Design and Performance Analysis of Improved FIR Filter using UltraScale FPGA 基于UltraScale FPGA的改进FIR滤波器设计与性能分析

It is discussed in many studies and demonstrated in the many researches that based on certain applications, analog design of filter has several issues including complex design, re-use Limitations, and accuracy of generating the output at various frequencies. Therefore, instead of analog filter design the digital design of the filter is preferred for both Finite and Infinite Impulse Response Filter. This paper demonstrates the design of the digital FIR filter designed is demonstrated using ultrascale Field Programming Gate Array. The filter is designed using Coefficient multiplier via Canonic Signed Digit – CSD Technique. The optimized design of digital filter is carried out via real-time implementation is performed using Ultra Scale FPGA. The filter is designed and tested with ordinary filter at 10 MHz and 10 GHz frequencies. The performance analysis of the system is illustrated using the response rate at the bit stream of 16 bit. In the results, it is demonstrated that for 10 MHz frequency design FIR filter in FPGA the 30% faster response filter is achieved at for 10 GHz, the 15% faster response is achieved at the IO Standard of LVCOMS. The proposed Improved Finite Impulse Response Filter Design using Ultra Scale FPGA helps in increasing design performance to increase the speed of overall response of FIR filter that is lacking in ordinary Filters.

Low-Cost Portable ECG Monitoring Device for Inaccessible Areas in Pakistan 巴基斯坦交通不便地区的低成本便携式心电监护设备

A need for constant health monitoring system is essential especially for heart diseases which may cause sudden stroke and death. We present in this paper the design and development of a low cost, efficient and user-friendly ECG monitoring device. Most of the heart rate measurement devices and tools available are quite expensive and may not be easily available in some areas. Presented device monitors the patient’s body information using three lead silver chloride ECG disposable electrodes and detects the pulse signal. The detected heart pulse signal is first filtered and then amplified. The device displays the heart signal on a MATLAB graphical user interface while simultaneously showing the digitized pulse rate on a digital LCD. The device was tested on female patients aged 20-24. The results obtained were reliable compared with electrocardiogram reports and similar available devices of much higher development cost.

Effective & Efficient Implementation of OBE Framework within Constrained Pakistani Environment to Attain Desired Learning Outcomes 在受限的巴基斯坦环境中有效和高效地实施OBE框架,以获得期望的学习成果

Outcome-based-education (OBE) is an educational theory that bases each part of an educational system around goals (outcomes). Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) introduced the OBE in Pakistani engineering higher-education-institutions (HEIs),from 2018, in the replacement of previously followed Syllabus& Curriculum based education system. Key to success of OBE System is its continuous-quality-improvement (CQI) mechanism. The CQI mechanism design should be based on accurate assessment process and flawless evaluation of OBE System parameters; otherwise the OBE System’s benefits cannot be achieved. However, some HEIs have not devised an effective CQI mechanism and they still using classical procedures and academic tools in implementation of the OBE Framework, which cannot give desired results from the new System. This paper presents that; instead of presently employed loose-control, a modified stringent control strategy for academic activity and employment of latest technology, can make the CQI mechanism, more effective and efficient. This paper therefore presents a two-fold contribution. At first, the implementation problems of the OBE System are critically analyzed. Secondly, few modifications in the existing approaches have been introduced to achieve the desired results from the recently adopted OBE system.

Internet-of-Things based Home Automation System using Smart Phone 基于物联网的智能手机家庭自动化系统

Smart homes can be of great benefit for both, energy and water management which not only helps to save money but can be highly beneficial for the environment. Such smart automation not only offers optimum consumption of these resources but also leads to higher comfort and conveniences for the users and residents. Recent developments in sensing, networking and communication technologies offering new and advanced forms to link a variety of things around us even with the people. Further, integration of internet of things (IoTs) services by embedding intelligence into these sensors and actuators and connecting them smartly are gaining great popularity to enhance the comfort and quality of life. This paper presents a flexible and low-cost home automation system using various sensors to control the commonly used home appliances and devices where IP connectivity is provided to access and manage them remotely. For this purpose, an Android-based app is developed which can be installed on any smartphone in order to monitor and control the devices from any location. The evaluation of the integrated sensors with the devices and switches shows that the system can offer great automation to achieve the idea of smart homes.

Waste recycling is an option to mitigate the environmental impact resulting from the significant amount of debris generated by the productive activities of the construction. Thus, the aim of the research work to evaluate the use of Recycled Coarse aggregates (RCA) instead of natural coarse aggregate (NCA) in concrete ingredients with 30 MPa compressive strength. The experimental program began with the physical and particle size characterization of the Recycled Coarse aggregates (RCA), and subsequent comparison with the properties of the natural coarse aggregate (NCA). Based on the knowledge of these properties, the production stage began of concretes. Different procedures and literature have been studied in order to achieve the strength of concrete up to 30Mpa by incorporated glass fiber (2 % by addition of cement). It was also the influence of the use of different contents (0, 10%, 20%, 50%, and 100%) of Substitution of natural coarse aggregate by the recycled coarse concrete aggregate in the properties of the fresh and hardened state of concrete. Regarding the strength, parameters increased gradually proportional to the amount of RCA in the concrete from 10 to 20% and decrease strength to the amount of RCA in the concrete from 50 to 100% Substitution of natural coarse aggregate (NCA) in concrete

POST STROKE REHABILITATION DEVICE 中风后康复装置

Stroke is a medical condition that is the fifth cause of death and a leading cause of disability. The different reasons for stroke are high B.P, obesity, smoking, etc. recovery can only be sped up by regular physiotherapy and willpower of the patient. Regular physiotherapy can be interrupted by other commitments of the patient or by the doctor's unavailability. This may lead to a delay in the recovery process. Therefore, the efforts are needed to tackle the problem. The proposed device can be used to monitor and carry out selected exercises advised by the doctor. Here the upper right limb is our focus because it is the most common area to be affected. Furthermore, android application is also designed which have different consoles for doctor and patient. The patient’s app shows the history and progress of the patient while the doctor sets the time and can also see the progress. Firstly, the unit tracks finger and wrist movements and the signal strength of the muscles being exercised, and then performs assisted flexion / extension manipulation of the limb. The results are shown in the app using the graphs so that the patient and the doctor can both monitor the progress. Thus, this design gives ease to the patient as well as the doctor. With the world shifting towards smart devices and remote monitoring and control, there is a need to apply modern technology in the health dept. using the platform of IOT, certain medical treatments can be made easier for the doctors and effective for the patients. By using different sensors, a microcontroller, Arduino software, mobile application, the patient’s physiotherapy exercises can be monitored, recorded and assisted.

Design, Model & Planning of Prosumer Microgrid for MNS UET Multan Campus MNS UET木尔坦校区产消微电网的设计、模型与规划

The goal of this study is to provide a model and conceptual design for a prosumer campus microgrid that will help the university campus economically. The proposed model is based on solar PV installation at department rooftop for the campus of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology's in Multan, Pakistan. This study indicates that a 3,196-kW grid-connected solar photovoltaic system may generate enough electrical power to meet consumption, reducing grid reliance and minimizing energy from grid supply. This study also includes an economical and financial analysis of the proposed system based on various assumptions. PVSol Software was used to conduct a solar potential study and design of the site. Our study and analysis revealed that our suggested PV model can create 3,196.53 kWh of PV energy (DC), which is about 81.6 percent of the yearly consumption of our chosen site of 3,784.56 kWh.

Educating Adolescents about Social Behavior using Information and Communications Technology 运用资讯及通讯科技教育青少年社会行为

The media has a wide range of applications. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) plays a vital role to educate the young generation. For over three decades, we have observed a very good involvement of media in spreading awareness on various issues pertaining to the society. The aim of this research study to seek the relationship between teaching multimedia (animation) at school level to educate adolescents about the social behavior. A survey has been carried out in five different levels of educational institution in Sultanate of Oman. 873 samples were collected, correlation analysis was performed on hypotheses to test the linear association. Linear regression has been performed to test hypothesis for comparing regression constants. The analysis discovered that there is adequate evidence to support the claim at the alpha level of significance that social behavior learning at school level on adolescents, multimedia effect on educating social behavior and technology aided support on learning of social behavior have a positive and significant effect having α=0.85, significance F = 0.0 and p value less than 0.05 proving to be significant.

EFFECT OF WASTE GLASS POWDER ON THE SWELLING AND STRENGTH CHARACTERISTIC OF DISTRICT KARAK EXPANSIVE CLAY 废玻璃粉对地区卡拉克膨胀粘土溶胀及强度特性的影响

Expansive soils are generally considered problematic due to undesirable geotechnical characteristics like expansion, shrinking, settlement, and heaving. Such soils have low shear strength which decreases after wetting or other physical aggravations. Subsequently, such soils need proper improvement before constructing a structure on them. Different industrial wastes have been used for the stabilization of weak soil in the past. In the current investigation, the impact of waste glass powder (WGP) on the strength and swelling characteristic of swelling soils have been assessed. The primary target of this examination was to research the utilization of waste glass powder in geotechnical applications for controlling the settlement and expanding qualities. For this reason, the local expansive soil of district Karak, Pakistan was selected and their engineering properties were assessed. The experimental work consists of conducting the consistency limits, California bearing ratio (CBR), specific gravity standard Procter tests.  The mentioned tests were carried out on both natural as well as modified specimens. For modification purposes, waste glass powder (WGP) was added in different proportions with the incremental rate of 4%,  for instant  0%,  4%, 8%, 12%, 16%, and 20%. The addition of waste glass powder greatly reduced the swelling properties of the tested soil and also improved the engineering characteristics. A maximum reduction in swelling was observed at 20% addition of waste glass powder. Similarly, the liquid limid also reduced, and the specific gravity and maximum dry density increased at optimum glass powder content.

Educational Benefits of Study Tours for the Students of Architecture 建筑专业学生游学的教育效益

Among educational elements, the main element is study tours that are considered as a crucial instrument for learning. These tours are not only a source of providing valuable educational opportunities to the students but also give them pleasure. They benefit the entire life of students in different ways. The main focus of this research is to know how study tours are beneficial for students of architecture. This study explores the need and importance of study tours that add the learning experience throughout the life of students at the university level and in practical life. For collecting data, a qualitative research method is used. The study carried out by taking the architectural students of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology Karachi on study tours, because of being a part of the faculty of the Architecture department of this university. The research tool was a questionnaire that was filled online by the students who joined the tours, collected data was analyzed by a simple percentage method. The findings indicated that the majority of respondents get pleasure and knowledge from study tours. The tours provide education to students to explore things personally in an eloquent way. They not only boost collaboration among teachers and students but also support to cope with teaching problems that occurred in the classrooms. The study has demonstrated that study tours are essential in order to give practical tactics for the curriculum and are helpful in enhancing the learning experience and understanding of the students. Tours bring enjoyment and escapade to learning and trained students for getting success in the hardships of life.
