Impactor calibration: Comparison between accelerometric measurements and extensometric processed data 冲击器校准:加速度测量和拉伸测量处理数据之间的比较

We have developed a new prototype of impactor based on an energy restitution of a torsion bar. This device provides controlled impact velocities and energies of a fist comparable to those of met in boxing sport and martial arts. The analysis of the fist acceleration during the interaction with a target allows one to characterize the punch as well as dampening efficiency for protective sport equipments. The impactor was endowed with an accelerometer directly to acquire acceleration data values during the punch. On the other hand, an extensometric sensor has been used to follow the instantaneous angular position of the fist. The second-derivative of the angular position has been calculated in order to assess the impactor acceleration. Accelerometric and extensometric processed data are compared and discussed.

An automatic time-frequency procedure for interference suppression by exploiting their geometrical features 利用它们的几何特征进行干涉抑制的自动时频程序

This paper presents an adaptive method for interference suppression in the Wigner-Ville distribution. The structure of the artifacts in the Wigner-Ville distribution has been analyzed to optimally mask the signal Wigner-Ville distribution by the Pseudo Wigner-Ville distribution. The resulting time-frequency distribution outperforms in terms of representation quality the Wigner-Ville distribution, the Pseudo Wigner-Ville distribution with fixed smoothing windows, as well as the Modified B distribution.

Adaptive blind equalization for QAM modulated signals in the presence of frequency offset 存在频偏的QAM调制信号的自适应盲均衡

In this paper, we present an adaptive blind equalization for the frequency selective channel in the presence of the frequency offset. The adaptive recursions is based on the pseudo Newton method with stochastic gradient algorithm initialization (PNSI). We employ a the second order phase lock loop (PLL) to recover the frequency offset. We introduce a pseudo maximum likelihood (ML) method to estimate the frequency offset. The recovered symbols from these methods are compared by simulations which reveal the superiority of the proposed pseudo ML algorithm.

A complete statistical evaluation of state-of-the-art image quality measures 最先进的图像质量措施的完整统计评估

A quantitative predictive performance evaluation of seventeen full-reference image quality assessment metrics has been conducted in the present work. The process has been made over six publicly available subjectively rated image quality databases for four degradation types namely JPEG and JPEG2000 compression, Gaussian blur and Gaussian noise. Results show that there is no significant impact of the choice of image quality databases on the evaluation of the different full reference image quality metrics. These latter are found to fall into the same range of performance in terms of their correlation to the subjective human ratings, accuracy and monotonicity.

Vehicle detection algorithm based on horizontal/vertical edges 基于水平/垂直边缘的车辆检测算法

This paper presents a vehicle detection algorithm for driver assistance system based on embedded vision architecture. Before generating the hypothesis, we propose to delimiter the search area. The Hough transform is used to detect the lines that delimit the search area. By doing so we can reduce the computation time and the false detection rate during the hypothesis generation phase. The search area is determined by the Hough transform and can be tracking in the following frames. The generation of hypothesis is based on horizontal edges, due to bumper, rear window, plate, etc. and detected by a Sobel filter. The verification of the hypothesis consists to find the “U” shape. For that we verify the presence of two vertical edges, left and right, each connected to a horizontal edge. Satisfactory results have been obtained, representing 90% of correct detection in different situations and with a good rate of 11 frame/s. The algorithm can be implemented on embedded DSP platform.

Feature selection based on RF signals and KNN Rule: Application to microemboli classification 基于射频信号和KNN规则的特征选择在微栓子分类中的应用

In the human body, emboli can produce severe damage like stroke or heart attack. Commonly used Doppler detection techniques have shown their limits in the determination of the embolus nature. An alternative approach would be to examine Radio Frequency (RF) signal instead of Doppler signals. Under specific conditions of the ultrasound excitation wave, gaseous bubbles show a nonlinear behavior exploited to distinguish gaseous from solid microemboli. Fundamental and second harmonic signals amplitudes and bandwidths are selected for input parameters. Moreover, fundamental and second harmonic spectral components have been approximated by Gaussian functions. In this paper, we propose a new approach for feature selection based on the K-Nearest Neighbors Rule (KNNR). The technique proved an effective improving classification. Feature selection and extraction not only indicate a good ability to find the most relevant set of inputs that result in higher classification accuracy but also to reduce the size of feature vector.

EEG-based automatic epilepsy diagnosis using the instantaneous frequency with sub-band energies 基于脑电图的瞬时频率子带能量癫痫自动诊断

This paper presents a novel approach for classifying the electroencephalogram (EEG) signals as normal or abnormal. This method uses features derived from the instantaneous frequency (IF) and energies of EEG signals in different spectral sub-bands. Results of applying the method to a database of real signals reveal that, for the given classification task, the selected features consistently exhibit a high degree of discrimination between the EEG signals collected from healthy and epileptic patients. The analysis of the effect of window length used during feature extraction indicates that features extracted from EEG segments as short as 5 seconds achieve a high average total accuracy of 95.3%.

In this paper, we propose a new association of active contour model (ACM) with the unscented Kalman filter (UKF) to track deformable objects in a video sequence. The proposed approach is based on the use of the selective binary and Gaussian filtering regularization level set associated to the UKF (ACM-SBGFRLS-UKF) instead of the traditional level set (TLS) associated to the UKF (ACM-TLS-UKF). In fact, in the present work, we exploit the various advantages that the SBGFRLS offers compared to the TLS which suffers, from the sensibility to initials conditions and noise, to the impossibility to select partial or global segmentation and also from the complexity of the approach. Finally, a comparison study is presented, throughout several numerical simulations, of this new association approach ACM-SBGFRLS-UKF against the ACM-TLS-UKF for tracking deformable objects in a video sequence.

In the last years the research in the field of digital watermarking evolved toward non conventional watermarking applications, which we refer to as watermark aided audio processing. In this paper, we present some of our contributions to this new concept of watermarking for audio processing, namely doping watermarkand witness watermark. The doping watermarking modifies the statistical characteristics of signals in order to fulfill particular conditions requested by algorithms or systems: it may stationarize, gaussianize a signal or make its characteristic function band-limited. We further show that a watermark can be used as a witness to channel distortions, and hence facilitates channel identification.

Study on measuring method of thrombolyses for wire type stirrer 丝式搅拌器溶栓测定方法的研究

A cerebral thrombus or blood clot might cause cerebral stroke and even decease if the clot could not be dissolved within several hours after it was formed. This paper presents a fundamental study on development of a new type of mechanical micro stirrer for assisting the dissolution of the thrombus with a few amount of thrombolytic agent. The micro stirrer is made of a simple structure with a piezoelectric. An efficient excitation method for stirring up the thrombus to get a quick dissolution is investigated. Furthermore, to evaluate the dissolution state in vivo, the method using the stirrer as both the stimulator to beat the clot and the probe to evaluate its solubility is proposed.
