. Covid-19 has a massive impact on all aspects. The most widely felt impact is a decrease in economic activity that impacts declining incomes. One of the contributing impacts is the reduced access to food (food insecurity) of some students and staff of UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi to good food due to low income. UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi tried to overcome this problem by registering students and staff who experienced food insecurity using survey123. Then conducting a Charity Program by providing free food every Friday by Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) and Center for Demographic, Ethnography, and Social Transformation Studies named Friday Charity Program . This study aims to understand how Friday Charity Program can overcome food insecurity for students and staff at university. The result was that Friday Charity Program could help the people that need food. This activity is also one of the university’s concerns in achieving the 2nd Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely No Hungry.

In the national education system, the ability to read and write the Qur'an has become a competency that students in Islamic universities must be fulfilled. Based on the results of LPMQ research conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia's Research and Development Agency and Training in 2019 on the Al-Qur'an Reading and Writing (BTQ) Ability Index at 11 State Islamic Universities (PTIN) in Indonesia, UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh came in the last second from the bottom. This paper seeks to explain why UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh students have low ability in reading and writing the Qur'an. This article uses case study method. Questionnaires, interviews, Quranic reading and writing tests, and documentation were used to collect data. The findings of the data analysis reveal that both internal and external variables contributed to the poor BTQ ability of UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh students. Internal factors focus on students' poor motivation to learn the Qur'an, which is exacerbated by external factors, such as a familial setting that discourages the development of habits to engage with the Qur'an in everyday life.

. Research on the use and management of dyes in the dyeing process of Jambi batik has been carried out with a qualitative approach. This research aims to determine the types of dyes used in the batik dyeing process and determine waste management. Researchers follow the phenomenology approach, with an in-depth analysis of synthetic dyes used by batik craftsmen and the methods used by batik craftsmen in processing these dyes before being dumped into the river. Batik craftsmen use synthetic direct dyes because they are considered more practical and durable than natural dyes. Craftsmen have not fully processed the dye waste before being discharged into the environment. Therefore, the government, ulama, and universities are very much needed in advocacy and training on wastewater treatment. This study provides an exciting opportunity to advance the knowledge of researchers and the public about synthetic dyes in the batik process and increase the awareness of batik craftsmen to the environment.

. The Indonesian government, during the New Order era, provided a book of commentaries as a practical tool for interpreting the Qur'an to help Indonesian Muslims understand the holy book. To that end, in 1965 the Qur'an and its translation were published , the process of which was facilitated by the government through the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. Then a body was appointed that produced two works. Al- Quran and its translation. Second , al- Quran and its interpretation. However, there is another assumption that behind the "goodness" of the New Order which seemed to understand the will of Muslims in Indonesia, it turned out that there were political fears that haunted him. Writing the Qur'an and its Tafsir is a government program of the Republic of Indonesia which is a continuation of the Al-Qur'an translation project. The social nuance is seen in this interpretation. From the other side, theological nuances also color the work of this interpretation. This interpretation of the Qur'an and its interpretation can be said to be a Sunni interpretation, namely an interpretation that uses the principles of the teachings of Ahlu Sunnah wal Jama'ah This interpretation tends not to display differences of opinion.

. This study aims to analyze the critical method of sanad hadith used by several contemporary hadith scholars in the Middle East. The results of it are focused on the tendencies and characteristics of the methods used by them. This study used library research and qualitative methods which are arranged descriptively, comparatively, and analytically. This research departs from the statement put forward by Daniel Djuned and Ahmad Amin (d. 1373 H) they said the study of sanad hadith criticism is no longer relevant in the contemporary era. According to researchers, studies on sanad hadith are no less important to study, especially in the current era, there have been many circulating hoaxes or ḍa'īf claims or ṣaḥīḥ claims against unfounded hadiths to support the ideology of a group.

. The imbalance in the quantity and composition of the two armies is not the cause of the defeat of the Muslim troops in Uḥud war. As evidence, the battle of Badr was won by a landslide by the Islamic forces even though their numbers were far less than the enemy. This paper aims to reveal the cause of the defeat of the Islamic troops in the Uḥud war. This research is qualitative using a historical approach, and the existing data is presented in a descriptive analytical manner. The results of this study reveal that the cause of the defeat of the Muslims in the battle of Uḥud was caused by at least two factors, firstly the ignorance of the archers at the command of the Prophet not to descend the hill, secondly the effectiveness of the Quraysh's ruse by maneuvering the screams of the killing of the Prophet.
