stereotypes Abstract: The article discusses the preliminary conclusions of the ethnographic research, carried out in Wrocław at the turn of June and July 2019, regarding the perception of Wrocław Jews by young city residents. The research was aimed at verifying the state of knowledge about the history of Jews in Wrocław, their contemporary social, cultural and religious activities as well as the Jewish culture itself. An important aspect was to check how this community functions in the minds of young city residents, what is the impact of stereotypes on its perception, and what are the sources of knowledge about it. It was also important to determine which places in space are identified as Jewish and to find out if young residents of Wrocław participate in events organized by the Jewish community, how they evaluate them and whether they consider them

Technology as a platform for intercultural communication exemplified by the migration from Africa and the Middle East 技术作为跨文化交流的平台,来自非洲和中东的移民就是例证

The text concerns the possibilities of intercultural communication offered by modern digital media. It analyses the possibilities of its development on the example of the problem of mass migration to Europe. It concerns countries that are often much less economically developed than European or American countries. However, as the data on the development of technology in these countries show or its use shows (e.g. in mass social movements from the turn of the first and second decades of the 21st century), the citizens of these countries are not “digital illiterates”. The same applies to migrants coming from these countries. That is why digital media, and especially tools such as smartphones, can be used in intercultural dialogue and to help migrants at various stages of their migration journey. This applies especially to the stage of decision making, migration to a selected country or adaptation in the destination country. A number of such aids were created (primarily smartphone applications), which, however, do not apply equally to all three stages of a migrant’s life.

The Czech Republic lies in the middle of Europe. This has resulted in contact with a number of neighboring countries and Czech teachers had to teach not only Czech children. In the field of intercultural education, two personalities excelled in the Czech Republic: Přemysl Pitter (1895–1976) and Miroslav Dědič (1925). Přemysl Pitter focused on Czech, Jewish and German children, Miroslav Dědič on Czech, German, Slovak and especially Romany children. In our text we present research of Czech students’ opinions on both personalities and the content and meaning of their intercultural education.

: Identity, as self-definition, self-determination, is the primary experience of a human being and the foundation for the quality life creation. Change and consolidation of identity among people in their late adulthood, who reside in both the Polish and Czech parts of Cieszyn Silesia, have been seen in different areas: at the border of two countries, among nationalities, societies, cultures, etc. They are created by mutual influence, relations, bonds, meanings, identifications, material aspects, and infrastructure. The conditions influence an individual and make them choose, adopt active actions that create their lives. The following study is to present the results of research conducted in Cieszyn and Czech Cieszyn. The aim of the research is to recognize the types of identities among people in their late adulthood who reside in both the Polish and Czech parts of Cieszyn Silesia. The results of research conducted indicated that among people in their late adulthood who reside in the Polish and Czech parts of Cieszyn Silesia different types of identities can be noticed: one-dimensional, two-dimensional, multidimensional (enriched).
