The α-β algorithm is an efficient technique for searching game trees. In this paper, we present the detailed implementation of parallel α-β algorithm on our Engineering and Scientific Computation Accelerator (ESCA) system, which is a heterogeneous multi-core SIMD (Single Instruction stream Multiple Data stream) architecture to accelerate the compute-intensive parallel computing in high performance applications and has enhanced for control organization. The conditional execution provided by ESCA has significant benefit to implement the α-β pruning, and the communication mechanism between the control unit and PEs (processing elements) can accumulate information for load balancing to gain better processor utilization. We choose synthetic game tree for the evaluation and the experimental results with the metric of speedup are presented with varied number of processing elements under various size of trees.

In this paper, simulations of railway catenary supporting system have been performed with finite element method (FEM) in different wind and ice-coating disasters with or without a locomotive passing by. The results of stress and displacement indicate that existing catenary supporting structure is capable of meeting the requirement on strength and stiffness in most cases, though, the contact wire will have an excessive deflection if the wind velocity is at 37m/s and higher or the thickness of ice-coating exceeds 20mm. Measures shall be taken in such cases and the junction between inclined cantilever tube on supporting brace and strut shall also be reinforced. Achievements of this paper will be theoretical reference for disaster prevention design and operation of traction power supply system in relative engineering area.

For the safety issues of night long-distance bus drivers, a test system that real-time continuously acquires vehicles driving parameter, traffic environmental images as well as ECG physiological state of drivers under night-time driving conditions is designed. The impact of continuous driving time, night-time conditions and others on the driver’s heart electrical parameters and driving behaviors is studied. The experiments were carried out on 11 drivers and the total journeys were over 11,800 km. The experiments’ results indicate that: The long-distance bus drivers. The driver’s average heart rate shows a downward trend as the driving time extends. And the average heart rate while driving is 13~18 times higher than the average heart rate while resting. Under night highway free-flow conditions and the highest safety speed 100 km/h of the passenger transport company regulations, the driver's 50%, 75% and 95% percentile speed are 93.6 km/h, 99.3 km/h, 103.2km/h respectively, and 50%, 75% and 95% of the throttle pedal position are 75%, 85%, 90% of the largest pedal trip respectively.

The actuators’ mechanical properties evaluation is a fuzzy concept with multiple properties and classes. The fuzzy data quantification, analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (AHP-FCE) methods are combined to establish the actuators’ mechanical properties evaluation (MPE) model. The flowchart of actuators’ MPE and selection on AHP-FCE was considered and characterized in detail. The weighted average principle has been taken to replace the maximum membership principle in dealing with the actuator’ mechanical properties comprehensive value. One pneumatic actuator and one electric actuator in same working demand are taken as an example to verify the evaluation model. The result shows that it is effective, correct, easy to apply and worth to being recommended in similar evaluation field.

This article analyzes and summarizes adaptability of different road networks, combining with road network characteristics and road network layout feature. The factors that influence the selection of road network structural form are proposed and their limitations to the selection of road network structure form are also given. Considering these factors, this article provides reasonable and practical method to select road network structural form. Specific cases of urban road network structural form are finally illustrated to explain the proposed selection method of urban road network structural form.

General profiles chosen from worn wheel profiles and railheads (briefly, worn wheel and rail profile) measured by wheel-rail profile admeasuring apparatus were used to build the finite element models, and the new/worn wheel-rail contact problems were analyzed respectively on the tangent and curved track. Variable regulations of contact area’s size, shape and position were generalized. The results show that, on the tangent and curved track, contact area’s acreage is small and the peak point of equivalent stress is large occur in the model of new wheel-old rail, which indicates that turning worn wheel profile into original profile is unreasonable. Compared with other models, the contact model of old wheel-old rail shows the largest contact area’s size, and such wheel-rail matching is the best one, which provides references for designing the turned wheel profile to adapt to worn railhead profile and reducing the wear of wheel and railhead profile.

With increasing of the present number of motor vehicle, parking is becoming worse. Parking guidance turns into a general attentive problem. The existing urban parking guidance stayed at the prediction of parking space, which can not forwardly provide a reasonable guidance to the demand of urban parking. There are two limitations of this method: no parking space affording to drivers after their arriving and jam due to shortage of traffic distributaries. Based on summarizing the status of parking guidance, an active parking guidance model (APGM) is developed. This paper studies system framework, work flow, and main technology. It is helpful for guiding active parking guidance.

This paper analyzed the structure and principle of a regenerative electromagnetic shock absorber in detail. The innovative shock absorber resembles linear generator in principle and can generate electric power through the relative reciprocating motion between coil assembly and permanent magnet assembly. At the same time, the damping can remove discomfort caused by road roughness. The regenerated electric power can be recovered through battery. The structure parameters of the shock absorber and performance parameters of shock absorber material were determined according to vehicle weighing 1.3 ton. The finite element analysis was carried to magnetic field of the shock absorber. The performance parameters of shock absorber were calculated according to structure parameters and magnetic field analysis result. Analysis and calculation results prove the viability of this shock absorber.
