However, doing this in virtually because of pandemic is tiring, all parties involved felt extreme fatigue after the event was over. It is because virtual meetings force human brain and body to put more focus and more alert for a long time, in the end, even casual conversation feels tiring. The samples taken for this research are located in Jakarta, focused to 20-29 years old  men and women. Data collection method is using qualitative approach with observation techniques, literature study, FGD, and interviews. When situations force us to shift into the digital and virtual realms, a recommendation for creative content format for screen-based social media is needed to be studied further, resulting in all parties involved do not have to feel an extreme fatigue but can become a useful communicator who offers solutions to others.

Indonesia is known to the world for the tourism it offers. Various approaches to tourism are now emerging over time, and one of the focuses of government development is village-based tourism or ecovillage toursim. The development of this tourist village itself cannot run well if there is no cooperation between the local government and the local community. Therefore, there is a need for communication between the two parties who have a similar vision and mission and are able to work together to develop an ecovillage. This is also what the West Java government and the people of Garut city are doing to develop tourist villages in their area. This study aims to determine the pattern of information dissemination carried out by the Garut Regency Tourism and Culture Office (DISPARBUD) in the development of an ecovillage-based tourism. Using a qualitative descriptive case study method and involving three members of DISPARBUD as the participants, the results of this study indicate that DIPSPARBUD has a simple pattern of disseminating information to local communities regarding the development of ecovillage. This pattern goes through three stages namely; (1) Information distribution (determining communicators, compiling messages, scheduling socialization), (2) Performance reporting (analyzing and responding to the effects of communication, (3) Managing stakeholders (evaluation). With this communication pattern, DISPARBUD seeks to optimize the delivery of information regarding development a tourist village that continues to move forward and is expected to produce many other tourist villages in the future

Internet penetration and technological developments have transformed society into a digital community. Political communication cannot run stagnant but continues to advance following developments. In Europe, this digitalization phenomenon gave birth to a new form in the political field, namely the birth of digital parties. The term digital party cannot be applied to political parties that use social media as a means of communication, but rather a party that upholds and applies digital philosophy in its internal and external communication. Paolo Gerbaudo sparked the idea of a Digital Party with five main criteria: cloud-based parties, participationism, hyperleader, superbase and plebiscitarianism 2.0. The main goal of digital parties is to empower people in an idealistic democratic sphere. In Indonesia, Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI) is well-known as a political party filled with youngsters and uses digital apps for political communication. After the 2019 General Election ended and failed to enter the central parliament (DPR RI), PSI presented a digital platform called the Solidarity Application for the public. The Solidarity Apps is expected to bring PSI's elected district legislative members (DPRD) closer to the public. PSI is the first political party to present this digital medium to the public. This qualitative case study research examines three things academically: Firstly, why does PSI use the Solidarity Application as a form of political communication? Secondly, knowing the use of the Solidarity Application. Lastly, understanding PSI's position within the framework of the Digital Party concept of Paulo Gerbaudo. The researcher conducted in-depth interviews with Director of Digital Platform of PSI, Sigit Widodo and a Member of the District Legislative from PSI, Yoel Yosaphat. This paper argues that PSI cannot yet be categorized as a digital party. Nonetheless, PSI is already in the right direction to evolve as a digital party in Indonesia because evolution is a process that takes time. Several obstacles in the pursuit of a digital party are discussed.

door for every child, especially girls, to have equal opportunities to participate widely regardless of their gender status. The West Kalimantan Children's Forum exists as a means for girls to express their opinions and contribute more to the full fulfilment of children's rights. The historical background of past ethnic conflicts makes the reconciliation of ethnic conflicts in West Kalimantan continue to this day. Indirectly the participation of children, especially girls, is very calculated for establishing harmony between ethnicities and all groups of people in West Kalimantan. The study is aimed to the initial review of phenomenological studies in looking at the critical awareness process through participatory intercultural communication processes carried out by female leaders who are children of Dayak and Madurese ethnicity at the West Kalimantan Children's Forum. This research uses a qualitative method drawn from a phenomenological perspective so that the process of individual experience becomes very important as a witness to the journey of reconciliation. The theory of Liberation Education from the perspective of Paulo Freire is used to see how far the process of critical awareness through participatory intercultural communication processes can encourage individuals to proceed in reconciliation for the sake of inter-ethnic harmony through participation as a member of the West Kalimantan Children's Forum. The subject of this research involved girls as members of the Children's Forum in the form of in-depth interviews to see to what extent the public sphere provides an opportunity to process together reconciliation which is still ongoing today. This study explains that the achievement of critical awareness in girls' participation in conflict reconciliation still has to go through several stages of awareness, such as magical and naive. The process of openness, learning, and accepting differences, will make girls' leadership reach the highest critical awareness and be able to participate fully in development that involves quality young people.

Understanding the patient's and companion's perception of the patient's illness can improve the patient's compliance and overall satisfaction. Patients' understanding of their illness is essential for recovery. Doctors should understand the perceptions and interpretations about the illness, experience, knowledge and culture of patients and their companions. The disease is what happens to the patient. Arthur Kleinman's Explanatory Model of Illness provides a guide for understanding the patient's point of view. The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of stroke experienced by patients, according to the point of view of the patient and his companion, and the treatment they had, second, to explore how the patient and the companion convey the condition to the doctor. The method uses a phenomenological approach through interviews, observations, and secondary patient data. There are two primary informants, namely two patients and two companions. This study's results indicate a gap regarding the meaning of the disease between the patient's conception and the health sciences. Patients' and their companion's perceptions denote the economic, social, and political background in terms of the patient's illness. The information that patient and companion convey to doctors, usually do not whole information about what they have done during the journey of treatment. Models for interaction that are mainly developed are between doctor and patient. For effective communication between doctor and companion to help the patient better, there is an important model for consultation that includes triadic communication: doctor-patient-companion which can be advantageous. Important also for the doctor to upgrade the knowledge about understanding not only biomedical information but also the socio, psycho, cultural, and religion of the patient.

The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of stroke experienced by patients, according to the point of view of the patient and his companion, and the treatment they had, second, to explore how the patient and the companion convey the condition to the doctor. The method uses a phenomenological approach through interviews, observations, and secondary patient data. There are two primary informants, namely two patients and two companions. This study's results indicate a gap regarding the meaning of the disease between the patient's conception and the health sciences. Patients' and their companion's perceptions denote the economic, social, and political background in terms of the patient's illness. The information that patient and companion convey to doctors, usually do not whole information about what they have done during the journey of treatment. Models for interaction that are mainly developed are between doctor and patient. For effective communication between doctor and companion to help the patient better, there is an important model for consultation that includes triadic communication: doctor-patient-companion which can be advantageous. Important also for the doctor to upgrade the knowledge about understanding not only biomedical information but also the socio, psycho, cultural, and religion of the patient.","PeriodicalId":34799,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Komunikasi","volume":"254 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75552069","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The development of technology and the communication industry has caused drastic changes in the media industry, especially print media. A great number of newspapers and magazines stopped printing because it was difficult to compete with online media. Therefore, the term “news desert” appears to refer to a community or area that is not covered by newspapers due to the declining population of local newspapers in various regions. The community or region seems to have disappeared from the public eye. Important issues, problems, and aspirations of residents in the region are no longer heard and their existence seems to be no longer essential. This is certainly troubling, especially regarding the function of the media as the fourth estate in democracy. However, in various regions, online alternative media are now emerging that only focus on local issues, especially issues that are not or rarely touched by mainstream media. This study aims to find out how online alternative media try to overcome the phenomenon of news desert in Indonesia. The research was conducted by case study approach with two sources of information for data collection. The first one is manual observation on two online alternative media Bandung Bergerak and Bale Bengong and the second one is interviews with the Editor-in-Chief of the two media. Based on this research, several results were obtained, 1) alternative media report news about local communities that are rarely presented in the mainstream media and causing news desert, 2) an in-depth data-based journalism approach and citizen journalism in alternative media are capable of uniting local communities and communities, 3) news that does not rely on clickbait or the latest updates in online alternative media can be enjoyed without expiration,  and 4) the proximity of online alternative media to the society is one of the leading strategies for overcoming the news desert.

Life as child labor is a compulsion that must be accepted for certain reasons. Some of the reasons why children in the Cibaduyut shoe industry center work as child laborers, including the living environment, which is indeed a home industry area, work that has been passed down from parents to children, to unmet needs from the family so that children have to look for jobs. own money to meet their needs. The purpose of this study is to analyze the experiences of child laborers regarding their communication behavior. The theory that underlies this research is the Phenomenological theory of Viktor Frankl, and the Symbolic Interaction theory of Mead. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenology as the research method. The results showed that the experience of child laborers regarding communication behavior is closely related to communication in shoe repair shops with bosses and employers, adult co-workers and fellow child laborers, peer groups, and family members. The communication of child laborers with the four environments encourages them to create distinctive cultural characteristics in the form of a world of symbols created together. The suffering they face is interpreted differently by child laborers, so that child laborers do not carry out the process of movements to lead to a better life.
