Literature Review: Mathematical Creative Thinking Ability, and Students’ Self Regulated Learning to Use an Open Ended Approach 文献综述:数学创造性思维能力与学生自主学习的开放性

The ability to think creatively and self regulated learning is very important in learning mathematics, in order to train students to develop their creativity. But in reality, mathematics learning that is currently happening has not been able to develop mathematical creative thinking skills and increase students’ self-regulated learning. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the open-ended approach and the ability to think creative mathematically and self-regulated learning and how to implement it in school in the perspective of literature review. The type of research used is literature review, where articles are collected using search engines such as EBSCO, Science direct, and Scopus. Based on the articles collected, the results show that: 1. Mathematics learning to use an open-ended approach has an effect on increasing students ‘creative thinking skills and self-regulated learning, 2. The open-ended approach is higher in increasing students’ creative thinking abilities compared to using a conventional approach, 3. The open-ended approach to learning has the following steps: a) the teacher organizes students in learning activities; b) the teacher exposes students to open problems; c) the teacher guides and directs students in solving problems with various solutions and various answers; d) students present their work and compare with the work of other students in front of the class; and e) students conclude the subject matter, which is guided by the teacher. 4. To apply open-ended learning, it is necessary to prepare learning that requires high creativity for a teacher.

Correlation between Students' Mathematical and Logical Spatial Intelligence in Terms of Understanding Concepts 从概念理解看学生数学与逻辑空间智能的相关性

This study aims to determine the relationship of junior high school students’ spatial and mathematical logical intelligence based on understanding the concepts. Spatial intelligence indicators in this study are reviewed from students’ abilities in using images as a tool for solving problems, connecting data with concepts that have been held, and finding patterns in solving problems. On the other hand, the indicators of students’ mathematical logical intelligence is observed by looking at students' abilities to mention and understand information that is known in a problem, to draw up a plan of completion and to do mathematical calculations correctly. The indicators of understanding concepts are restating a concept, providing examples and non-examples of concepts, and applying concepts or algorithms in problem solving. The research method in this research is the Ex Post Facto correlational type, with using a purposive sampling as the sampling technique. The results of the data analysis obtained a correlation coefficient is around 0.93 with 86% R square. The relationship between the spatial intelligence variables is shown by the understanding of concepts by 86%, the level of the relationship, with the correlation coefficient is 0.93, where mathematical logical intelligence with an understanding of 80%, with the level of the relationship of 0.89, and the relationship of spatial intelligence with a mathematical logical is described by a 77% level of the relationship, with 0.88, as the correlation coefficient. The results showed that there was a very strong relationship between spatial intelligence and logical mathematics in terms of understanding students' concepts.

Impact of Instructional Scaffolding Approach on Secondary School Students Achievement in Mathematics 教学脚手架法对中学生数学成绩的影响

The study investigated the impact of instructional scaffolding approach on secondary school students’ achievement in Mathematics. The study was carried out in Owerri Municipal Council of Imo State. The study was a quasi-experimental research type adopting the pre-test post test non equivalent control design in carrying out the study. A sample of 237 senior secondary school II (SS II) students consisting of 81 males and 156 females was used for the study. The instrument for data collection was a researcher made 30 items objective test questions titled “Mathematics Achievement Test (MAT)”. The instrument had reliability coefficient of 0.85 determined using Kuder Richardson 20 formula  (KR20). The experiment group was taught mathematics using instructional scaffolding approach while the control group was taught using traditional approach. The data generated was analyzed using mean and standard deviation to answer research questions while Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the study revealed that instructional scaffolding is effective in enhancing secondary school students’ achievement in mathematics and minimized gender bias. Based on the result it was recommended that mathematics teachers at secondary school level should apply instructional scaffolding approach in teaching to enhance students’ achievement.

Comparative Study of Levels of Academic Self Esteem and Academic Achievement in Mathematics among Pupils of Two and Single Parent Families 双亲家庭与单亲家庭小学生数学学业自尊水平与学业成绩的比较研究

The study aimed at comparing levels of academic self-esteem and academic achievement in mathematics among students of two and single parent families. Based on the purposes of the study two research questions and two null hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The design of the study was comparative survey research design. The population of the study comprised all 1,267 SS2 students in Owerri Municipal Council Area of Imo State. The instruments used for data collection were Academic Self Esteem Questionnaire (ASEQ) and Mathematics Achievement Test (MAT) to obtain relevant data. The validity of the instruments was done by experts in Measurement and Evaluation and one expert each from Educational psychology and Mathematics Education. The reliability of the instruments was 0.72 and 0.85, determined using Pearson Product Moment Correlational (PPMC) statistics were used. Data collected were analyzed using t-test at 0.05 level of significance. There is a statistically significant difference in levels of academic self-esteem and academic achievement in mathematics among students from single parent families and those from two parent families.

House of Using Banyuwangi is one of the cultural components of the Using tribe in Banyuwangi-Indonesia which contains a lot of mathematical concepts. The existence of mathematical concepts in culture, commonly known as ethnomathematics, can be the basis for the development of mathematics teaching materials for elementary school. In addition to the application of cultural components in the form of Using traditional houses, the use of Using language as a language of learning can also be a bridge for students to be able to more easily understand mathematical concepts that are still abstract.

The purpose of this study was to describe the standard process of mathematical reasoning in learning on pyramid volume concepts. The study was a study with descriptive qualitative approach, carried out by peer teaching in the classroom. The subjects of this research were Class B Postgraduate 2018 (S2) students, State University of Malang. The standard process of this activity was to recognize reasoning and verification as a basic aspect in mathematics, to make and investigate mathematical conjecture, to find out how to develop and evaluate mathematical arguments and verification, to find out how to choose and use various types of reasoning and proof methods.

The Effectiveness of Problem Based Learning Model With The Assistance of Animation Media on Tetragon Material To The Students Mathematic Learning Achievement of Grade Vii Smp Negeri 5 Mandai 四边形素材动画媒体辅助下的问题学习模式对小学七年级学生数学学习成绩的影响

This research was an experimental research that aimmed to know and measure the effectiveness of the application of Problem Based Learning model (PBL) with the assistance of animation media on tetragon material. This research type was quantitative research with one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was the students of class VII SMP Negeri 5 Mandai with a random sample of 28 students in an experimental class. Data collection using a test of learning achievement that has been validated by the expert. The data of this research were analyzed descriptively and inferential with normality test as prerequisite analysis test. The results of the data analysis showed that the average pre-test was 45,57 while the average post-test was 84,32. Average gain scores normalized 0,72 in the high category and normally distributed for learning achievement data. Based on the t-test obtained 0,000 < α = 0,025 we could conclud that there was a significant increase. The post-test also showed that 26 out of 28 students (92,86%) have reached KKM score in mathematics in SMP Negeri 5 Mandai. The results of this study indicate that there was a significant improvement on the mathematics learning achievement of students after being taught with PBL model with the assistance of animation media on tetragon material.

The results of the data analysis showed that the average pre-test was 45,57 while the average post-test was 84,32. Average gain scores normalized 0,72 in the high category and normally distributed for learning achievement data. Based on the t-test obtained 0,000 < α = 0,025 we could conclud that there was a significant increase. The post-test also showed that 26 out of 28 students (92,86%) have reached KKM score in mathematics in SMP Negeri 5 Mandai. Students Self Regulated Learning in Numerical Methods Course using Computational Mathematics Teaching Materials 利用计算数学教材进行数值方法课程的学生自主学习

Self regulated learning is a learning system applied in universities. Therefore, self regulated learning is needed by students in taking courses in college. Based on the results of previous studies found that students self regulated learning is still low. This study aims to improve students self regulated learning by using computational mathematics teaching materials in numerical method courses. The method used in this study is quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control group design. Result of this study shows that increasing students self regulated learning that using computational mathematics teaching materials is not better than students that not using the teaching materials.
自主学习是一种应用于高校的学习制度。因此,自主学习是学生在大学课程学习中所需要的。根据以往的研究结果发现,学生自我调节学习的水平仍然较低。本研究旨在利用计算数学教材,提高学生在数值方法课程中的自主学习能力。本研究采用非等效对照组设计的准实验方法。本研究结果表明,提高使用计算数学教材的学生的自主学习效果并不比不使用教材的学生更好。

Hybrid Learning in Mathematics Learning (Experimental Study in SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru) 数学学习中的混合学习(SMA Negeri 1北坎巴鲁的实验研究)

The Indonesian government is trying to implement a learning process based on information and communication technology. However, there are still weaknesses in the use of the internet in the learning process among students. Therefore, this article aims to describe the activities of students during the implementation of hybrid learning in mathematics learning and find out the results of student learning in mathematics through the application of Hybrid Learning. The research method used in this article is a true experimental design with a research sample of SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru students, whose schools have easy internet access. To obtain primary data from the field, tests are used to measure student mathematics learning outcomes. After each data is collected and tabulated, the data will be analyzed using statistical parametric analysis with the t test using the help of SPSS Version 18.00. The results showed that there were differences in student learning outcomes between those studying with the Hybrid Cooperative Learning method and students learning with conventional methods in SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. The difference is confirmed again by the mean value of the experimental class 34.55 while the mean control class is 31.35. The results of this calculation indicate that the ability of the experimental class students is better than the control class students. This means that the value of the experimental class is better.
