected in time. And the teaching effect of the teacher can be checked, the teaching management can also be assisted. The effectiveness and correctness of analysis and forecasting model and classification for students’ marks based on decision tree algorithm C4.5 has been examined by an example.

It is a frequently encountered problem to calculate the area of target region in image processing. Based on an improved algorithm of contour extracting, a method for calculating the area of target region was advanced. First, the contour is extracted from the binary image, while note the location and type information of the contour points. Next, the area of target region is calculated by weighting summation of the contour points. Experimental results show this method is simple and easy to implement.

According to the deficiency of traditional soft-starter control accuracy caused by unsuitable initial value of PID or value shifting for disturbance of environment, a strategy of applying fuzzy PID instead of traditional PID into control process of the soft-starter is put forward in this paper. The fuzzy PID theory, soft-start theory are introduced. At last, electric motors’ soft-start, smooth running and soft-stop is realized by computer simulation, and the result shows the truth and validity of this strategy.

Aiming to reduce the occurrence of the surface and internal defects in the products, a dynamic secondary cooling control system was developed. The purpose of the system was to keep the surface temperature of the strand constant regardless of changes in casting speed. To accurately predict and control temperature in real time during the continuous casting process, A fast, accurate transient solidification and heat transfer model that serves as a “software sensor” was developed, which provide feedback to a control system. The control methodology and software suitable for online control of continuous casting cooling process were also designed. In order to maintain the target temperature profile throughout the steel, the new software system continuously read the operating conditions and adjusts the spray-water flow rates in the secondary cooling zone of the caster. The control system is demonstrated by simulation and the results show that the control system is capable of running in real time on billet caster.

The single-core cable is used in production logging to achieve data transmission between the surface and the underground. However, for the narrow band of the single-core cable, using the traditional base-band modulation, transfer rate is very difficult to rise. Lower transfer rate limits the development of underground equipments. This paper analyzes the characteristics of single-core cable, combined with the actual situation of production logging, based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing, we design high-speed logging data transmission system and improve the bandwidth efficiency, so it is a kind of ideal data transmission for production logging. The system can realize the transmission rate of 115kbps or more in the 7,000 meters Camesa anti-hydrogen sulfide single-core cable. In laboratory conditions, the system withstands the test of high temperature for two hours. The system is stable and lays a solid foundation to test in the well site.

BOC (Binary Offset Carrier) modulation technology has been applied to the new generation of satellite navigation systems, because of the unique split-up spectral characteristics and multiple peaks of autocorrelation. On the basis of analyzing the power spectrum and autocorrelation function of the BOC modulation signals, the synchronization acquisition algorithms have been studied for choosing the more efficient un-ambiguity method of the BOC signals. Traditional algorithm of image enhancement enhances the contrast grade and noise of image at the same time. So, noise reduction is needed. Wavelet enhancement considers the spatial domain and frequency domain of image signal, but not the nonlinearity of vision. Aim at the problem of enhanced noise in image enhancement, a new algorithm for image enhancement based on wavelet multiscale is proposed by analyzing the effects of wavelet on signal and noise regularity. Making use of the correlation of the wavelet coefficient from different scales and the frequency localization of wavelet, the noise and image information is divided effectively. It can alleviate the noise amplification while enhancing the image feature.

H.264/AVC is the newest video coding standard with high compression efficiency. Especially it adopts traveling algorithm to find the optimal mode for intra-frame prediction in spatial field, so it is quite complex and costs very long encoding-time. In this paper, the proposed fast mode decision scheme consists of two parts: early intra mode detection, which is to select intra 4×4 or intra 16×16 mode for each MB before encoding according to smoothness characteristic, and fast intra4×4 mode decision, which is to reduce choices of prediction directions from 9 to 3 by SAD of Mode 0 to Mode 2. Experimental results show that without the variety of PSNR basically, the compression time is 32.8% less than the original algorithm, and only increases 3.2% bits-rate on average. This algorithm improves the intra-frame coding efficiency, and is especially applicable for the high quality and complex sequence.
