In this paper, we propose a practical framework to realize accurate, real-time and contactless heart rate measurement, which is essential for home nursing and medical assistance. This framework is composed of the Second Order Blind Identification to decompose the hidden remote photoplethysmogram signal, a series of signal analysis methods to correctly calculate heart rate and a lightweight but accurate peak detection method to draw heartbeat curve. The results are compared to a home pulse oximeter and proved to be highly consistent with it under various interaction scenes such as daily conversation. The heartbeat curve generated by the proposed framework also shows agreement with the oximeter. This framework is robust with great potential for domestic health assistance and emotional care in an ageless aging society.

1Food safety is becoming more and more serious topic worldwide. To tackle the food safety issues from the technical aspect, people need a trusted food traceability system that can track and monitor the whole lifespan of food production, including the processes of food raw material cultivation/breeding, processing, transporting, warehousing, and selling etc. In this paper, we propose a trusted, self-organized, open and ecological food traceability system based on blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, which involves all parties of a smart agriculture ecosystem, even if they may not trust each other. We use IoT devices to replace manual recording and verification as many as possible, which can reduce the human intervention to the system effectively. Furthermore, we plan to use the smart contract technology to help the law-executor to find problems and process them timely.

With the influence of extreme weather, road surface temperature (RST), which threatens the safety of people's travel, has attracted more and more attention to the government and citizens. However, traditional methods are hard to meet real-time requirements in forecasting RST. In order to improve the predictive accuracy of RST and meet the real-time requirement, this paper compares three different machine learning algorithms including, Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO), Random Forest (RF) and Gradient Boosting Regression Tree (GBRT). Using the RST data and BJ-RUC (Beijing-rapidly update cycle) data during November 2012 and June 2015, the performance of three models is evaluated. The experimental results show that GBRT performs the best and its MSE is 6.7853.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) represents more than 90% of all oral cancers. The etiology of the disease has been linked to genetics. To determine OSCC-associated genes, researchers usually test if the mean expression level of a gene among OSCC patients is different from that among non-OSCC patients. Recently, researchers found that genes having different variances between two biological states are also relevant to the disease of interest. To the best of our knowledge, no differential variability analysis has been conducted to investigate the genetic risk factors of OSCC yet. In this article, we identified genes differentially variable between the OSCC cases and controls by using the Brown-Forsythe test (BF test) based on two public available gene expression data sets (GSE30784 and GSE6791) from the Gene Expression Omnibus. By using the discovery set, we identified 2,904 DV gene probes, among which 456 DV probes were replicated by the validation set. Our results showed that differential variable genes could provide additional information about the mechanisms of OSCC.

We take 1322 articles on e-participation published in Web of Science from 2001 to 2017 as research object. Then run the information visualization software CiteSpace to drill deeper into the literature data. The study found that: E-participation through social media is gradually becoming the new research focus.

The crowd intelligence network is a fusion system comprised with physical space, information space and conscious space. All interactions among various agents can be viewed as the transaction activity or behavior in the crowd intelligence network. In this study, we analyze the transaction modes and rules from the perspective of crowd science. We review the transaction modes and rules and further develop four modes for the intelligent transactions based on the modularization level of the transaction objects and the quantity of transaction subjects, including the demand side and the supply side. We also show representative examples to further illustrate rules and features of these transaction modes.

The disability datasets is the datasets which contains the information of disabled populations. By analyzing these datasets, professionals who work with disabled populations can have a better understanding of how to make working plans and policies, so that they support the populations in a better way. In this paper, we proposed a big data management and mining approach for disability datasets. The contributions of this paper are follows: 1) our proposed approach can improve the quality of disability data by estimating miss attribute values and detecting anomaly and low-quality data instances. 2) Our proposed approach can explore useful patterns which reflect the correlation, association and interactional between the disability data attributes. Experiments are conducted at the end to evaluate the performance of our approach.

Automatic Sleep Stage Classification (ASSC) plays an important role in the diagnosis of sleep related diseases. However, due to the complexity of mathematical modelling, ASSC has many difficulties. At the same time, the rapid fluctuations between the adjacent sleep stages make it difficult to extract features, resulting in an inaccurate classification of a period of electroencephalogram (EEG) sleep. In order to solve the above problems, this paper proposes a sleep stage classification method based on convolutional neural network and long-term short-term memory network (CNN-LSTM). The method applies CNN to extract spatial features from the original data and LSTM to extract temporal features and adopt softmax to classify these features. To verify the proposed method, we tested it on a public data set called ISRUC-Sleep and compared it with several state-of-the-art methods. The experimental results show that the proposed method significantly improves the accuracy of sleep staging and achieves better results.

This paper aims to study the intelligent recommendation algorithm and Crowd-designing Clothing Industry (CDCI) model to propose a new intelligent matching algorithm called CDCI-matching algorithm and correspondingly improve the CDCI model. The algorithm draws on the principle of Page Rank and method of graph computing. Different from the original ones, we optimize the algorithm with the expansion of graph and rational set of the edge weight to match the application scenarios of the improved CDCI model. Further more, in order to illustrate the effectiveness and soundness of the model, the algorithm will be used to implement real matching process in the prototype system of novel E-commerce platform.

It is an important research topic to study the evolution of the middlemen's specialization in the e-commerce environment. The study is of great significance for the evaluation of the level and forecasting of the development of e-commerce industry. This paper presents a new definition of transaction efficiency based on the quantity of essential services and builds a middleman's specialized production decision model. By using the inframarginal analysis to solve the model, there are 4 basic patterns obtained. The results show that a middleman's specialized production decision is determined by the relationship of the transaction efficiency between factories, middlemen and consumers. If the transaction efficiency from factories to middlemen and that from middlemen to consumers remain unchanged, the increase of transaction efficiency from factories to consumers will enable middlemen to produce more types of services. When a certain threshold is reached, middlemen will turn to service providers who produce only one type of service.
