STRATEGIES FOR CORPORATE VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS 企业志愿者项目的策略

The objective of this research is to study the strategies to implement Corporate Volunteer programs effectively based on the motivations that guide employees to participate in this type of programs. The lack of knowledge about the most effective policies and strategies may be behind the low participation quotas that companies have in their Corporate Volunteering Programs. We carried out a qualitative empirical study in Spain to define a model that incorporates these policies and strategic axes, starting from the motivations and determinants of employee participation in Corporate Volunteer programs.

The increase of the organizational commitment of employees as a way to increase their performance and reduce their absentisim and the rotation index has become a key aspect for companies. In this article we propose a novel perspective, consisting of the consideration of aspects associated with the personality of employees. We depart from the five-factor model of personality (FFM) and identify the influence on employees’ continuance commitment.  We follow a quantitative methodology, by considering a sample of 144 employees from three companies, and we explore how personality traits influence the intention of the employees to continue in the company. Among the main practical implications of this investigation, we highlight the empirical verification of the importance attached to employee’s personality in order to understand its degree of organizational commitment with the organization.

The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between Organizational Commitment and Life Satisfaction, as well as to determine if employee engagement act as a facilitator. It was proposed that affective and normative dimensions of commitment would be significantly related to life satisfaction through the mediation of engagement. To test this preposition data were collected from a sample of 305 Spanish employees; data were analyzed with structural equation modeling (SEM) techniques, finding that the affective dimension of commitment is the most associated with life satisfaction. This relationship is mediated by employee engagement, specifically by the vigor or energy experienced at work.

Medioambiente e innovación en la empresa española: Reduciendo distancias entre los academicos y la empresa 西班牙商业环境与创新:缩小学术和商业之间的差距

Recent decades have witnessed an increase in the number of eco-innovative solutions which improve the environmental performance of firms whilst also helping them remain competitive. However, the implementation of eco-innovation in Spain has faced certain difficulties, and the number of eco-innovations being put into practice is limited. This paper conceptualises eco-innovation processes, in order to assist their adoption by firms. Also, the most relevant obstacles and incentives to eco-innovation are analysed, as well as the specific capacities and changes that eco-innovation involves for the firm.

This paper aims to analyze how ownership influences the performance of European football teams. The study of efficiency allows us to identify relative performance in the achievement of several objectives, as is the case of football teams pursuing both financial performance and sports success. The analysis shows that football teams organized as members clubs, with dispersed ownership and uncontrolled by foreign investors perform better. Thus, property structures facilitating less control over managers relate positively to performance.

¿Cómo mejorar la expansión interregional de las multinacionales? El caso de las filiales trampolín para Latinoamérica 如何改善跨国公司的区域间扩张?以拉丁美洲子公司为例

This article analyses a model of interregional expansion by using springboard subsidiaries. Being located in Spain, these units can facilitate the expansion of multinational companies in Latin America by providing part of the experiential knowledge required to succeed in the region, yet avoiding the initial requirement for investment. Based upon the expansion strategy of five European multinational firms, we develop an inductive model in which headquarters functions –coordination and knowledge creation processes - are distributed between the parent company and the springboard subsidiary along an accumulative process of capabilities. This model reflects the type and degree of commitment of both actors in each stage: whereas in the initial phase the springboard subsidiary and the headquarters act as substitutes, they execute complementary functions with the development of the local network in the target region. By demonstrating how a springboard subsidiary can help to align control to context, the model offers a tool for strategic analysis that helps avoid potential value destruction by parent companies.

The reason most frequently adduced by SMEs to avoid the implementation of CSR programs is their shortage of material resources. In this paper we propose the possibility that biotech SMEs supply the RSC with something they've got in abundance, that is, knowledge. Popular science thus becomes the focus of these programs, an affordable resource that can benefit them, and not only in reputation. Our study focuses on 32 SMEs settled in four Technology Parks in Andalusia.

This paper analyzes the usefulness of auditing in processes of credit granting to SMEs. A survey of 471 risk analysts in Spain shows that the fact that financial statements are audited increases perceived quality of accounting information, reduces perceived risk in operations, increases trust in companies and has a positive impact both on the probability that SMEs will have better access to credit and on obtaining better financing conditions.

Related-Party-Transactions in the spanish stock market 西班牙股票市场的关联方交易

espanolA pesar de la relevancia que con el paso de los anos han ido adquiriendo las operaciones entre partes vinculadas (OVs) en los mercados de capitales, no existe ningun estudio previo que analice la presencia de este tipo de transacciones en la bolsa espanola. De esta manera, en el presente trabajo estudiamos las OVs en mercado continuo espanol a lo largo del periodo 2004-2014. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto una presencia importante de OVs, estando presentes este tipo de operaciones, algunos anos, en mas la mitad de las empresas cotizadas. Asimismo, tambien se aprecia que en las empresas de mayor dimension, las mas concentradas, las controladas por familias y aquellas que forman parte de un grupo piramidal, existe una mayor implicacion en la realizacion de OVs. EnglishDespite the relevance of related-party transactions (RPTs) in the Spanish capital market, empirical evidence on RPTs is anecdotal. This article seeks to analyze the change in direction of NH Hotel Group, which, as a consequence of the transformations in its strategic environment and the economic crisis, found it needed to face the future by implementing a strategic plan and restructuring its business portfolio. The document sets out the phases it followed in the implementation of the plan and shows the positive evolution it has experienced, analyzing the company’s historical evolution through a study of secondary sources. We conclude that the NH Hotel Group case supports the affirmation that the definition and execution of an appropriate strategic plan helps improve company results, with flexibility being equally important in the implementation in order to adapt to possible changes in the environment.
