: The aim of the research was to determine the level of intercultural sensitivity, which in the research concept adopted, is the most important dimension of intercultural communication competence. It refers to the emotional desire of an individual that the contact will be a confirmation, appreciation and acceptance of cultural differences. The research was carried out using the method of a diagnostic survey with a questionnaire technique and a research tool in the form of the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale of G. M. Chena and W. J. Starosta. The research covered 154 Poles on labour emigration in the Southwest of England. The research tool was distributed by applying the snowball sampling method, using for this purpose, inter alia, modern means of communication. The analysis of the obtained results showed that the surveyed Poles present a good average level of intercultural sensitivity, in which female respondents, re-spondents from the youngest age group and with the shortest emigration expe-rience have the largest share, obtaining high results in most of the dimensions analysed. The lowest results were recorded in the case of the oldest age group and with the longest emigration experience.
本研究的目的是确定跨文化敏感性的水平,这在所采用的研究概念中是跨文化交际能力最重要的维度。它是指个体的情感愿望,这种接触将是对文化差异的确认、欣赏和接受。本研究采用诊断性调查的方法,采用问卷调查法和G. M. Chena和W. J. Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental disorder that is characterized by impaired social interactions, impaired verbal and nonverbal communication and stereotyped, repetitive behaviors. In the last decade there has been an increased media attention to autism both globally and across GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council countries), which in turn has increased the knowledge and awareness of the condition in the Arabian Gulf region among both parents and professionals. Traditional beliefs, however, leave important influences on health behaviors, which leads to implications on health communication area. Religion, spirituality and culture play a large role, especially when considering the diagnosis of mental health disorders. This paper addresses the issue of immaterial boundaries constructed by culturally bound child-upbringing practices with special attention to how these practices and beliefs create attitudes towards disabilities such as autism.

In the paper, the perspective is presented of Ukrainians living in the Czech Republic on the selected aspects of local life. The research goal is to find out how the Ukrainians perceive life in the Czech Republic, Czech culture and education and what they see as differences and similarities of both cultures and ways of education. It is pointed out that the research includes the subjective experience, attitudes and opinions of individual respondents. Therefore, it does not represent the entire Ukrainian national minority living in the Czech Republic. The research sample consisted of two groups of respondents who had the following composition: the first group included eight respondents who were Ukrainians with permanent residence in the Czech Republic, living in the Czech Republic for more than ten years; in the second group, seven Ukrainian learners were interviewed, who were educated in schools in the Czech Republic, and their parents. In the research, a qualitative design was chosen, namely the method of semi-structured interview with respondents. The analysis of the obtained data was performed by open and then axial and selective coding.
