Engineering for development and application of products recently applies highly integrated modeling and simulation in comprehensive product lifecycle management (PLM) systems. At the same time, role of the product model is being changed from information description to medium for the communication between engineers. This new role requires a product model that includes background of decisions on information of engineering objects enough for the purpose of above communication. The authors would like to contribute to the improvements necessary to enhance the above communication by an information content based solution for modeling of the background of engineering decisions on engineering objects. In this paper, they introduce influencing effects on engineering objects and explain their concept and method for indirect communication through product model. Following this, they discuss essential structure of the proposed virtual engineering space that is an extension of the currently applied model space. Finally, possibilities for the implementation of the proposed modeling in current PLM systems and research for the next future are outlined.

The obtaining of change of dynamic behavior for an electrohydraulic servo system due to leakage at cylinder piston seal is the main contribution of the paper. The servo system consist a double ended symmetrical, double-acting hydraulic cylinder with servo valve, a hydraulic power supply with pump, accumulator and relief valve. An advanced nonlinear more realistic mathematical model was created and step response analysis is used to examine the dynamic behavior of the electrohydraulic servo system when internal cylinder's leakage resistance decreasing. Simulations are reported to show the dynamic behavior of the system to assessing the leakage effect.

In the field of eTourism, it is important to present prominent objects of tourists destinations. Nowadays demand for eTourism applications is rising and the customers need rapid software development. Google Maps API is a technology provided by Google based on AJAX, which powers many map-based services. This paper presents an expert system for tourists. The realized software uses free, public API service from Google Maps. The system utilizes a knowledge base formed by tracking user actions. The expert module suggests information of special interest to the user.

The task of solving the adaptive control of a partially and imprecisely modeled electrical vehicle driven by three omnidirectional wheels together with the torque and/or power limits of their electric driving motors is considered. The vehicle is very roughly modeled as a rigid body while the a part of the burden carried by it through elastic connection is completely neglected in the controller's model. Instead parameter estimation techniques a simple, kinematically designed, PID– type trajectory tracking is formulated that is implemented via robust fixed point transformations. It is shown that if the nominal trajectory does not significantly excite the vehicle– burden connection precise and stable control can be achieved by the adaptivity, while the pure PID–type control may considerably excite this degree of freedom and can be corrupted by achieving either the torque or the power limits of the motors. The motors are supposed to be voltage controlled asynchronous drives with constant frequency excitation. Our statement is substantiated by numerical simulations. The main advantage of the proposed control is that it operates with local basin of attraction developed for convergent iterative Cauchy sequences that is easy to design by setting only a few parameters. Its disadvantage is that it cannot guarantee global stability therefore its application must be preceded by numerical tests. Its use may be especially useful in applications in industrial workshops when modeling the dynamics of the coupled subsystem technically is very difficult, e.g. when it is a tank partially containing heavy liquid.

The classical scheme of DC motor control developed by Ward Leonard, employs for this purpose a rotating DC generator, the armature voltage of which is controlled through the field. The DC generator is driven by an AC motor and running at approximately constant speed. The disadvantages of this type are in the number of full-size machines in the chain, which raises the cost and lowers the overall efficiency. Combined with up-to-date control, drives of this type are still in use today. This paper presents a study of the model of the thyristor controlled rectifiers for control of Ward – Leonard system. The control structure consist outer speed regulation loops operating through a faster two current regulation inner loop. One for the motor armature current and two for DC generator field current. This paper also describes the mathematical models of the generator, motor, mechanical load, rectifiers, speed regulator, current regulator and completed control system implemented in SIMULINK. At the end, simulation results are included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controlled method.

The task of programming concurrent systems is substantially more difficult than the task of programming sequential systems with respect to both correctness and efficiency. The tendency in development of embedded, DSP systems and processors are shifting to multi core and multiprocessor setups as well. The problem of easy concurrency and algorithm development is an important for embedded and DSP systems as well. The goal of this paper is to define and present a high level language that allows description and development of signal processing algorithms. With the usage of a domain specific language, we can create compact and easy to understand definition of algorithms. In the paper the authors present the advantages granted by DSL for DSP applications. The created definitions are hardware independent can be executed and functionally verified. Efficient code can be generated for various targets without porting. The design of the presented DSL allows code generation for multi-core targets in case of computing-intensive algorithms, code generation for multiple streams, threads. Code reuse is supported by merging, re-grouping, and splitting of algorithms and groups of algorithms.

According to Aebli's operative method (1963) and Bruner's (1974) theory of representation the development of the process of thinking in teaching has the following phases - levels of abstraction: manipulation with specific things (specific phase), iconic representation (figural phase), symbolic representation (symbolic phase). Modern information technology has contributed to the enrichment of teaching and learning processes, especially in the fields of natural sciences and mathematics and those of production and technology. Simulation appears as a new possibility in the representation of knowledge. According to Guetzkow (1972) simulation is an operative representation of reality from a relevant aspect. It is about a model of an objective system, which is dynamic in itself. If that model is material it is a simple simulation, if it is abstract it is a reflective experiment, that is a computer simulation. This present work deals with the systematization and classification of simulation methods in the teaching of natural sciences and mathematics and of production and technology with special retrospective view on computer simulations and exemplar representation of the place and the role of this modern method of cognition.

Distance learning is an educational process which assumes that a student — user and a teacher — instructor are physically separated while the technology enables their communication and overcoming time and space obstacles. Like other types of educational processes distance learning also has its advantages and disadvantages. One of the most significant tasks of regularly created distance learning contents is overcoming disadvantages and problems which the users and instructors are faced with during the learning process. Some foreign experiences indicate the following disadvantages that the users usually face with: competence for system usage, regional differences, harmonizing teaching programs of different subjects, technical problems, communication problems, etc.
