Estimation of effect size in measurement invariance This paper presents a MS Excel® program for estimating effect size (ES) in the measurement invariance of different item parameters, such as the factor loadings, intercepts/thresholds and residuals, based in well-known standardized statistics. Examples with real data are provided for the functioning of the program and the interpretation of the ES measures.

Bender Test: Screening Version for Evaluation of Perceptive-Motor Maturity This study sought evidence of content and criteria validity for the screening version of the Bender – Gradual Scoring System. For this, 693 children of both sexes, between 6 and 10 years of age (M=8.42; SD=1.38), reproduced three figures. The results indicated that Figure 3 had a greater level of difficulty, with a greater level of perceptive-motor maturity required for its execution. Figures 7a and 7b, although overlapping, were easier to reproduce. It was found that the errors of distortions in the reproduction of figures tended to gradually decrease as the child’s age increased. Another point observed was that the three figures did not present differential functioning for the items between girls and boys, nor were any mean performance differences found. These findings suggest that the screening version is a promising proposition for use in the evaluation of perceptive-motor maturity.

Psychometric Properties of Perceived Work and Family Demand Scale The demands of work and family are related to the perception of the responsibilities of individuals with their work and family. This study aimed to obtain initial evidence of validity for the Perceived Demands of Work and Family Scale. The sample consisted of 507 workers, of both sexes (female=56.8%), with ages varying from 16 to 66 years (M=34.26, SD=10.02). Confirmatory factor analyses revealed that the correlated two-factor model presented the best fit indexes; and multi-group confirmatory factor analyses indicated that the parameters of the items were invariant among the different groups analyzed. The work demands correlated positively with work overload, and family demands negatively with the ambiguity of roles in the family. The psychometric properties of the scale suggest its future use in Brazilian investigations aimed at evaluating the demands of work and family.

Career Adaptability and Occupational Self-Efficacy: Relationships with Career Variables This study aimed to verify the relationship of career adaptability and occupational self-efficacy with variables that characterize the worker's career. The sample consisted of 351 workers aged between 18 and 65 years (M=33.48; SD=9.81), with 220 (62.7%) female participants. Three instruments were answered online, a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) Brazil and the Occupational Self-Efficacy Scale Reduced Version. The results showed that individuals with higher self-efficacy beliefs demonstrate higher levels in all CAAS dimensions. The Control dimension and self-efficacy were shown to be predictors of levels of satisfaction with the current occupation and monthly income, in addition to the range of income the worker has. According to the literature of the area, the hypotheses were partially corroborated.
