The inclusion of technology in the teaching and learning processes in Higher Education has always posed difficulties. The pandemic caused by COVID19 has forced the use of technology to maintain emergency remote teaching, but it has also helped to give a boost to the aforementioned aspect. This paper presents a project carried out at the UPV/EHU (Spain) for the progressive inclusion of technology in a pedagogical model based on active and cooperative methodologies. This project contributes to the development of the digital teaching competence of university teachers and the development of professional skills based on autonomy, responsibility and critical decision-making by students.

Increasing data capacity using a circular array antenna for 5G applications 使用圆形阵列天线为5G应用增加数据容量

The fifth generation mobile communications system actually is the most important subject in the telecommunication research. As the 5G network is way too faster, learning can be done easily between a larger number of students irrespective of their current location, to find the solutions to the different difficulty of the high frequency. A design of three different array antennas is presented in this paper. The design is done for ku band applications at 16 Ghz, the substrate height is 1.6 mm and the dielectric constant is 4.4 of flame resistant (FR4 epoxy). Simulation is done in high frequency structure simulator (HFSS) and the results are exhibited, directivity, gain, radiation patterns, 3dB beam widths and radiation efficiency are analyzed in detail. Also, an electromagnetic band gap(EBG) structure was used and analyzed with the last design which shows an increase in directivity and gain.

Leading the educational response during the COVID-19 pandemic: The perspective from an online campus 新冠肺炎大流行期间教育应对的引领:基于网络校园的视角

The early spring of 2020 began with an extraordinary change for all members of the higher education community of institutions worldwide. A new severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the strain of coronavirus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been spreading rapidly (World Health Organization, 2020). In the early days of March 2020, institutions of higher education worldwide began a sudden closure of face-to-face instruction to transition to remote teaching. This transition occurred in a matter of days, disrupting educational and administrative operations. The rapid spread pandemic caught many at colleges and universities by surprise and triggered the implementation of strategies to provide continuity of instruction (Morales, 2019). From faculty training to course creation and from student support to the creation of on-the-fly work from home policies (WFH). The abrupt change also brought to the surface the relevance of training, support systems, and academic continuity planning at an institution serving more than 100,000 students annually. The paper examined the role an online campus, part of a college system that operates predominantly face-to-face, played in the transition of faculty to remote educational and operational services during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Educational emergence answer to COVID-19: a case of study on families 新冠肺炎教育应急对策:以家庭为例

This article presents an exploratory study on the response of families to the educational emergency resulting from the interruption of face-to-face classes by COVID-19. The main results of the study show that the families in the Canary Islands had enough digital competence and that they have adapted satisfactorily to this new educational modality with the involvement of the teaching staff.
本文对家庭应对因新冠肺炎疫情导致的面授中断的教育紧急情况进行了探索性研究。研究的主要结果表明,加那利群岛的家庭具有足够的数字能力,并且在教学人员的参与下,他们已经令人满意地适应了这种新的教育模式。

In recent years, artificial intelligence has been involved in the field of education in order to discover new knowledge about students and to improve educational environments. Machine learning, and more specifically data mining, is one of the most successful areas of artificial intelligence for educational data mining. In this study, we propose an advanced parameter optimization strategy based on deep learning model to predict students’ performances for an e-learning platform operated by Abdelmalk Essaadi University.

Gender gap perceptions of computing students: a case study in two Spanish universities 计算机专业学生的性别差异认知:两所西班牙大学的案例研究

Reducing the gender gap is one of the main challenges that society is facing. Equality, not only of women but of different gender identities, is one of the European Union's priorities, as well as of a large part of the developed countries. In particular, in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), the gender gap is visible both in the academic and professional fields. In higher education, according to the Women in Digital Scoreboard, in Europe, only 17% of ICT specialists are women. This Figure is lower in Spain, with only 16%. According to the Ministry of Education in Spain, the percentage of women in computer science studies in 2018-2019 was 12.93%. This study aims to analyze the perception of computing students concerning the gender gap in computer science studies. In particular, the study was carried out in two Spanish universities located in different regions (N=95).

The time variable “T” has been rarely used in educational research, and when it has been, it has been limited to seeing it as a linear, almost immovable sequence. In this work we present a new vision on how to contemplate the time variable “T” in training, both in the online and face-to-face modes, and to mark the parallels with other sciences such as physics when time was included in the theory of relativity. In the future, time will be one of the factors that will be most taken into account when designing training programs.

COVID-19 disease caused an out-breaking with implications in citizens’ private and public life. Face-to-face higher education had to adapt their lectures abruptly to a remote emergency mode. In this situation, both methodological and technological decisions had a principal role in closing the 2019-2020 academic course successfully. In this paper, the strategic decisions of the University of Salamanca (Spain) at the institutional level are summarized, taking into account not only the principal goal of ending a contingency situation but focusing on how to face the 2020-2021 academic course, in which one all the universities know that they will have to operate with the disease, but the uncertainty will be still present.

The objective of the study was to identify the attitude of Latin American Youth towards online security and privacy. It is a quantitative study through the implementation of a survey composed by 20 items to 1245 college students. The quantitative analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential statistics. Scientific Mapping of Flipped Learning and University Education in Web of Science Database Web of Science数据库中翻转学习的科学映射与大学教育

Education today requires the implementation of teaching and learning methodologies adapted to the characteristics of current students, methodologies among which is flipped learning. The evolution of this pedagogical model makes it necessary to know the trend in the scientific production of this pedagogical approach within university teaching. The objective of this research is focused on analyzing the concept of flipped learning, within the university educational environment, in the Web of Science (WoS) database. A bibliometric methodology has been carried out by searching titles, abstracts and keywords of the documents indexed in the aforementioned database, yielding a total of 804 results from the performance of a PRISMA-P protocol. These results were managed and analyzed using the Science Mapping Anaylsis Tool, as well as the VOS viewer utility.
