Glass ceiling beliefs, performance, and turnover intention through work engagement 通过工作投入,玻璃天花板信念、绩效和离职意向

The purpose of the paper is to study the relationship among the glass ceiling beliefs (denial, resilience, resignation and acceptance) with performance and turnover intention through work engagement. The authors conducted a cross-sectional survey among 420 women employees from banking sector in India and structural equation modelling (SEM) has been performed for the analysis. The findings of the study support the mediating role of work engagement between glass ceiling beliefs with performance and turnover intention. Denial and resilience related positively to work engagement and performance, and negatively to turnover intention. Resignation and acceptance related negatively to work engagement and performance, and positively to turnover intention. The study recommends further longitudinal studies in this area and exploration of more career aspects and industrial sectors for future studies. This study is the first to explain the relationship of glass ceiling beliefs with performance and turnover intention, and mediating role of work engagement.

From the industrial revolution to globalisation and integrative labour markets 从工业革命到全球化和一体化劳动力市场

This paper aims to assess and analyse the legal regime, the importance, and the legal and regulatory effect that trade unions, and subsequently collective bargaining, have in a legal system and in the hierarchy of norms therein, both at the national and international level. After a systemic principal overview, the construction of the paper departs from the fact that under the foundational principles of international law, employees' rights protection is guaranteed by both custom and codified norms. However, the form of enforcement of this social guarantee is highly dependent on the consensual nature of the international arena and on the states' compliance with the internationally accepted standards and their immersion into the national systems of law. Moreover, the paper analyses, in an interdisciplinary manner, both the legal regimes of collective bargaining and trade unions and comparative cases, with particular stress on the UAE and the situation at the regulatory and enforcement levels therein. Finally, the findings of the paper militate towards a more prolific enforcement regime and the development of adjacent resources, regulatory or policy related, for a higher protection of employees' rights thereto.

Employee perceptions of an expanded form of corporate social responsibility in predicting job attitudes and turnover intentions 员工对扩大形式的企业社会责任的感知在预测工作态度和离职意图

Multiple studies suggest that employee perceptions of CSR positively influence employee attitudes and behaviour as well as organisational performance. Despite existing research in this area, there remains an opportunity to expand our knowledge and achieve a better understanding of the interconnections among these variables. The present study involved measuring employee perceptions of an expanded form of CSR that is proactive, discretionary, and focused on positive impacts, as well as reactive, mandatory, and aimed at avoiding negative impacts. These perceptions were examined through structural equation modelling (SEM) in a larger, nomological net of employee variables, and were found to have positive effects on job satisfaction, organisational commitment, and work engagement, as well as negative effects on turnover intentions. As an aside, older employees, relative to younger employees, reported more positive CSR perceptions, higher levels of work engagement, and lower levels of turnover intentions.

The aim of our study is to evaluate the satisfaction of university staff with their work environment as a function of relationships of the university with its host town. The ESET (a scale of satisfaction with the work environment) was administered to 342 administrative staff working in three French universities. When compared with data collected from an inventory assessing the university's role in the local community, our results, while needing to be qualified, show that staff show greater satisfaction with their work environment when the university is less integrated in the town.

Measuring job satisfaction of customer-facing employees: scale development and validation in the context of organised retail sector 测量面向客户员工的工作满意度:规模的发展和验证在有组织的零售部门的背景下

A very short multidimensional scale consisting of 18 items has been developed for measuring the job satisfaction of customer-facing employees, so that its length would not be deterrent for practical applications. Using a sample of 632 customer-facing employees working with organised retail stores in the Delhi-National Capital Region (Delhi-NCR), India, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) has been conducted with a subsample of 200 respondents and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) has been conducted with a subsample of 432 respondents. A series of EFA and CFA have resulted in 18 items categorised under five factors namely - working conditions; interpersonal relationships with co-workers and supervisor/manager; compensation; career advancement and growth opportunities; and training and development. The stability of the factor structure was assessed by again conducting CFA on a validation sample of 329 respondents. The overall measure has demonstrated construct validity and each of the five subscales has exhibited high internal consistency.

Driving employee performance through talent management 通过人才管理推动员工绩效

The purpose of this study is to investigate talent management practices through relevant literature, shedding more light intopractices prevalent in commercial banks in India and their relationship with employee performance and providing suggestions to banks so that the banks may use the best of talent management practices to make their employees perform well on the job. The paper opted a survey of approximately 600 bank employees comprising both public and private sector banks operating in haryana (India). The study covers six selected commercial banks in all, taking three from public sector namely SBI, PNB and OBC and three from the private sector, HDFC, ICICI and Axis Bank. We hypothesised that all the talent management practices significantly enhance the employee performance in both public and private sector banks. The results of the analysis of variance signify that the F- statistic value is 226.311 and is significant at the p < 0.001.

Energy saving behaviour among individuals in two different contexts: analysing the individuals' energy saving behaviour at home and workplace 两种不同背景下个体的节能行为:分析个体在家庭和工作场所的节能行为

The present research attempts to study the energy saving behaviour among individuals in two different contexts: at home and at the workplace. The study proposed and tested a model in which, value orientation, environmental concern, perceived consumer effectiveness (PCE) and personal norm to have an influence on the energy saving behaviour. A total of 359 usable responses was collected via an online survey in India. The data were analysed using structural equation modelling. The findings reported that the altruistic value positively influences the environmental concern, PCE and personal norm which further influences the energy saving behaviour at home (SBH). However, PCE was not found to have any significant impact on individuals' energy saving behaviour in the workplace. Further, a significant difference between individual energy saving behaviour at two different contexts was also reported. Based on the findings of the study, implications for energy savings are also discussed.

Developing and managing young talent: framework of talent management strategies for Gen Y 青年人才的培养与管理:Y世代人才管理战略框架

With talent management (TM) becoming an area of growing concern in the literature, the purpose of this paper is to investigate TM strategies for Gen Y which has specific traits, needs and expectations and it is vital for those organisations who understand to attract and retain them. The paper is based on an extensive analysis of existing literature and identifies the unique features of Gen Y employees to develop strategies to manage them for better results at workplace. It is found that just an innovative thought process and empathetic understanding shall help organisations manage better. The paper further elaborates on TM strategies of Gen Y through consolidated framework that contributes to the existing literature.

Interaction between tolerance levels of people and adoption of green supply chain management practices: an empirical case study in the domestic appliances industry 人们的容忍度水平与绿色供应链管理实践的互动——家电行业的实证研究

To establish the scenario of adopting green supply chain management (GSCM) practices by navigating into the gateway of reality for sustainable environment. To understand the connection between tolerance level of people and adoption of GSCM practices and thereby investigating the perceptions of different pressure groups. The work relies on survey results taken in different pressure groups for domestic appliance industry. Survey questionnaire was developed, and responses were taken in the form of likert scale for 167 respondents. Survey results explain that adoption of GSCM practices is not much explained, and some sections of people are not able to tolerate the practices. Either they do not care for environment and do not know about GSCM. The paper discusses the lifestyle of people and its interaction with environmental remedy. This paper brings new insights on perceptions of regulatory, customer, shareholder and community pressure groups towards adoption of GSCM practices. Survey research method is limited to domestic appliances sector, and results may vary when tolerance level of people changes. Fluctuation in lifestyle of people to adapt to changes is a limitation in this paper. The paper brings out new insights on different categories of people. New findings are given on thoughts to deal with prejudices of people. Future research is suggested to find missing links to develop this body of literature.
