This study aims to evaluate the results of the psychoeducational group counseling program which is prepared to increase the students' attachment to school. With this purpose in mind, the study tries to seek an answer to the question: “Is the psychoeducational group counseling program prepared to increase the 4th-grade primary school students’ school attachment effective in increasing their school attachment?” The sample of the study consisted of 10 students in a primary school in Şahinbey town of Gaziantep city in the 2018-2019 school year. The results show that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of the students who attended the school attachment scale. Based on these results, it can be said that the psychoeducational program, which was established to increase the student's school attachment, has a significant effect on increasing the school attachment levels of the students in the experimental group. Keywords: primary school; psychoeducational; school attachment; students.

This study was conducted to explain the relationship between motivation and psychological resilience of preschool children. The study group consists of a total of 202 children, 107 girls and 77 boys, aged 36-72 months, attending various pre-school education institutions in the capital city of Turkey. In this study, which was designed in a relational screening model, the Motivation Scale for Preschool Children was used to determine the motivation levels of children, and the Social-Emotional Well-Being and Resilience Scale for Preschool Children were used to define their psychological resilience. Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis were used in the evaluation of the obtained data. As a result of the research, it was found that there was a moderate and high-level positive relationship between the motivation levels of children and their psychological resilience. Additionally, in multiple regression analyses based on the resilience of children's motivation levels, it was found that motivation subscales predicted resilience at medium and high levels. In the light of this result, it has been suggested to develop scales on specific issues to apply to children and prepare intervention programs that reflect the common denominators of psychological resilience and motivation since scales developed on motivation and resilience in future studies are prepared mostly based on the opinions of parents and teachers. Keywords: Preschool education, children, intrinsic motivation, psychological resilience, well-being

This study aimed to explore how Thai university students applied their prior language knowledge when translating a text from Spanish, an unknown language, into English. The research involved a group of 34 students, whose second language was English, and their third language was French. The assessment of translated texts included quantitative analyses, such as measuring translation accuracy and conducting means comparisons, as well as qualitative investigations via post-task interviews. The results revealed that students with an intermediate level of proficiency in French achieved significantly higher translation accuracy compared to beginners. Insights gleaned from post-task interviews indicated that participants recognized similarities across lexical, phonological, and structural aspects among English, French, and Spanish. These findings highlight the cognitive advantages of exposing students to multiple languages and offer guidance to curriculum developers in higher education institutions seeking to cultivate multilingual graduates. Keywords: English; French; language acquisition; language transfers; multilingualism; translation task.

The purpose of this article is to research the manifestations of clipped thinking in students when reading scientific texts in the educational process. The study involved 42 students in 2-4 courses studying in the direction of "psychological and pedagogical education" at the Taganrog Institute of A.P. Chekhov. To determine the severity of clipped thinking, we used an experimental survey methodology. Based on the material of students' work with a psychological text, the article examines the peculiarities of students' perception and understanding of certain provisions of the text, depending on the degree of severity of the indicators of clip thinking as a cognitive style, characterized by the efficiency of processing information of a significant volume, areflexia, and insufficient criticality. The study revealed that with insufficient comprehension of the text, some students tend to intuitively use the protective mechanism of avoidance, reducing the assessment of some provisions of the text. Keywords: clip thinking; cognitive style; non-critical reading; reflexive reading; text comprehension.

School readiness implies that children are prepared for school, families are prepared to help them learn, and schools are prepared for them. It depends on the development of physical, cognitive, language, and socio-emotional development. This study was intended to examine the primary school teachers’ perception of school readiness. The participants were 30 teachers of 2 primary schools (Argo and Hogoba) from one of the 8 sub cities called Tabor, Hawassa City. The sub-city was selected using a lottery method and schools were selected by systematic random sampling technique. A survey design was employed to conduct this study. The questionnaire was the main data-gathering tool used. Independent-sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and other descriptive statistics were employed to analyze data. The findings of the study reveal that primary school teachers have sufficient knowledge about school readiness programs. However, it was revealed that there is a substantial relationship between the perception, level of qualification, and age of the participants. Keywords: Perception; primary school; school readiness; teachers; transition to school.
