An improved method for nonstationary signals components extraction based on the ICI rule 基于ICI规则的非平稳信号分量提取方法的改进

This paper proposes an improved adaptive algorithm for components localization and extraction from a noisy multicompo-nent signal time-frequency distribution (TFD). The algorithm, based on the intersection of confidence intervals (ICI) rule, does not require any a priori knowledge of signal components and their mixture. Its efficiency is significantly enhanced by using high resolution and reduced cross-terms TFDs. The obtained results are compared for different signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) and various time and lag window types used in the modified B-distribution (MBD) calculation, proving the method to be a valuable tool in noisy multicomponent signals components extraction in the time-frequency (TF) domain.

Data coding methods for low-power aided design of submicron interconnects 亚微米互连低功耗辅助设计的数据编码方法

We present in this paper a CAD tool that aims at designing low-energy buses. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) we developed manages many techniques dealing with the addressed problem: simple coding, coding subject to fixed / dynamic probabilities and an enhanced dynamic probabilities-based technique. Moreover, this environment allows tuning the parameters of data encoding / decoding and is able to generate different gains by varying the size of the bus transferring the encoded data. Thus, this tool is suitable for efficiently designing telecommunication and multimedia systems that are strong data consumers and can be easily configured to integrate new coding techniques, then using one of them when favorably compared against the other techniques.

Fast principal component analysis and data whitening algorithms 快速主成分分析和数据白化算法

In this paper, we propose an adaptive implementation of a fast-convergent algorithm for principal component extraction. Our approach consists of first estimating a basis of the principal subspace through the use of OPAST algorithm. The obtained basis is then fed to a second process where at each iteration one or several Givens transformations are applied to estimate the principal components. Later on, the proposed PCA algorithm is used to derive a fast data whitening solution that overcomes the existing ones of similar complexity order. Simulation results support the high performance of our algorithms in terms of accuracy and speed of convergence.

Modulation classification of linearly modulated signals in a cognitive radio network using constellation shape 基于星座形状的认知无线电网络中线性调制信号的调制分类

In this paper we intend to classify linear digital modulations in a cognitive radio network using constellation shape of the received signal as a feature. In our method, we perform the clustering of the base-band symbols to recognize the constellation and evaluate the result by some validation method. For clustering, K-Means, one of the simplest and fastest clustering methods, and the Fuzzy Hyper Volume (FHV), a well-known, simple and fast index for validating fuzzy C-Means clustering method, are employed. The presented approach is fully unsuper-vised and performs its task despite the slowly-varying flat Rayleigh fading channel and without the knowledge of the parameters such as SNR, carrier phase and timing offset. Using this fast and accurate pair of method-index and introducing a novel idea for refining K-Means initial values that considerably increases accuracy and decreases the number of iterations required for K-Means clustering, guarantees high performance and low computational complexity of the aforementioned algorithm. It is shown via simulations that the algorithm performs correct classification when the SNR is over 10dB for most practical linear modulation schemes under the presence of AWGN.

Fuzzy prediction of complications in craniopathy 颅病并发症的模糊预测

Decompressive craniectomy is a neurosurgical procedure in which part of the skull is removed to allow a swelling brain room to expand. It is a life-saving procedure used in the treatment of medically refractory intracranial hypertension, most commonly in the setting of trauma or cerebral infarction. Essentially, any increase in the volume of the contents of the skull is first treated to be contained. If such treatments fail, then the related part of the skull is removed through surgery and the increase of volume is allowed to happen until the pathology subsides and the brain returns to its normal relaxed state. After which the defect is repaired by a procedure called Cranioplasty in which case the left-out bone is placed back and joined onto the skull. This procedure is extremely risky but is becoming very popular due to clinical successes. The determination of risk of complications at the stage of bone-replacement can be a very useful information for the doctor as well as the patient since it can determine the post-surgical treatment, care, and patient-management procedures. In this paper, we have proposed a very systematic algorithmic approach to determine this using Fuzzy Inference System. The system inputs many qualitative as well as numerical inputs and determines the risk as one of the clsses of complications; Severe, Minor, Least/None.

Development of an algorithm of maximum power point tracking for photovoltaic systems using genetic algorithms 基于遗传算法的光伏系统最大功率点跟踪算法研究

This paper presents a novel GA (genetic algorithms) based method to carry out the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) based on the cell model. For that it is necessary to measure the open circuit voltage (Voc) and short circuit current (Isc), then the proposed algorithm gives directly and rapidly the optimal voltage (Vop) so the duty cycle is adjusted. The simulation results are obtained by changing Isc and Voc values. The proposed technique permits to verify the linearity between Vop and Voc and between optimal current (Iop) and Isc. The results are compared with the conventional Perturb and Observe (P&O) and Incremental Conductance (IncCond) algorithms.

Detection of QRS complex in electrocardiogram signal by the empirical mode decomposition 基于经验模态分解的心电图信号QRS复合体检测

The acquisition and the pretreatment of the signals (physiological signals) are often followed by the extraction of the parameters of clinical importance. In the case of the electrocardiogram signal (ECG), the QRS complex is one of the most significant parameters for the diagnosis of the cardiac arrhythmias. In this paper the method known as the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is used for detection of QRS complex. This method aims to decompose nonlinear and non stationary signals adaptively in a series of signals modulated in amplitude and frequency called intrinsic mode function (IMF). We tested our algorithm on several signals of the MIT/BIH database comprising different pathologies, we obtained a sensitivity of 78% to 99%.

The deployment of 3D techniques is one of the most promising fields regarding the development of new applications for natural video scenes, as they provide users greatly enhanced viewing experience. For such applications, multi-view video coding is crucial to handle the enormous amount of data. This paper provides an experimental analysis of multi-view video coding for various temporal and interview prediction structures. We present the advantage of several multi-view video coding prediction schemes. This demonstration will show the benefits of using hierarchical B pictures based on H.264/AVC.

This paper provides an experimental analysis of multi-view video coding for various temporal and interview prediction structures. We present the advantage of several multi-view video coding prediction schemes. Phase difference statistical behavior of interferometric SAR systems 干涉SAR系统的相位差统计特性

The knowledge of the detailed structure of the scatterer using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) can only be possible if a complete description of the scene was available, which is impossible in practice. Therefore, it is necessary to average data to obtain estimates of useful precision. The statistical description presents a great interest since it allows predicting signal behavior. This paper deals with the statistical behavior of the phase difference between two interferometric signals. The probability density function is examined stating its dependence on the coherence and the mean of the phase difference.

Low complexity linear MMSE equalization, channel decoding and estimation for frequency selective fast fading channels 频率选择性快衰落信道的低复杂度线性MMSE均衡、信道解码与估计

The present work focuses on low complexity (LC) Linear Minimum Mean Square Error (LMMSE) schemes in conjunction with the existing paradigm of turbo equalization (TE). As a consequence, the LC LMMSE equalizer was extended to new scenarios with unknown frequency selective fast fading Rayleigh channels. In this paper, the generalized Valenti and Woerner estimator is coupled with a LMMSE and LC LMMSE equalizer and used to accurately estimate the channel. Extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) charts are computed for the resulting TE to predict the decoding and equalization convergence behaviour. In addition, a comparison between TE using LC LMMSE and LMMSE equalizer is performed using bit error rate (BER) performance simulations.
