The aim of learning mathematics in universities is to improve students' mathematical abilities. One of the important mathematical abilities of students is understanding the concept. With an understanding of the concept, students will easily solve mathematical problems. This research is an experimental research design with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. In the design of this study, researchers used one class as the subject of research. Before being given treatment, the pretest is first performed, then given treatment within a certain period, then given a posttest. The results showed that there was an increase in students' understanding of the concept after being given the application of the expository method.

The level of ability to read the understanding of PGMI students is still lacking, as evidenced by the appearance of the scaled and scandalous, only the text book in describing it is less deft in processing it into its own language. Likewise in asking questions that are only term and understanding, explain, specify, examples are only questions that answers can be found in the paper. So that the learning outcomes did not increase significantly and the results of the UTS and UAS were only standard, even the graphs went up and down from those that climbed high to descend, because the exam questions are given in essay form so that the answers can indeed measure the ability of students in analyzing the questions of course by reading critically the questions and writing answers by describing them using their own language is not the language of the book.Keywords: Critical Reading, KWL Strategy

IPS is a science that examines the various disciplines of social sciences and humanities as well as basic human activities are packed scientifically in order to provide insight and deep understanding to the learners. Learning social studies should be presented as attractive as possible so that students can understand the assessment contained in pembelajajaran IPS with ease. Thus, it is necessary resulting IPS-based learning modules interactive multimedia for the fourth grade students of elementary school. The research method is the development of research or development research. This research included the study to develop and produce new products in a learning system that will be applied to the learners. The results of the study showed a mean value of 3.40 validation of multimedia devices valid category. The trial results obtained practicalities response result of fourth grade students during the lesson is very practical with an average of 3.67 in the category of very appropriate. Results of teachers' response to the practicalities of IPS module in a practical category with an average of 3.38. The observation of the activities of learners in one learning activity in the category of high, with an average gain of 71.15. The observation of the activity at the time of deployment (disseminate) showed that the activity of students in the high category with the acquisition of 68.33. Thus, we can conclude a good interactive multimedia learning modules used in learning activities.Key Words: development, IPS module, interactive multimedia
