The use of dynamic, adaptive materials with feedback control is a tendency of the past decade. Life sciences and medicine require materials with the controlled and responsive assembly of various components on the scales from molecular to macroscopic and even robotics. The main idea of this review is the use of synthetic systems as regulatory networks that facilitate the integration of chemical and biological materials. The synthetic systems, which are inspired by biochemical regulatory networks, help synthetic material to adapt to environmentand to interact with living matter cooperatively. The first step in realizing this concept is designing simple model systems. The simplicity means that the system should contain a minimal number of components but should be robust and sustainable to perform the required functions through logic operations and feedback loops. Here we suggest specific examples of robust systems for the selected functionality: compartmentalized signaling cascades, computation with light-induced chemical gradients andadvanced biomimetic mixed organic-inorganic materials, and self-regulation in chemical-biological systems. The main challenges for the given examples are discussed, and future prospects of logic operation with chemical systems are provided.

This review is a second part of the work that presents a historical retrospective of the studies of photoluminescence in mercury cadmium telluride (HgCdTe), one of the most important materials of infrared photo-electronics. The second part of the review considers the results of the studies performed in 2004–2022. These studies were carried out mostly on films grown by molecular beam epitaxy and focused on the investigation of defects, especially those originating in p-type doping with mercury vacancies or arsenic atoms. Compositional uniformity and alloy fluctuations in HgCdTe were also the subjects of the studies.

This review is devoted to the analysis of three components of magneto-mechanical damping (MMD), namely, macroeddy, microeddy, and hysteresis components, in ferromagnetic alloys. Theoretical models and equations for all three components of the MMD are discussed. The application of the classical theory of micro- and macroeddy MMD to determine the influence of the frequency of cyclic external mechanical load on the damping ability of the material is shown. A discussion on the role of various factors, such as temperature, strain amplitude, vibration frequency, and external magnetic field, on the magnitude of the MMD is provided.

Competition Between Generation of Nanovoids and Nanocracksin Bimodal Metal-Graphene Composites 双峰金属-石墨烯复合材料中纳米孔洞与纳米裂纹的竞争

A theoretical model which describes micromechanisms of the deformation-induced formation of nanovoids and the competition between the nanovoid formation and the deformation-induced formation of nanocracks in bimodal metal-graphene composites is presented. In the framework of the model, the formation of nanovoids and nanocracks occurs at the grain boundary (GB) disclination dipoles near the graphene inclusions. It is demonstrated that the formation of nanovoids at the GB disclination dipoles is energetically favorable process in deformed bimodal Ni-graphene composite.

Graphene Intercalation with Iron and Cobalt: a Brief Review 石墨烯与铁和钴的嵌入:简要综述

The attractiveness of graphene, a two-dimensional crystal consisting of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice, for various technological applications stems from its outstanding physical, mechanical and optical properties. The intercalation of magnetic metal atoms under graphene is a flexible tool for creating new functional materials for electronics and spintronics. In this review, we consider the works devoted to the intercalation of graphene by iron and cobalt atoms, where graphene on a metal (graphene sythesized by chemical vapor deposition method) and dielectric (graphene grown on silicon carbide) substrate is used as the initial structure.

In this paper, we report on the successful fabrication of β-Ga2O3 thin films by spray-pyrolysis technique. We provide the data on the dependence of the quality of the β-Ga2O3 films on the regimes and parameters of fabrication. Scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and optical spectroscopy are used to analyze film properties. X-ray diffraction phase analysis of the films after heat treatment at 900°C confirms the formation of β-Ga2O3 crystallites.
