This study examines the complementary or substitution role of audit committee independence (ACInd), risk management committee (RMC) and institutional investors on non-financial risk disclosure (NFRD). While the existing literature provides inconclusive evidence on the individual influences of various monitoring mechanisms on NFRD, it is necessary to examine whether their combined monitoring roles are present as many monitoring mechanisms coexist within an organisation. This study examined a sample of 864 Bursa Malaysia companies from 2016 to 2018. The Delphi technique is used to finalise NFRD items. This study performed regression and simple slope tests to examine the complementary and substitutive role of ACInd, RMC and institutional investors. The findings show that RMC is substitutive to AcInd towards NFRD. This demonstrates that RMC has the expertise and potential to lessen any information asymmetry, making it the most reliable monitoring mechanism. These findings indicate the significance of establishing a standalone RMC among Malaysian companies to supervise the NFRD reporting.

In recent decades, consumers have been eventually shifting towards responsive green consumption behaviour. This study will examine the role of the perceived value (social value, environmental value and economic value) on green consumption attitude and which, in turn, affects young consumers' purchase intention towards eco-bag. A conceptual model was adopted by developing hypotheses and analysed through structural equation modelling. The survey was performed where data were obtained from 373 young consumers from Chattogram, the commercial capital of Bangladesh. The empirical results suggest that economic value, social value and environmental value have a significant and positive influence on the green consumption attitude. Furthermore, green consumption attitude is also found to be a critical factor influencing the intention of young consumers for purchasing eco-bag. This research will help marketers, policymakers, and concerned stakeholders to create awareness among customers regarding eco-bag usage benefits and drive the industry towards sustainability and enhance green revolution to the competitive market structure.

This research examined the potential for diversifying Malaysian Islamic and conventional stock indexes with other commodities, such as crude oil, Bitcoin, and gold, with time-varying differences or investors' varied investment horizons, which researchers had previously overlooked. Methods like the Multivariate GARCH-Dynamic Conditional Correlation (MGARCH-DCC) and the continuous wavelet transformation (CWT) were employed since they are time-varying and time scale-dependent. Crude oil, Bitcoin, and gold are shown to be leading the stock indices in our vector error correction model (VECM) analysis, implying that changes in the price of these commodities influence the stock indices. The findings also indicate that investors exposed to Malaysian stock indexes and investing in Bitcoin may benefit from significant diversification advantages across almost all investment horizons. However, the MGARCH-DCC result shows that Bitcoin is highly unpredictable. As a precaution, Malaysian investors should choose gold as a diversification instrument which is more stable. The wavelet model demonstrates that investors in Malaysia’s Islamic and conventional indices may benefit from the gold holding for durations ranging from 1 to 64 days and 128 days beyond. The findings highlight the importance of using contemporary techniques to identify diversification opportunities for investors with varied investment horizons or holding stocks for various times.
