Teach at the University. New challenges from the perception of teachers 在大学教书。来自教师观念的新挑战

The present article reflects the perception of assorted educators about the paramount challenges facing Higher Education in Mexico. It was situated as a non-experimental, descriptive-transversal investigation with a qualitative method, in which through the method of Content Analysis and the application of Brainstorming and Focus Group tools, the criteria of 150 teachers imparting distinct higher education programs belonging to different thematic centers of a University in central Mexico are analyzed and classified. As a result of the voice and perceptions of the participating teachers, a list of the most significant challenges facing Higher Education in Mexico is achieved, directly linked to the flexibility and updating of educational programs, the link between universities and the labor market and the imminent training of teachers.

This article presents some technical aspects that should be considered about the virtual museums that with the appearance of Information and Communication Technologies, especially the internet and augmented reality, can present an innovative and creative potential to enable the achievement of skills in students and knowledge of Peruvian cultural heritage, in addition to offering a didactic proposal for teachers based on virtual tours.

Teaching Physics in higher education: use of information and communication technologies and digital resources 高等教育中的物理教学:信息通信技术和数字资源的使用

This paper presents a methodology for the implementation of the Physics course in the distance modality through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and digital educational resources for industrial engineering careers within the Institute Technological of San Luis Potosí (ITSLP). The course was implemented using the Moodle platform, the teacher made the programming of the proposed exercises and activities, such as readings, simulators, calculators and evaluations, and the Webex platform was used as a support tool to develop synchronous sessions of class. As a sample, 4 groups from the Xilitla, Ahualulco, El Naranjo and Moctezuma campuses were considered. The intention was to verify if the applied method is effective and meets the objectives of learning the subject, in addition to providing students with the necessary tools to achieve basic skills for their professional development. It is concluded that, by applying the methodology appropriately, with carefully selected digital resources and the support of synchronous sessions between the teacher and the students, the learning objectives and the generation of significant knowledge were achieved.

MOOC on Artificial Intelligence in Education: an experience on Miriadax platform 教育中的人工智能MOOC: Miriadax平台的体验

This article presents findings on participants of a massive open online course named “Artificial Intelligence in Education” in two different editions. The paper provides students’ demographics and results of the following modules, comparing the editions’ academic performance. The design of the MOOC is presented, and the characteristics of the platform are discussed. A similar performance in two editions was found.

As a result of Covid-19 at the beginning of the year 2020 the need to migrate teaching from face-to-face model to an online has brought as consequence the lack of skills in students from the University of Guadalajara to perform in an online educational environment. For this purpose, first we point out the differences between virtual, online, and distance education in order to establish the type of educational model that is operating in the current circumstances. Subsequently we identify and define those skills which are basic to carry out the teaching-learning process virtually and online. The selected skills were time management, responsibility, digital skills, and self-management. The methodology used in this research was a combination of the qualitative and quantitative approach. A survey of 21 items was apply to 197 students in calendar 2020 B. Later, in the next section we proceed to the analysis and discussion of the result obtained. Finally, we return to the most relevant points of each section, we relate them, we contrast them and we reflect on the information that the survey yielded and in this way we reach the conclusions.

Teachers’ Opinions on a Teaching-Learning Models During the Covid-19’s Pandemic 新冠肺炎大流行时期教师对教学模式的看法

The purpose of the study was to analyze teachersâ opinions about teaching-learning models during the COVID-19 pandemic, describe and interpret those opinions. The research design used was a mixed method. In the first phase, we worked with a case study with an interpretive methodological approach. In the second phase, a quantitative descriptive statistical analysis was performed to explain the relationships found in the qualitative data. The study subjects were 318 teachers (167 women and 151 men). One of the results was the hybrid educational model indicator, this indicator held the highest percentage (24.58%) above distance education and face-to-face/ traditional education. The hybrid educational-model was an effective educational modality during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic because even when teachers and students faced obstacles in their daily work, they finished the courses with this modality.

Toward Improving Attention Levels in Mathematics learning with Serious Games 利用严肃游戏提高数学学习的注意力水平

Attention problems cause numerous errors and inconsistent performance in mathematical calculations; some of the problems related to inattention are manifested among others in low counting capacity. Serious games encourage the development of mathematical skills. In this work, we applied the first level of a serious game that includes 8 civilizations in a timeline for learning different math concepts. We worked with the Prehistoric Civilization that includes the concept of counting. The game was applied to 41 children between 6 and 12 years old in a public school in the south of Puebla City. Their attention levels were measured employing a headset which allows the measurement of brain waves, at the same time data regarding the gender, age, behavior, and mood were obtained. This study allowed us to corroborate how the game impacted the children’s attention during its execution.

Arabic Sentiment Analysis Problems and Challenges 阿拉伯语情感分析的问题和挑战

Arabic Sentiment Analysis (ASA) has obtained a great interest from the research community with the increasing interest in social media. This is thanks to a large variety of helpful applications that can be derived from analyzing sentiments. Although there are various tools that were created to select opinions, they can be only utilized for other languages. This presents the necessity for providing more attention to ASA research domain. For that reason, this detailed study tries to explore the problems and challenges of analyzing Arabic sentiments contents. This detailed study can be considered as a valuable step toward defining great solutions for ASA research field. In addition, presenting these problems and challenges may encourage researchers to participate more in this research field, make more improvements and gain the great results in various domains especially in the field of education.

This is thanks to a large variety of helpful applications that can be derived from analyzing sentiments. Although there are various tools that were created to select opinions, they can be only utilized for other languages. This presents the necessity for providing more attention to ASA research domain. For that reason, this detailed study tries to explore the problems and challenges of analyzing Arabic sentiments contents. This detailed study can be considered as a valuable step toward defining great solutions for ASA research field. Title: The importance of Internal and External Evaluation in Health Science Distance Education Postgraduate Studies Master of Science in Adolescent Health University Center of Health Sciences, University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Objective: To continuously evaluate the Master of Science in Adolescent Health, both internally and externally to achieve a good level of quality and be socially relevant. Method: The 66 students and graduates of the Master’s Degree in Adolescent and Youth Health Sciences participated in this study and the quality evaluation criteria of the national census of quality postgraduate courses were used, as well as those established in the General Postgraduate Regulation of the University of Guadalajara. Result: Almost ninety percent of the participants are women, the average age is 34 years old, the external evaluators accredited the postgraduate course, arguing that the subject is very valuable, and the terminal efficiency has been improving until reaching 82.5% in the last generation. Conclusions: It is necessary to continue evaluating the postgraduate course, because the external evaluation has allowed us to obtain more scholarships for our students and this has contributed to increase the terminal efficiency, and with the internal and external evaluation we will be able to reach greater quality and social relevance, as well as recognition at national and international level.
