Background: A distinct correlation exists between the happiness of teachers and the academic accomplishments of students. Similarly, the happiness interventions for teachers in an educational institution have been shown to increase productivity by 10%–12%. However, there is currently a dearth of a comprehensive review specifically centered on teacher happiness of higher education in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Objective: This systematic review aims to comprehensively analyze and integrate existing research on the levels and determinants of teacher happiness, job satisfaction, and well-being in higher education settings in the GCC. Methods: A comprehensive search from 2013 to 2023 was conducted for quantative empirical studies in English language across four databases using the PRISMA guidelines. The Quality Assessment Tool for Studies with Diverse Designs (QATSDD) was utilized to evaluate the quality of the included studies. Results: A total of seven studies (n = 1508) were chosen for the ultimate analysis, representing a range of higher education institutions in GCC countries. According to the QATSDD tool, six studies were classified as having medium quality, while one study was classified as having high quality. The research analysis identified several recurring themes, encompassing the determinants of teacher happiness, the findings specifically related to English language teachers, higher teacher satisfaction in private universities, and the association between teacher well-being and gender. Conclusion: Given the heterogeneity of the included studies, it is impossible to draw a strong and reliable conclusion. Nevertheless, the most prevalent component in improving teacher satisfaction was found to be the compensation and support provided by supervisors and colleagues. It is important to note that the included studies were from specific countries, primarily Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Therefore, the conclusions cannot be generalized to all countries in the GCC. Received: 17 January 2024 / Accepted: 30 June 2024 / Published: 5 July 2024

The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of education and academic performance in the context of virtual university education. The research presents a quantitative approach, of basic type, with a descriptive causal correlational level, non-experimental and cross-sectional design, in a sample of 663 university students who participated in classes in the virtual modality. Likewise, exploratory and confirmatory analyses were used, where the results of the study reveal a positive relationship between monitoring and virtual skills in academic performance, with a ? value equal to 0.392 and a p-value equal to 0.005. In addition, a more substantial positive effect was found between virtual learning resources and academic performance, with a ? value equal to 0.504 and a p-value less than 0.001. In conclusion, these findings have significant implications for the design of educational policies and training programs that promote adequate support and the development of competencies in virtual environments. The learning experience can be improved by strengthening these areas and maximizing the potential of students in virtual education. This research reconsiders the designing of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) syllabus based on the current syllabus applied at the Agricultural University of Tirana (AUT). It is widely known that we live in a globalized world, where language and intercultural skills are necessary among professionals in different fields. Through a case study approach, we explore how intercultural awareness, communication, and adaptability can enhance students’ language learning experiences. The findings contribute to curriculum development and pedagogical practices, emphasizing the importance of intercultural skills in preparing students for global communication and collaboration. This research aims to understand the extent to which intercultural competence is developed during the ESP course and suggest new approaches to learning/teaching ESP. Purpose: The purpose of this article is to suggest the integration of intercultural elements into the current English for Specific Purposes syllabus at AUT. The aim is to enhance the development of intercultural competence skills among students. Methodology: The methodology involves a critical review of the existing ESP syllabus used at Agricultural University of Tirana. Findings: The analysis shows that the current syllabus provides some cultural aspects but does not develop students’ intercultural competence. The syllabus’s primary goal is to develop linguistic skills and includes very little factual knowledge regarding business culture. Suggestions: It is suggested to adapt the current syllabus and incorporate intercultural elements into each unit of the textbook. This adaption requires the inclusion of additional materials that enhance intercultural competence through various tasks such as discussion, comparisons, and assignments. Value: the integration of intercultural activities in ESP courses means a shift towards a more contemporary educational approach and preparing the students for the global market. The research works related to job satisfaction are mostly quantitative and relational, where they converge in indexes in order to associate human resources with job satisfaction, however, there are few studies that deal with the subjective and intrinsic aspect of job satisfaction, that which deals with the analysis of experiences and experiences, with their possible interpretations, in order to build development alternatives, Consequently, through the present study, we sought to explore the social phenomenon of human resources management that promote job satisfaction in the collaborators of Peruvian companies. To this end, through a qualitative approach of phenomenological-hermeneutic design, 9 human resources managers from the industrial, commercial and service sectors were interviewed. The findings of this study highlight the importance of positive environment, professional growth and recognition in the commercial sector, balance and open communication in the industrial sector, and organizational culture and autonomy in the service sector, in addition; at a general level, common barriers to work-life balance are identified, highlighting the need for flexible policies and a proactive approach to well-being. As a consequence, the adequacy of development programs and recognition policies is recommended. At the research level, studies are recommended to evaluate the effectiveness of training and development programs in Peruvian companies, exploring labor policies and their contribution to the proper balance between work and personal responsibilities, with the aim of achieving a work-life balance, promoting the improvement of human resource management in organizations. Based on an extensive review of literature pertaining to student competencies, this study addresses a critical gap by examining the determinants influencing university students' intentions to enhance their competencies. Specifically, utilizing structural equation modeling with AMOS, the research investigates the roles of attitudes, autonomy support, and perceived behavioral control among 381 postgraduates enrolled in the education department across three public universities in Nigeria. The findings underscore that positive attitudes towards extracurricular activities and the level of autonomy support received significantly bolster students' intentions to develop competencies. However, the impact of perceived behavioral control on the intention to develop competences was negative but significant. This investigation thus provides nuanced insights into the psychological dynamics that shape competence development intentions within the academic sphere, particularly among university students. This research paper investigates the dynamics of SME family-owned businesses within the Kuwaiti context and explores their impact on succession and continuity. With limited localized research in this area, this study aims to fill this gap by analyzing the influence of family dynamics, social norms, and emotional ownership on the sustainable development of family businesses in Kuwait. By employing a quantitative approach, a pilot investigation was conducted to gather data on various SME family-owned enterprises. Pilot research was conducted with 41 participants from various family-owned businesses in Kuwait to assess the validity and reliability of the measurement tools. The research findings offer a comprehensive insight into the operations and dynamics of family-owned enterprises in Kuwait. The descriptive analysis uncovered important demographic patterns among participants, indicating an equal distribution of genders and a notable presence of adults aged 21 to 35. This indicates the presence of a youthful and energetic group of employees engaged in family-owned businesses. A reliability analysis was conducted to ensure the dependability of the measuring instruments employed in the investigation. The results, as determined by Cronbach's alpha coefficients, demonstrated satisfactory reliability for most variables. The study employed a linear analysis using ANOVA to examine potential variations in family business dynamics based on gender and generation. Surprisingly, the results showed that there were no significant statistical variations between genders or generations when it came to emotional ownership, succession characteristics, and family membership. By examining the impact of family dynamics, social norms, and emotional ownership, this study contributes to the development of effective strategies for succession planning the growth and continuity of family businesses in Kuwait. This paper uncovers the effects of economic liberalization on bank fragility using the panel data of ASEAN countries. Economic liberalization is proxied by using the economic freedom index, whereas bank fragility is measured by the inverse of the z-score. Our empirical results show that economic liberalization reduces the likelihood of bank default. This effect becomes less evident when a country has a higher degree of financial development or confronts more severe uncertainty. Moreover, while financial liberalization plays a decisive role, the effect of trade liberalization is insignificant. Our findings are robust for various estimators, alternative measures of economic liberalization and bank fragility, and when taking into account the endogeneity problem. Our findings suggest several policy implications for the policymakers. Received: 30 March 2024 / Accepted: 23 June 2024 / Published: 5 July 2024

Bibliometric studies allow us to observe and interpret the behavior and progress of scientific production on a topic. Thus, this research carries out a bibliometric analysis of the research carried out on Architecture as an art. For this purpose, articles published in journals indexed in Scopus in the period from 1983 to 2023 are considered; the search is restricted to TITLE ("Architecture as art") OR TITLE ("Architecture as art"), which makes 66 items visible. The analysis is carried out using the Bibliometrix and VOSviewer software, which formally and thematically characterizes scientific production through bibliometrics. The indicators used are: annual scientific production and by country, productivity by type of institution, cited articles, magazines with the most publications on Architecture as art, analysis of keywords and relationship with the topics, and finally, the main currents or trends of investigation. The results reflect that there is a trend in research in the relationship between architecture and music throughout history, highlighting how music has inspired architects in creating sensory spaces. The importance of theory and communication in architectural design is highlighted and the evolution of architecture as an art is explored. In the wake of the coronavirus epidemic, the global foreign trade economy has experienced a significant downturn, with the mode of cross-regional cooperation facing unprecedented challenges. This backdrop underscores the importance of analyzing the cooperation mode between Central and Eastern European countries (CEE) and China in the post-COVID-19 era. This paper explores the trade relations between CEE countries and China from 2008 to 2021 through a quantitative analysis of trade exchanges and competition, evaluating the competitiveness and resource complementarity of these regions. Utilizing the trade gravity model, the study conducts an optimization regression analysis of various trade factors, incorporating economic scale, population demographics, and European Union membership status as key variables. This rigorous approach allows for an in-depth examination of trade complementarity and combination indices, aiming to uncover the latent trade potential between CEE and China. The findings reveal a substantial potential for enhancing trade exchanges and expanding the trade space between the two regions. By further optimizing the trade structure and understanding the diverse national conditions of CEE countries, the study suggests that significant improvements can be made in economic and trade stability, as well as in standardized development. The research posits that fostering trade exchanges and cooperation not only between CEE and China but also involving Western European Union (WEU) countries, holds critical social value and economic development significance. This study's implications extend beyond mere trade optimization, suggesting a roadmap for bolstering economic resilience and fostering a more interconnected and mutually beneficial global trade environment in the post-pandemic world.
