Within metallic or insulated objects or vehicles, overhead power line electric field induces potential that could become dangerous when human beings are in contact with. Also, for human beings that are working within electric or magnetic concentrated fields, biological perturbations could occur. A power quality and environment impact remote-measuring system is presented within the paper. It provides several experimental results obtained once this system has been implemented in case of the Romanian power market.

At the University of Pardubice there is currently developed a modern positioning system for localization of fire brigade and members of rescue corps. The TDOA based system use an OFDM wideband signal to separate direct propagated signal from mixture of its replicas created in a multipath channel. In the paper, the model of a received signal is presented and this signal is processed by spectrum analysis methods to estimate the direct propagated signal delay. The accuracy of nonparametric, parametric and subspace methods is compared and new insights into application of spectral analysis methods are presented.

The implementation method of search motion of mobile robot or group of mobile robots with incomplete or inaccurate sensor data or with failure of one or several sensors in dynamic non-determined environment is described in this paper. Ander the search motion an algorithm for environment research and search of given objects, appearances, characterized areas is considered. The scheme of motion behavior with inertial switching between search tactics developed by V.A. Nepomnyashchikh and based on generator of chaotic sequences is used for this purpose. The generator is a system with non-linear element and has at least one regime, where chaotic signals are produced. The generator has program realization on the base of logistic map. Fixed-point arithmetic is used. To verify operability the method was implemented in two different systems: computer model and real mobile robot. Used prototype of the mobile robot is compact, autonomous, tracked and equipped with on-board radio modem XBee and front collision sensors.

Reliability of a multistate series system with degrading and dependent components is considered. Dependent failures of this system components are defined and the system reliability function and other reliability characteristics in case its components have exponential reliability functions are determined. The results are applied practically to reliability evaluation of a port conveyor belt in case its components have multi-state exponential reliability functions with interdependent departures rates from the subsets of their reliability states.

This paper is dedicated to a problem of the hidden faults associated with development of the computer systems in form of their transformation into safety-related instrumentation and control systems. The hidden faults do not allow ensuring functional safety by construction of fault tolerant digital component without consideration of their checkability. Increase of checkability by imitation of accident is exposed to an unacceptable risk of transition into an emergency mode. The approaches to solving the problem during operational time using the methods for improvement of checkability in a normal mode and with analysis of both normal and emergency modes are offered.

In the paper, we present principles of an object-oriented programming language for Physarum polycephalum computing. Physarum polycephalum is a one-cell organism that can be used for developing a biological architecture of different abstract devices. Both, theoretical foundations and assumptions for a language specification are considered. Especially, we focus on selected approaches (ladder diagrams, Petri nets, and transition systems) enabling us to model behaviour of Physarum polycephalum in the created programming language.

The methodology of infectology knowledge sharing at the Faculty of medicine in Kosice, Slovakia, is presented in this paper. The new distance education based approach was realized within the learning innovation activities and with the aim to offer the latest information about infectology topics and related research results to the undergraduate and postgraduate students. This approach includes streaming of live educational events, elaboration of education materials as well as on-line archive of individual audiovisual lectures. The final multimedia outputs are applied in both the face-to-face and the distance education forms respecting educational strategy at the faculty. Furthermore, these outputs can be accessed through our faculty's web portal by any interested person. The initial response of our students convinced us about the positive impact of this project as it combines both the theoretical and the practical know-how of professionals into the electronic outcomes that can be used anywhere and from almost any device connected to the Internet.

One of the main problems in reliability assessment of a complex dynamic system is to take into account dependencies of the system structure resulting from changes of its physical parameters. The aim of this paper is to provide the mathematical model of actual natural gas compression station which is situated in the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic represents one of the European transit countries for distribution of natural gas in east-west directions. The compression station and its surrounding gas pipeline network undergo performance changes in context with the amount of transported natural gas. The assumed performance changes that are provided and supervised by a human dispatcher, are based on consumer wishes which are changing during time. We describe the industrial multi-state system by the use of Markov process with continuous time. The model parameters are based on historical data, on the list of rules of possible human dispatcher performance changes behaviour and also on expert information from the gas network industry. An effect of change of the hardware configuration of the system by a human dispatcher and its corresponding change of the system availability is presented and discussed with conclusion that the pipeline network is a highly reliable system.

Described the parameters of similarity of these tasks, hypothesized the possibility of creating a unified methodology for cognitive systems. Shown the possible original architecture of the system, its description, command and data formats, the principles of operation. Describes the implementation of a system model for the GPU.

The methods, model, algorithm and special software for subpixel image processing from the frame infrared camera for remote sensing satellite system are considered. Subpixel processing of image sequence provides a significant improvement in spatial resolution and minimum resolvable temperature difference (MRTD) of the infrared camera. Described results were confirmed experimentally on a specially developed test workbed.
