Modeling of different tower grounding systems using hybrid continuous circuit-trapezoidal integration method 采用连续电路-梯形混合积分法对不同塔架接地系统进行建模

In order to protect the transmission lines against lightning strikes, it is important to investigate the tower grounding system. In this paper, a recent method called hybrid continuous circuit-trapezoidal integration method is used to calculate the impulse impedance of the grounding system. Moreover, conventional structures of the grounding systems have been simulated and the results show that, with the same wire length, the square with additional wire system has the least impulse impedance as compared to counterpoise, square and crow?s foot. Moreover, the effects of soil resistivity and lightning current rise-time on the impulse impedance of these grounding systems are investigated. It is concluded that the design of the grounding system depends on the geographic location of the site in terms of soil resistivity and isotropic characteristics of the area in terms of lightning current rise-time.

Filter design using data fusion for a pneumatic control valve 基于数据融合的气动控制阀滤波器设计

This paper presents a filter design technique for a pneumatic valve using data fusion techniques. The objective of this paper is to examine the suppression of the effect of parameters causing deviation from normal system performance using the technique of data fusion over time. The output of a system affected by inherited noise is processed by applying operations such as finding the statistical variance, time warping, interpolation, and extrapolation. These techniques are used to compute the transfer function of the filter, which when cascaded with the system will suppress the effect of noise on the process. The operation of the control valve is affected by characteristics such as stiction, structural deformation, etc. The characteristics of the system are studied and data for multiple time instances are extracted to carry out fusion across time by dynamic time warping. Tests show that the filter presented here can suppress the effects of stiction and mechanical deformation on the output signal.

An energy efficient hybrid MAC protocol for smart home networks 一种适用于智能家居网络的节能混合MAC协议

In this paper cluster-based hybrid MAC (CB-HMAC) protocol, based on IEEE 802.15.4 MAC is proposed for smart home networks. The CB-HMAC is specially designed for short packet transmission in a dense home network environment. Simulation results show that the proposed CB-HMAC is more energy-efficient than other medium access control (MAC) protocols without sacrificing much delay and throughput.

Analysis of watermarking techniques in multimedia communications 多媒体通信中的水印技术分析

Multimedia information is critical of examining, information perceived and which are illustrated by the human cerebrum. In our brain, 33% of the cortical area concentrates only on visual information processing. Digital watermarking technology is being received to guarantee and encourage such kinds of digital data authentication, security, and copyright. These algorithms permit the expandable values of different techniques to prevent the problems of copyright issues during the transmission. This paper discusses the detailed about the point by point investigation of watermarking definition and different watermarking applications and strategies used to improve information security.

A rhomboid-shaped printed monopole antenna for wideband circular polarization 用于宽带圆极化的菱形印刷单极天线

This paper presents the design of a wideband circularly-polarized printed monopole antenna with a rhomboid shape. The rhomboid-shaped patch is fed by a microstrip line offset from the center to generate circular polarization (CP). The ground plane configuration is optimized for wide bandwidth operation. Bandwidth (satisfying both 10-dB return loss and 3-dB axial ratio) of 76% (1.92 - 4.27 GHz) is achieved in this research. The size of the proposed antenna is 0.386 2 0 l (55?66 mm2) where ?0 is the free space wavelength which corresponds to the center frequency of the bandwidth. The antenna has a fractional bandwidth-size ratio (BW/size) of 1.97 which is higher than most CP monopole antennas in the literature. This antenna is suitable for Wi-Fi, WiMAX, and other wireless applications which outperform using circular polarization.

Experimental indoor validation of weak intensity fluctuations over free-space optical communication link 自由空间光通信链路弱强度波动的室内实验验证

In this paper, we present experimental results for characterizing turbulence phenomena in free-space optical (FSO) communication under laboratory controlled conditions. Collected data is used for statistical determination of the probability density function (PDF) of irradiance signal fluctuations. In literature, there are a number of empirical models for variety of turbulence regimes. Thus, obtained PDF is compared with selected models from the bibliography in order to describe properly statistical properties of real turbulent channel and help improving of FSO system performance calculation. In overall, analysis has shown that the results obtained under given constraints fit well with the exponentiated Weibull turbulence model.

Electricity consumption forecast for Tarkwa using autoregressive integrated moving average and adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system 基于自回归综合移动平均和自适应神经模糊推理系统的塔克瓦电力消费预测

Electricity has become one of the inelastic goods in our world today. The proper functioning of most equipment today relies on electricity. Taking Tarkwa which is a mining community into consideration, the various mines, schools, shops, banks and other companies in the municipality massively rely on electricity for their day to day running. Therefore, knowing the exact amount of electricity to produce and distribute for the smooth running of businesses and basic living is of great necessity. This study compared and formulated a model to forecast and predict the daily electrical energy consumption in Tarkwa for the year 2019. The data used was a monthly dataset for the year 2018 and it comprised of the temperature, wind speed, population and electricity consumption for Tarkwa. The methods used were Artificial Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA). The ANFIS was used as a predictor to predict the electricity consumption based on the training and testing of the dependent and independent variables. The ARIMA was used to forecast the dependent and independent variables for 2019. These simulations were done using MATLAB and Minitab. The results of the analysis revealed that the training and testing dataset allowed ANFIS to learn and understand the system but the ANFIS could only forecast the 2019 electricity consumption after the input data to the system was changed to the ARIMA forecasted 2019 independent variables. It was observed that the amount of electricity consumed in 2019 increased by 14%.

Therefore, knowing the exact amount of electricity to produce and distribute for the smooth running of businesses and basic living is of great necessity. This study compared and formulated a model to forecast and predict the daily electrical energy consumption in Tarkwa for the year 2019. The data used was a monthly dataset for the year 2018 and it comprised of the temperature, wind speed, population and electricity consumption for Tarkwa. The methods used were Artificial Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA). The ANFIS was used as a predictor to predict the electricity consumption based on the training and testing of the dependent and independent variables. The ARIMA was used to forecast the dependent and independent variables for 2019. These simulations were done using MATLAB and Minitab. The results of the analysis revealed that the training and testing dataset allowed ANFIS to learn and understand the system but the ANFIS could only forecast the 2019 electricity consumption after the input data to the system was changed to the ARIMA forecasted 2019 independent variables. Modelling and optimising a new hybrid ad-hoc network cooperation strategy performance using genetic algorithm 基于遗传算法的混合自组网合作策略性能建模与优化

The lifetime of an ad-hoc network depends on a mobile device?s limited battery capacity. In ad-hoc multi-hop communication, source nodes use intermediate nodes as a relay to communicate with remote destinations. As cooperation between nodes is restrained by their battery resources, it might not be in their best interests to always accept relay requests. Therefore, if all nodes decide how much energy to spend for relaying, selfish or non-cooperative nodes reduce cooperation by rejecting to forward packets to others, thereby leading to a dramatic drop in the network?s throughput. Three strategies have been founded to solve this problem: tit-for-tat, live-and-let-live, and selective drop. This research explored a new strategy in ad-hoc cooperation which resulted from the combination of the live-and-let-live and selective drop strategies. This new strategy is based on the suggestion to select fewer hops with a low drop percentage and sufficient power to stay alive after forwarding the data packets towards the destination or other relays at the route path. We used a genetic algorithm (GA) to optimise the cooperative problem. Moreover, the fitness equation of the GA population was designed according to the mixing of the two strategies, which resulted in a new optimized hybrid dynamic-static cooperation.

Effect of adaptive line enhancement filters on noise cancellation in ECG signals 自适应线增强滤波器对心电信号噪声消除的影响

Power line interference is the main noise source that contaminates Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals and measurements. In recent years, adaptive filters with different approaches have been investigated to eliminate power line interference in ECG waveforms. Adaptive line enhancement filter is a special type of adaptive filter that, unlike other adaptive filters, does not require a reference signal and has potential application in ECG signal filtering. In this paper, a selflearning filter based on an adaptive line enhancement (ALE) filter is proposed to remove power line interference in ECG signals. We simulate the adaptive filter in MATLwith a noisy ECG signal and analyze the performance of algorithms in terms of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) improvement. The proposed algorithm is validated with Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) ECG signals database. Additive white gaussian noise is added to the raw ECG signal. Influential parameters on the ALE filter performance such as filter delay, the convergence factor, and the filter length are analyzed and discussed.
