The paper deals with the analysis of LLCLC converter. It is a resonant converter which was derived of the LLC converter. The difference between is in adding a notch filter to the resonant circuit. This article focuses mainly on the mathematical analysis of the resonant circuit. In the first part it is discussed about the voltage transfer function of the converter and further we focus on the analysis of the resonant frequencies of the filter. In conclusion, the discovered relationships are applied to the design of LLC converter.

The paper deals with FoM parameter analysis of power semiconductor system's components. This parameter can be used as optimization tool of quality indicators for power supply systems. The main advantage of using FoM assessment technique for certain system's components is the elimination of simulation and physical experiments for effectivity evaluation. This paper consist of description of FoM assessment process for perspective converter structures, for various working conditions and the appropriateness of using this method is also verified by simulation experiments on models with high degree of validity. The relevancy of FoM parameter is finally evaluated in the way of efficiency (one of qualitative indicators) investigation of proposed LLC converter, where also different materials of core transformers have been verified, as well as their influence on the efficiency.

This paper describes theory and behavior of new reservation protocol called Search&Compare, which is designed according to the well-known Segment-based Robust Fast Optical Reservation Protocol. The aim of the proposed reservation protocol is to minimize the time necessary for discovery and reservation of the most suitable path (or the wavelength). In this paper are presented intra-segment time analyses of both reservation protocols. During the reservation of network resources, the optical cross-connect based on microelectro-mechanical systems is used as the core node. Optical switches based on microelectromechanical systems are currently widely applicable and represent a very promising technology for quick transmission speeds of optical switching networks.

Last few years the interest of multimedia services has rapidly increased. This leads to requirements of quality assessment, especially in video domain. Compression together with transmission link imperfection are two main factors that influence the quality. This paper deals with assessment of impact of VP8 and VP9 compression standards on the video quality using objective metrics and defining theirs efficiency. The evaluation is done for four types of sequences with Full HD and Ultra HD resolutions depending on content. The results showed that VP9 codec yields better compression efficiency than VP8. Based on BjØntegaard model VP9 achieves average bitrate saving 12,77% for FHD and 14,44% for UHD resolution ranging from 5% to 21% depending on content and resolution. For more static sequences the improvement is lower and with greater motion the enhancement rises too.

The paper deals with problem of rolling stock emergency states detection (RSESD) devices which is installed on the retrofitted railway lines in order to eliminate the faulty rolling stock. The results of the conducted detection procedures are displayed on the screen in form of reports, which also include, apart from the measuring and testing data. The mainly part is orientated to experiment realization for detection of the rolling stock emergency states via RSESD devices and analysis from operation report via TENS company processing program for different simulated events. The event was practically realised in the particular line (line no. 137 Katowice - Legnica, route Rudziniec Gliwicki - Sławiecice, track no 1, km 52.467). This line is one of the European pathways and it experiences a significant load, especially by the transport of heavy trains from Upper Silesia region westbound.

This paper proposes a new ZCS interleaved bidirectional buck-boost DC-DC converter for energy storage applications. The conventional interleaved converter has been improved with the auxiliary resonant cells in order to obtain the zero current turn-off of the main switching devices. The major advantage is the reduction of switching losses in four main switching devices of the main converter by utilizing a less number of auxiliary resonant cells. This paper mainly describes the operational analysis and its simulation for theoretical expectations. The obtained results show the improved performance and soft-switching capability with reduced auxiliary resonant components.

This article introduces methods and limitations of using inertial measurement unit as a human-machine interface in remote control of a mobile platform. Such interface does not require both hands for safe operation and provides better mobility for the human operator. Article analyzes and mathematically describes processing of the readings obtained from the inertial measurement unit and their conversion into remote control commands. During experiments we have used operator interface containing inertial measurement unit for remote control of the 4-wheeled mobile platform with Ackermantype steering system.

The aim of this paper is to build a dynamic thermal model of power LED for simulation environment COMSOL. The dynamic thermal model was based on technical and application manufacturer's data of power light emitting diode. In this way the assembled electrical and thermal model of power LED was simulated in a dynamic process of load within COMSOL simulation program. The simulation results have been subjected to verification in the real environment. Measurements of the real LED showed good agreement with the simulation results.

The aim of this paper was to analyze the influence of narrow-band input channel on a broadcast news speech recognition system. Different acoustic conditions can be found within a typical broadcast news domain, where narrow-band channel presents one of those with possible high impact on accuracy. A method for acoustic channel detection, based on HMM models is proposed, in order to distinguish between the input channels. The advantage of this method is its low system complexity. The Slovenian BNSI Broadcast News and SNABI speech databases were used for the experimental setup. The Slovenian UMB Broadcast News automatic speech recognizer was applied as a test-bed, modified appropriately for the task. The evaluation of HMM models for channel detection showed accuracy higher than 90% for both channel types. The channel influence analysis confirmed that narrow-band input channel significantly degrades the speech recognition accuracy, decreasing it by more than 13% absolute.
