& Mogashoa 2019; Rey-Moreno & Pather 2020). Developed markets, including Europe, the United States of America (USA) and Oceania, have internet penetration rates above 70 % , as most consumers can afford access to data. In South Africa, consumers live on or below the poverty line and have minimal income for their basic needs, such as food and transport (Statistics South Africa 2021). Therefore, for many South Africans, connecting to the internet is perceived as a luxury (Kemp 2022). In a post-pandemic digital economy where business and marketing strategies are geared towards a hybrid approach Background: Various data access types influence online purchasing in South Africa, contributing to a digital divide. Literature on consumers’ perceptions of data access and its influence on online consumer decision-making is scant. Objectives: This study explores South African consumers’ perceptions of data access and its influence on online consumer decision-making. Method: Plowright’s Framework for Integrated Methodology (FraIM) guided the study’s methodological choices. Through purposive sampling, 25 participants who purchased online 6 months before data collection participated in four virtual focus group discussions. Tesch’s eight steps guided the data analysis procedure. Results: Access to data lies on a continuum from limited to sufficient data access, impacted by location, infrastructure, affordability, time spent online, data usage and device, and supporting factors. Limited data access impedes online consumer decision-making, whereas sufficient data access supports online consumer decision-making. With better data access, consumers can spend more time online deliberating risks by searching for information, reading reviews, comparing alternatives, tracking purchases and influencing other consumers to purchase online. Conclusion: A lack of data access impedes, while sufficient data access supports online consumer decision-making. Contribution: This study adds to the limited knowledge of data access and its implications for decision-making in South Africa. Using the FraIM in a marketing-related study provides novel methodological insights for future research.
& Mogashoa 2019;Rey-Moreno & Pather 2020)。

Using enterprise resource planning systems to manage property processes
Pub Date : 2023-04-28 DOI: 10.4102/sajim.v25i1.1607
A. Amadi-Echendu
Background: The various organisations that are involved in property transfer transactions tend to work as autonomous units within the end-to-end property supply chain. This compartmentalisation of activities and tasks creates inefficiencies and a lack of transparency. Objectives: There is a need to review the current paper-based processes by evaluating the end-to-end processes in their entirety.Method: Semi-structured qualitative interviews were conducted with prominent role-players involved in the property transfer process in South Africa. The general systems view was used as the theoretical underpinning of the research, whereby property processes across the property supply chain should be viewed as a single system. Results: Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems may assist in integrating workflow processes to enhance productivity and collaboration, and improve overall property processes. The participants confirmed the need for a centralised platform with integrated workflows. Conclusion: Participants who were interviewed concurred that a centralised system would produce numerous benefits and enhanced efficiencies through a streamlined and more transparent process. Therefore, the researcher recommends that an ERP system be introduced across the property supply chain. A centralised ERP management system would enable all parties to a particular property transaction to have sight of the progress of the transaction and reduce capturing errors across various systems.Contribution: The article will be useful within the immovable property industry, as well as to the buyers, sellers, and academia. Future studies could focus on how an ERP system could be integrated into the property supply chain.

, this research in management research classifies queries, interprets, and contextualizes how information has evolved to help the indigenous farmers to improve their practice (Amadi, Ola & Ayoola 2020). To understand the new (contemporary) technique, small and medium-sized palm oil producers in the empirical context are questioned to help uncover how they have transformed their practices. Traditionally, farmers are regarded highly in the community because of the impact of their work in sustaining the livelihood of locals in the Ologbo community. Understanding indigenous knowledge management (KM) practices is essential for organisations today, especially for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), because employees in the empirical context may sometimes have a strong affinity towards their ethnicity. Applying indigenous practices in contemporary organisations may Background: Palm oil production in Nigeria has scope for massive improvements, regardless of Nigeria’s position as a dominant producer. Palm oil from Nigeria is banned in certain countries because of a lack of standards. The majority of palm oil producers are indigenous farmers who tend to use traditional practices to extract the product. While palm oil production conducted traditionally is cleaner, indigenous farmers need more workforce and mechanized machinery to extract their oil in bulk supply. Objectives: This research aims to highlight palm oil producers’ indigenous knowledge management practices and specifically explore how the information is created, stored and disseminated compared with contemporary producers. Method: A qualitative research approach involving 40 participants who were purposively drawn was used to investigate the indigenous knowledge management and contemporary knowledge management practices related to palm oil extraction in Ologbo in Ikpoba-Okha of Edo State, Nigeria, using Lee and Choi’s 2003 enabler framework. Results: The study identified areas of convergence and divergence in the knowledge management practices of indigenous and contemporary farmers using the enabler framework. Conclusion: Using the enabler framework to highlight knowledge management practices that need improvement is novel and provides a starting point for indigenous producers to improve their knowledge management practices. Contribution: The investigation of the enabler framework extends current theorization by providing contextual insights into how each framework component is collectively organized to support organizational outcomes.
