Numerical and experimental investigation of noise coupling perturbed by ESD currents on printed circuit boards 印刷电路板上静电放电电流扰动噪声耦合的数值与实验研究

This work demonstrates an experimental setup with good repeatability for measuring the ESD-induced noise on high-speed PCB. The effect of the test system impedance and coaxial cables on the measurement of the discharge behavior is also theoretically and experimentally studied. The corresponding FDTD numerical method based on a novel ESD hybrid source model is proposed to predict the noise coupling phenomena in the high-speed printed circuits. The agreement between the numerical prediction and measurement results is good.

Intermediate level circuit model for time-domain analysis of shielding using SPICE 用SPICE建立屏蔽时域分析的中间电平电路模型

Time domain as opposed to frequency domain analysis is necessary in certain cases, for instance, to determine the effect of transients on non-linear systems. Time domain analysis methods however have the disadvantage of being significantly more complex and requiring much longer solution times than frequency domain analysis methods. Conventional methods for time domain waveguide analysis include the finite difference time domain method and the method of moments. Intermediate level circuit modeling methods have been shown to be far more efficient than these conventional methods. A novel equivalent circuit of a waveguide section suitable for intermediate level circuit modeling is proposed that has the advantage of being easier and quicker to formulate, and requires significantly less time to reach a solution than conventional time domain methods. The time domain solution is arrived at by utilizing a circuit simulator (SPICE) to analyze the intermediate level circuit for waveguide sections. Results obtained using the proposed circuit in SPICE were found to be credible when compared to known analytical results.

The relationship between the Earth current and the ground resistance meter's indication 地电流与地电阻计指示之间的关系

Recently, the current (that is to say earth current) including many frequency components, flow in the soil. The earth current may influence the grounding-resistance measurement and the noise reduction effectiveness by means of grounding. In this study, authors pay attention to problem in the grounding resistance measurement and shows for a grounding-resistance measurement of the buried grounding plate that the indication of grounding-resistance meter swings in a range between some values indicated on the meter when the driving frequency, f/sub 0/, of the grounding-resistance meter has a specified relationship with an earth current frequency, and it is quantitatively shown that the grounding-resistance meter indicates the different values from the correct resistance values when the ratio of f/sub 0/ to the earth current frequency is (2m + 1):(2n + 1) (m, n: positive integer), by experiment and by calculation using the proposed model of grounding-resistance measurement systems.

Reliable transfer function measurements of PED excitations in aircrafts 飞机上PED激励的可靠传递函数测量

The determination of reliable transfer function in a complex system represents major measuring problems. In this paper a new method is described which allows transfer function measurements under variable boundary conditions without using calibrated field sources. After a brief description of the new method, various results of measurements in different aircrafts are depicted. The influence of the aircraft size and the cabin interior furnishing will be presented.

On grounded co-planar waveguides as interconnects for 10Gb/s signals 基于接地的共面波导作为10Gb/s信号的互连

The paper presents an investigation of the use of grounded coplanar waveguide (GCPW) from a signal integrity and electromagnetic radiation point of view. This transmission line structure has proved to be an ideal choice as the interconnect for the transportation of 10 Gbps or faster electrical signals on digital high-speed printed circuit boards and in high-speed connectors. While its use in microwave circuits has been well understood, a systematic investigation of its use as a high speed interconnects has not been reported. This paper presents a complete analysis and design guidelines for the implementation of grounded coplanar waveguides as high-speed interconnects for 10 Gbps signals.

Evaluation of a method used for measuring high-frequency common-mode noise at the output of an adjustable speed drive 一种用于测量可调速驱动器输出端的高频共模噪声的方法的评价

In order to provide a standard test set-up and method for the investigation of common-mode output noise produced by an adjustable speed drive (ASD), this paper evaluates the usability of the test method proposed in the EN55022/CISPR 22 standard for radio disturbance characteristics of information technology equipment. The behavior of output common mode noise is observed when parameters such as motor cable length, switching frequency and motor load are varied. Both common-mode current and common-mode voltage are measured, and the two methods are compared. It is concluded that the test method provided in EN55022/CISPR 22 can be used for measuring common-mode noise produced by an ASD.

Noise susceptibility analysis of the HF front-end electronics for the CMS high-energy experiment CMS高能实验高频前端电子器件的噪声敏感性分析

This paper addresses the study of the immunity to common mode spurious signals and external fields of an electronic system used in high-energy physics detectors. This study uses numerical simulations based on a MTL model applied to shielded cables to analyze common mode and EM radiated interferences in the connection between photodetectors and sensitive amplifiers. This set-up corresponds to the Very Forward Hadron Calorimeter (HF) in CMS and it is composed by about 3000 photo-multipliers and read-out amplifiers located about 4 meters from the photodetectors. Shielded cables are used to connect the photomultiplier anode signals to the amplifiers. This study allows predicting grounding and shielding problems and estimating the effect of interference noise at early stages of the design.

Susceptibility measurement of television monitor in GTEM-cell gtem细胞中电视监视器的敏感性测定

Electronic devices share the same resources, such as frequency and space. Their ability to sustain the interference from each other is susceptibility. It is important to find which levels of interference disrupt the normal operation of those devices. Is a portable television monitor sensitive to the interference from other electronic equipment operating at the same frequencies? What are the signal levels that will cause the interference? To solve this problem, a GTEM-cell structure was used. It has homogeneous electromagnetic field area where the equipment under test is placed. Finite element method is used to model the loaded and unloaded GTEM-cell. The interference is measured using the signal generator, Hewlett Packard 8640B and Tektronix CFG250 function generator. The insertion of the TV monitor changes the electric from 2.25 to 1.25 mV/m, so the measured results must be calibrated. The sensitivity is 97 dB [ /spl mu/V/m ] for lower frequency and dropping to 80 dB [ /spl mu/V/m ] for higher frequencies. Since they are higher than the C.I.S.P.R and FCC levels for radiated emissions for A and B class equipment at the test distance of 10 m, the tested TV monitor meets the standard requirements.

Contributing factors to the measurement system noise figure are the front-end coax loss, preamplifier noise figure, preamplifier gain, measurement device (spectrum analyzer or receiver) noise figure and measurement system configuration. Attention to the effects of these factors on EMC measurements is generally not understood. The system noise floor will have a major impact on the ability to detect and measure a weak signal. Impact on other factors, such as the introduction of intermodulation products by the preamplifier is not discussed in this paper.

Progress in quantifying validation data 量化验证数据的进展

There are a number of reasons why a numerical value is a desirable outcome for the validation of numerical models: these include the desire to report objectively and succinctly on the comparison with a benchmark result, and the need to rank order implementations of a canonical problem. The key challenge is to develop techniques which provide a numerical output that do not challenge excessively the interpretations of experienced engineers and which presents both sufficient discrimination between comparisons and consistency across the various sub-disciplines of EMC. While this paper concentrates on the subject of numerical code generation, the rationale and associated concepts are just as relevant to other aspects of EMC such as quantifying experimental repeatability. The purpose of this paper is to present some of the work done to date on generating a numerical value representing the overall quality of comparison for two sets of data. This paper reviews and contrasts various techniques currently available to produce this numerical overview. The techniques include correlograms, feature selective validation (FSV), integrated error against log frequency (IELF) and reliability factors. The paper concludes that the most taxing aspect of the work required to develop such techniques is benchmarking against human interpretation, a rating scale is discussed which can assist in obtaining this information.
