In our paper we would like to introduce a three-dimensional virtual library model based on the system and presumable content of the ancient Library of Alexandria. We use the classification system elaborated by the famous librarian, poet and scholar Callimachus focusing primarily on the field of Greek poetry and drama in the 3rd century BC. Accordingly, we select those ancient and well-known authors on that field whose texts, completed with short biographical data, may be a good starting point for the content of the virtual library which we would like to gradually develop to be a knowledge base of literary content. Currently we are using the English translations of the selected ancient Greek texts with the intention to gradually improve the content of the library with other texts and multimedia materials (other translations, paintings, commentaries, related texts from the ancient and modern culture etc.) which would serve as background knowledge for the interpretation of the texts. We present a web-based search and presentation interface created for our three dimensional virtual library model which provides both a 3D and a spatial 2D hypertext representation of the search results. We describe a scale-free network model, the so-called Alexandrian model of network, which the organization and future development of the represented library content is based on. Finally, we discuss the main purpose and possible applications of our virtual library model.

In public transport the passenger information system plays a very important role, which provides the connection between the two participants: the service provider (bus company) and the passengers. The service provider would like to state the structure of the network, the timetable, and the passenger would like information about the same data. If this communication is not correct this causes a lower service level. This may be important when we create a simulation model.

The aim of this paper is to present a web-based evaluation system developed as part of a research has been carried out in cooperation with University of Debrecen and University of Miskolc in the framework of the project TÁMOP-4.2.2.C-11/1/KONV (Social Renewal Operational Programme) called `Basic and Applied Research for Internet-based Speech Development of Deaf and Hard of Hearing People and for Objective Measurement of Their Progress'. The project is aimed at solving basic and applied research tasks to develop an application to support the speech teaching and understanding of deaf and hearing-impaired people more effectively than known methods. The idea of the project has come from an audio-visual transcoder for sound visualization developed at the University of Debrecen, and a three-dimensional head model for articulation presentation, called `talking head' developed at the University of Miskolc. The most important aim of the project is to create a complex system to provide audio-visual speech recognition by visualization of images of speech and articulation, setting up an educational framework. In addition, the system has many other features (prosody display, automatic evaluation and knowledge-based systems implementation), which subsequently allow individual practice not only on computers but also on mobile devices. However, it is important to note that personal contribution of surdo-pedagogues can not be replaced, but can greatly support. The module performing the required audio-visual transcoding is language-independent, the talking head, moreover automatic qualification can be made language-independent by training new neural networks. For development of automatic qualification, the recorded speech samples has been required to be evaluated by surdo-pedagogues and lay students. The online evaluation system developed for this purpose is shown in this paper.

Nowadays it is becoming common for more and more people to work remotely in an online virtual space. Even the virtual presence of the partner means a difference in quality when engaged in a cooperative task. The purpose of this paper is to analyze social interactions in a virtual workspace. Earlier researches about the psychological features of online, remote, and virtual collaborations are also summarized. The research task replicates the process of creating an interesting holiday plan for tourists visiting Budapest. In the virtual tourist office, there are posters and a map available for the participants to create a feasible schedule for two days. The research was conducted in the VirCA (3D Virtual Collaboration Area), and includes a total of 12 analyses of dialogs recorded during the task. In completion of that, the participants' prior experiences and subjective impressions of the experiment are also measured. The efficiency of task output as a quality measure was compared with the dialogs' content analysis. The task completion time showed a strong positive correlation with the utterance category of coordination and also showed a strong but negative correlation with utterances of information sharing. The assertiveness had no connection with the efficiency index number, which was calculated by us. Results may provide a solid basis to gain better insight into the question of designing and planning task- and goal-specific communication. Conclusions may also bring guidance on how to use the virtual space more efficiently, making it more productive to collaborate.

Reaction time for two types of semantically related gesture and sentence pairs

The aim of this study was to investigate in an EEG experiment the reaction time of the participants deciding on the semantic congruency of sentences with subsequent pictures of symbolic or iconic hand gestures. More specifically, we investigated the reaction time employed by the participants to determine the semantic congruence of sentences and gesture pictures which are semantically related in different ways. In one case the gesture conveys the same content as the sentence, in the second case it provides additional content to the sentence. The hypothesis that we wanted to test was that the reaction time would be shorter in the latter case than in the former since preceding corpus-based studies have indicated that speech and gestures conveying the same information are more temporally synchronous than speech and gestures which convey complementary information. Therefore, we expect that it will be harder to process semantic congruency for gestures which usually are synchronous to speech if they follow the sentences they are related to than in the case where gestures provide additional information. Our study confirms the hypothesis showing that not only was the participants reaction time shorter in the case of gestures which provided additional information to sentences, but also that the accuracy in the semantic congruency task was higher.

The study investigates the gender disparity in video face replacement perception. This is inspired by the prevalent face replacement techniques being utilised in the film making industry as well as the existence of gender disparity in various aspects of human life. A user study was conducted which contained quality rating task of face replacement videos. Results show that there is a significant difference in face replacement perception for females compared to males, with females demonstrating different patterns in viewing face replacement videos to males. These results have implication for face replacement in advertising, the film industry, and for extremely high compression rate video conferencing.

Our research focuses on collecting high quality EEG signals without conductive gel and wires. During the demonstration we will show that the subject can take a normal looking cap, and then a tablet displays the EEG signals.

Cognitive sciences are widespread all across the sciences although transportation sciences did not discover it fully. The paper will give an overview on the possible usage and future of cognitive infocommunication in transportation. The scale is very wide due to the fact that transport is a collector or multidisciplinary science. It needs some technical knowledge some operational research some economy, issues from social sciences, statistical methods and the queue is long enough. In this paper I can highlight only few of the several aspects. It is more a paper to let start thinking on the more consciously usage of cognitive sciences in transport sciences.
