Design and Deployment of an IoT Network Based on LoRa 基于LoRa的物联网网络设计与部署

In this paper, we present a student project dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT). The objective is to design and deploy a network of connected devices using LoRa technology to monitor the 20.000 m2 of our engineering school, ENSEIRB-MATMECA. Supervising the school using connected device came to the requirements to control our energy consumption. We choose a deployment in LoRa technology (open model compared to Sigfox) in order to master the deployment of the network from the beginning to the end. Modtronix LoRa modules inAIR9 and inAIR4 operating respectively in the 868MHz and 433MHz frequency bands were used as key components. There are 3 main blocks: sensor, gateway and server. All three are fully designed in the scope of this project by a team composed of 18 students.

Pedagogic organization of part-time studies in Network and Telecommunications at the bachelor level 网络和电信学士学位兼职教学组织

This paper develops two aspects. For international colleagues, it explains the way it is possible to finance some students and academic programmes in partnership with companies in France. The second aspect deals with the pedagogic adaptations of classes of students organized around sandwich part-time studies. This organization takes account of the required competences for the students.

An e-learning tool for reflective practice and enhancing employability among engineering students 一个用于反思实践和提高工程专业学生就业能力的电子学习工具

Today e-learning is deemed a modern and efficient method of teaching and learning which has completely transformed and revolutionized the ways students and educators engage with Higher Education (HE). Many universities are now integrating or adopting different forms of e-learning components in their curricula to enhance teaching and learning and facilitate the students’ skills development process. Achieving high employability rates has been one of the major priorities for many universities as evident in the increasing use of career advice centers, counseling and supervisory guidance. Could e-learning tools be used to engage students with a skills assessment and reflective process, enhancing their career development and employability prospects? Reflective practice has been found to be vital in understanding one’s career aspirations, analyzing skills gaps and engaging with a module or programme. Not many researchers have explored how e-learning tools with reflective components can influence employability among students. This study addresses this gap by using the case study of the MSc Audio and Music Technology programme in the Department of Electronic Engineering at York (UK). This module utilizes an e-learning component in the form of a log and for the academic year 2016-2017, a total of 14 students engaged with this module monitored throughout by students’ individual supervisors and programme/module leaders. Using content analysis, the data from this sample were reviewed and this study explores the level of engagement of students with the e-learning tools. It discusses the viability of blending e-learning with taught modules in HE programmes. The findings examine the effectiveness of the e-learning log as a tool for employability enhancement and self-development and career reflection. The findings will help Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) and educators in refining and designing strategies for curricula and programmes with e-learning components fit for modern education.

This paper presents practical experience with remote delivery of ICT courses taught by Czech teachers for students at Strathmore University in Kenya. Although e-learning and remote course delivery technologies have been successfully applied to distance education many years ago, their application for ICT courses requires additional instruments as virtualized labs, on-site boot camps, etc. that help students in achieving practical skills. The paper demonstrates different teaching strategies that were implemented to deliver ICT security courses for Kenyan students in 2015-2017. The paper discusses the implementation from the perspective of the learner, mode of delivery, and expected learning outcomes.

This presentation concerns an open « learning by doing » lab project of ENSE3 with support from IdEx program of Université Grenoble Alpes. Project’s objective is to build a cross-disciplinary, open, remotely access lab, allowing a learning- by-doing education in a classical class or a distant education approach of the new numerical technologies of the « internet of energy ». The lab design wants to be beneficial to the « doing » pedagogy, intended to be used in autonomous work and team project.

Matlab Simulation of Transmission Lines with Skin Effect via Fractional Telegraph Equations and NILT 基于分数电报方程和NILT的集肤效应输电线路的Matlab仿真

The paper deals with the methods of simulation of signal propagation on transmission lines when skin effect is taken into account. Such simulations are useful when solving signal integrity issues in todays high-speed electronic circuits where interconnects play an important role. On conditions of continuing increase of the frequency of signals to be transferred, the real interconnects are modelled as transmission lines. Then, in case of sufficiently high frequency band, additional losses caused mostly by a skin effect exist. Two basic approaches can be considered for the simulation, based on either the Laplace-domain or time-domain formulations of fractional telegraph equations, and both accompanied by proper numerical techniques. The methods are intended to be utilized for both research and education, while respective Matlab language programs can be utilized for PC exercises. The educational aspects of this research are important, as signal integrity issues and related methods fit into a doctoral course Modern Electronic Circuits Design at our university.

Case Studies in IoT - Smart-Home Solutions : Pedagogical Perspective with Industrial Applications and some latest Developments 物联网案例研究-智能家居解决方案:工业应用的教学视角和一些最新发展

Creative common license (CCL) based microcontroller platforms boards with various processing capacities and handling of a plethora of I/O are available in the market at various levels of complexities and prices. These CCL based microcontroller platforms boards are increasingly used, predominantly in the academia, for sensor networking as well as handling complex IoT (Internet of Things) functions. This paper looks into a case study of incorporating Arduino and Raspberry Pi for sensor networking, data transmission and enabling IoT functionalities. As a practical realization, an experimental smart home is realized with an array of sensors and a system architecture consisting of a set of Arduino and Raspberry Pi modules. The paper presents necessary aspects of codes in the form of pseudo-codes and describes some aspects of I/O with respect to the sensors used. Finally, the security problems are also addressed. Depending on the time available, a real system will be operated during the presentation of the paper.

HOME I/O and FACTORY I/O : 2 Pieces of innovative PO simulation software for automation education HOME I/O和FACTORY I/O: 2款创新的自动化教育PO模拟软件

Since 2008, the CReSTIC of the University of Reims Champagne Ardenne (URCA), has collaborated with Real Games, a Portuguese company, within the frame of a scientific and technical partnership towards the development of innovative operative part simulation software based on the use of video game technologies (graphical and audio rendering, « game play », interactivity and attractiveness). These simulators which are a part of a type of serious games, can be connected to physical control utilities (Programmable Logic Controller, Microcontroller…) or software utilities (LabView, Matlab…) which facilitates education in automation. In this paper two new pieces of simulation software are presented, HOME I/O (the virtual house) and FACTORY I/O (the virtual factory). A survey has been conducted by users of these two softwares in 2016, together with a science of education lab (CEREP) as well as 77 bachelor’s degree, CUBGE and Engineering students from URCA. The obtained results are presented in this paper, and show the interest these digital tools have for education of Automation.

European projects – as tools for increasing academic/students mobility and learning enhancement through innovative pedagogical approaches 欧洲项目-通过创新的教学方法增加学术/学生的流动性和学习能力

Higher education is faced nowadays with great challenges related to preservation and improvement of quality in teaching, the use of new technologies and new pedagogical approaches, equal access to studies, improving staff and student mobility, and employability of graduates. Therefore, it is the aim of many existing or future projects to provide solutions to these challenges. In this paper two European projects: CARIBU (Erasmus Mundus Action 2) and IMPROPAL (Erasmus KA2-Cooperation for Innovation and Exchange of Good practices Strategic partnerships for higher Education) in which the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania was involved as partner will be presented as examples of best practice for increasing student and academic mobility exchanges and for learning enhancement through innovative pedagogical approaches.
