Attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity (ADDH) is a common behavioral disorder in childhood. The main drug for treatment is methylphenidate. We identified the prevalence of ADDH by determining the use of this drug in our environment.
There are few data on the prevalence of ADDH in the literature, but our data are in line with the ranges cited in various articles.

Control rates of type 2 diabetes are usually poor both in the terms of diabetes control per se and associated cardiovascular risk factors. The present study evaluated diabetes control in patients attending an Internal Medicine outpatient clinic.
This cross-sectional, multicenter study was performed in hospitals in the BARbanza area (La Coruña) and VIgo (The BARVI study) and analyzed values of HbA1c, systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), body mass index (BMI) and smoking. Control rates were evaluated according to the American Diabetes Association's guidelines.
A total of 270 patients were included, 107 (39.6%) were men and 163 (60.4%) were women. The mean age was 71 years (range: 32-94). Adequate control was achieved in the following percentages: HbA1c in 60.7%, SBP in 38.5%, DBP in 63.3%, both SBP and DBP in 32.5%, LDL in 39.6%, HDL in 28.8%, BMI in 15.9% and smoking in 82.2%. Complete control, understood as control of BP, LDL and HbA1c, was achieved in only 16.25% but this percentage fell to 9.8% when overweight-obesity was included. Thus only one in 10 patients was properly controlled.
There is a wide margin to improve control of patients with diabetes and their associated cardiovascular risk. Special efforts should be made to achieve targets in these patients.

Francisco Luis Dehesa Santisteban
Introduction
The author's interest in food and food-related diseases started at school and continued when he studied Veterinary Science at university. This interest further intensified throughout his career in the City Council of Bilbao.
Throughout history, the food-health relationship has been viewed from distinct perspectives and is currently acknowledged to be highly important from the medical and healthcare point of view. The same can be said of food technology, which offers safe and high-quality products to consumers.
Heat treatment to preserve milk revolutionized the sale of this essential product in industrial societies. Pasteurization, named after Louis Pasteur, who was the first to discover and systematically apply this technique, was supported by numerous physicians and veterinary surgeons as the best method to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases through milk consumption and became mandatory in most western countries in the first half of the twentieth century.
From the perspective of the principles of hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP), traditional methods of making cured sheep's milk cheese, such as Idiazabal, use empirical preventive criteria.

Blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome is a rare entity characterized by the presence of multiple hemangiomas located in the skin and other organs, especially in the gastrointestinal tract. This syndrome usually manifests as occult or over gastrointestinal hemorrhage, with anemia secondary to blood loss. We present the case of a man with anemia due to blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome. The patient also showed splenoportal thrombosis and splenic infarction. We have found no other publications in the literature reporting this association.

Traumatic neuroma is a reactive tumor of the peripheral neural tissue produced after an injury. This entity appears in the oral cavity usually after a trauma or surgical procedures such as tooth extraction. We report a case of traumatic neuroma in the palate of a 71-year-old man and review the most important clinicopathological features of this tumor.
