The author in the article examined the impact of foreign direct investment on the development of the oil andgas industry in Kazakhstan from the time it gained independence to the present, because attraction of foreign investorscontributed to the restoration of oil and gas fields and led to the improvement of technological equipment andsocial infrastructure. The adoption of relevant regulations and the development of investment policies to determinethe further development of oil and gas area is an urgent issue. The object of study has not lost its significance, on thecontrary, in the current conditions of the crisis experienced by the world economy and the suspension of economicactivity, questions of the development of the oil and gas industry not only in our country, but also in the entire worldeconomy have become more acute and require theoretical rethinking. As a result, it is necessary to continue the studyof the problems of directions and volumes of foreign direct investment in this industry.Scientific publications that analyze and predict the further development of the oil industry in modern conditionsare becoming extremely necessary and in demand. The development of the industry determines, and in turn, dependson the revitalization of the entire world economy (as a stage of the world economic cycle), and the way out of the world economy from quarantine in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. World oil prices will depend on this, andhence the prospects for the analyzed scientific problem. The study showed that foreign direct investment contributed to geological exploration, improvement of oiland gas fields, construction of infrastructure in Kazakhstan and solved the problem of oil and gas export to foreigncountries. However, the unequal position of national and foreign investors was observed in the oil and gas industryof Kazakhstan, as a result of which the most favorable position for the foreign investors was changed. Also, morethan 62% of export earnings were oil and gas condensate. In the event of an outflow of capital from foreign investors, there is a danger to the stability of the economy of Kazakhstan. The results of the study should be taken into account in the development of the state investment plan.

The article reflects the methodological aspects of diagnosing the level of formation of competenciesof the manager of innovative activity. The article discusses the competencies of the managerial profession– working at the average managerial level and engaged in innovative activities. An approach to theformation of a model of competencies of the manager of innovation in the form of an ordered list of fivegroups: professional, functional, digital, sociocultural and cognitive competencies are proposed. Themethodology was tested on the example of a focus group of managers of innovative activities of the citiesof Nur-Sultan and Almaty. A matrix of ranking the competencies of the managers of innovation hasbeen developed, which allows determining the priorities for the development of competencies accordingto the criteria of importance and problem. Criteria for choosing teaching methods and developingcompetencies (the number of trainees, practical orientation, level of preparedness, level of educationalmotivation and cognitive activity, cost and duration of training) are determined. The characteristic ofthe most common methods is given and an algorithm is proposed for choosing the method of trainingand developing the competencies of the manager of innovation according to the selected criteria. Theresults of the study show that the important functional competencies of innovative activity among therespondents fell into the category of «lagging behind» and the degree of formation of most professionalcompetencies is not at the proper level of development.

This study examined the effect of globalisation and oil revenue on health expenditure in Nigeria. Thestudy used annual time series data spanning from 1980 to 2018. Unit root test was used to check thestationary level of the variables and Unrestricted Error Correction Model (UECM) and Dynamic OrdinaryLeast Square (DOLS) were used to estimate the model. The dependent variable was health expenditurewhile the explanatory variables were globalisation, oil revenue, health care price, per capita income, life expectancy, mortality rate urbanization and corruption. The result showed that oil receipt had a longrun and positive impact on health expenditure in Nigeria. However, globalisation had a negative andsignificant impact in the long-run though not significant in the short run. The implication is that both oilrevenue and globalisation are still very important variables influencing health expenditure in Nigeria. Itis recommended that government should increase allocation to the health sector from oil fiscal revenueso as to improve access to health care services in Nigeria. Also, the government should work on how thecountry can benefit from globalisation through more export and less of import.

The competitiveness of the national economy is one of the most important economic concepts. There are many of its definitions and methods of measurement. Since the country’s competitiveness is formed by a huge number of factors, a literature review was carried out, as a result of which macroeconomic factors affecting the competitiveness of the economy were selected. The purpose of the article is to assess the degree of influence of selected factors on the global competitiveness of countries. For this, panel data of 60 countries for the period from 2006 to 2018 were collected. Based on this data, a regression analysis of panel data with fixed and random effects was carried out, where the dependent variable is the Global Competitiveness Index, and 22 macroeconomic factors act as independent variables. The Hausman test confirmed the preference for using a panel data model with fixed effects over a panel data model with random effects. As a result, 2 models were constructed that showed the degree of influence of the following factors to change the global competitiveness index: gross capital formation, total factor productivity, average labor productivity, pace of inflation rate, share of the current account balance in GDP, share of the employed population in the total population of the country, oil prices, growth rate of oil prices.

A high rate of return on the investment is crucially dependent on rational investment decision makingbecause rational investment decision ensures the successful return of an investment, especially instocks. Investment decision making is affected by many factors; most of them are related to psychologicaland behavioural. Since it is difficult to make rational decisions about investment, researchers are tryingto discover the factors that influence the investor’s behaviour about decision making. For the rationalestimation of success rate in stocks, investors have tried many traditional methods but reached on unsatisfactoryresults. However, Behavioral Finance has addressed this issue and discovered the most crucialfactors that may affect the investment decision making. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the influenceof the factors of behavioural finance that affect decision making in the stock exchange. Three factorshave been selected and used to gauge the impact on investment decision making. These factors include;overconfidence bias, representativeness bias, and availability bias. A structured close-ended questionnairehas been used to collect the data, and data was collected from 211 respondents who are investorson Karachi stock exchange. To analyze the collected data, multiple linear regression (MLR) model hasbeen used. The result of this study shows that all three independent variables have a significant impacton investment decision making. Moreover, the relationship is positive between the independent anddependent variables. Therefore, it can be concluded that the null hypothesis is rejected. This study willassist investors to make decisions rationally in the stock market.

The phenomenon of social media and consequent transformations of our life and work represent aresearch interest in the area of people’s online behavior, which increasingly impacts marketing scienceand practice. Prior studies investigated motivational factors of social media usage. This research aimsto reveal these factors’ antecedents such as different online content formats or virtual experience types. The study’s output contributes to the enhancement of social media theory. The sample includes 103KIMEP University’s bachelor students as representatives of generation Z in Kazakhstan. Factor analysisand structural equation modeling were performed to process the data with the application of SPSS 19.0and WarpPLS 6.0 programs. Based on the research’s results we suggest three modal antecedents includingverbal-based, pictorial-based, and animated-based virtual experience types, which affect socializing, entertainment and self-status seeking motivations to use social media. Application of the specific onlinecontent formats to the particular social media gratification is supposed to improve the effectiveness andefficiency of elaboration and implementation of consumer communication programs and customer relationshipstrategy in achieving marketing and sales targets.
