The Use of Affective and Cognitive Assessment on the Learning of Mirrors and Lenses through the Inquiry Laboratory Approach 探究实验室法在镜子和镜片学习中的情感和认知评估应用

This study aims to examine the use of affective and cognitive assesment on the learning of mirrors and lenses with inquiry laboratory approach. The research conducted by experimental design and involved 30 students of class VIII at one of secondary high school in Samarinda, Indonesia as research subjects. Quantitative data were collected using an observation sheet for affective assessment and an essay model test instrument for cognitive assessment. Affective aspects include receiving, responding, appreciating, managing, and characterizing. Cognitive aspects for the dimensions of knowledge include factual, conceptual, and procedural, while its cognitive processes include remembering, understanding, applying, and analyzing. The learning of mirrors and lenses were taught using the inquiry laboratory approach. The approach stage of inquiry laboratory includes observation, manipulation, generalization, verification, and application. The results showed a positive correlation between affective and cognitive abilities, students with high affective abilities showed high cognitive abilities too and vice versa. The findings showed that the inquiry laboratory approach helps increase the interest and motivation and helps students to understand the concepts of mirrors and lenses.
本研究旨在以探究性实验室的方法,检视情感与认知评估在镜子与镜片学习上的运用。本研究采用实验设计的方法,选取了印尼萨马林达一所中学八年级的30名学生作为研究对象。采用情感评估观察表和认知评估短文模型测试工具收集定量数据。情感方面包括接收、回应、欣赏、管理和特征化。知识维度的认知方面包括事实性、概念性和程序性,而其认知过程包括记忆、理解、应用和分析。镜子和透镜的学习采用探究实验室的方法进行。探究性实验室的方法阶段包括观察、操作、归纳、验证和应用。结果表明,情感能力与认知能力呈正相关,情感能力高的学生认知能力也高,反之亦然。研究结果表明,探究实验室方法有助于提高学生的兴趣和动机,并有助于学生理解镜子和透镜的概念。

Context of Science on Environmental Conservation: Comparative Study between Thai and Indonesian Novice Science Teacher Students 环境保护科学的背景:泰国与印尼初学自然科学教师学生的比较研究

Environmental conservation is now rapidly distributed into educational sector. Two prongs of development need to describe in science education. This study aimed to study context of science in which Thai and Indonesian novice science teacher students expresses to Baduy’s society. Seventy one of Indonesian and 95 of Thai novice science teacher students were surveyed in January-February 2018. Context of science of novice science teacher students were studied. Thai novice science teacher students had mean score higher than Indonesian novice science teacher students, but statistical testing revealed that there was no significantly differences at 0.05. The context of science Thai novice science teacher students had better than the context of science of Indonesian novice science teacher students but there is no significantly differences.

Dynamic and Static Modeling Embedded in Inquiry Learning to Improve Student’s Multiple Representation Ability 探究性学习中嵌入动态与静态建模提高学生多重表征能力

Integration of dynamic and static modeling on guided inquiry learning can help students to understand chemical concepts at macroscopic, symbolic and microscopic levels. This research aimed to examine and to explain the differences of students’ multiple representation ability that was taught by guided inquiry with dynamic and static modeling in redox reaction concept. This research used descriptive and quasi-experimental design. Data were analyzed using descriptive and manova statistics analysis. The results showed that the ability of students’ macroscopic level that was taught by guided inquiry with dynamic and static modeling is the same. While the student’s symbolic and microscopic level ability that was taught by guided inquiry with dynamic modeling higher than student’s ability that was taught by guided inquiry with static modeling. The implication of this research is chemistry learning with dynamic modeling can help students to construct chemical concept more easily and gain the complete understanding.

The aim of this study is examining the learning of Integrated Sciences through PCK based guided inquiry on prospective science teacher students. This research method was descriptive qualitative involving 33 science teacher students who taking Integrated Science 1 Subject in academic year 2016/2017. The research instrument used was the observation sheet to know the implementation PCK based guided inquiry. The results showed that the implementation of the activities of lecturer and science teacher students during the learning process using PCK based guided inquiry was very good conducted.
本研究旨在探讨准理科师范生透过基于PCK的引导探究学习综合科学的情况。本研究采用描述性定性方法,对33名2016/2017学年选修综合科学1学科的理科教师学生进行研究。研究工具为观察表,了解PCK的实施情况。结果表明,讲师和理科教师在学生学习过程中运用基于PCK的引导探究的活动实施得很好。

The process of science learning is very influential on students’ understanding. Uncertainty of students on various materials of science can cause various obstacles, such as students’ difficultyon understanding thelinkage material, as the result, unsuccesful on achieving the expected learning objectives. Efforts to improve the students’ understanding in learning process in order to avoid poor performance of student learning by using learning modules character educationoriented through Quantum Learning approach. The purpose of this research is to know the process of science learning by using learningmodule of character educationoriented through quantum learning approach on digestive system course in grade 5 at one of primary school at Padang, Indonesia. The type of this research is descriptive research. Data related to the implementation of learning derived from the process of science learning in the form of recording the learning process, interview guides, questionnaires and observation sheet on the implementation of learning. Data collection techniques refer to teacher performance appraisal instrument-2 (IPKG-2). Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the implementation of learning has not been referring to IPKG-2, but it has reached very good criteria (3.61) in grade 5 at one of primary school at Padang, Indonesia

The Effect of Web Enhanced Course (WEC) and Web Centric Course (WCC) towards Student Learning Results on Reproduction System Concept 网络强化课程(WEC)和网络中心课程(WCC)对学生学习结果对生殖系统概念的影响

Abstract Based on studies, many schools use e-learning web centric course (WCC) as an effort to improve student learning results. But in fact, WCC still has a lot of weaknesses. Therefore, this research was conducted for another e-learning which is based on web enhanced course (WEC) to overcome these WCC’s weaknesses. This study aimed to determine the effect of e-learning WCC and WEC for student learning results in grade XI in human reproduction system concept. The research methods used quasy experimental with non-equivalent group pretest posttest design and sample used 2 experimental groups that are WEC and WCC class in one of the high schools in Bandung with 30 students for each group which obtained by purposive sampling. Instruments used are multiple choice questions as the main data, questionnaires and interview guides as secondary data. Based on the result, average posttest for WEC is 81.90 and WCC is 69.96 with the hypothesis test result Z count =3.89 in the retained area for Z table =1.96. Based on these results, it can be conclude that there is learning effect of using e-learning WEC with WCC in students learning results in human reproductive system concept and using e-learning WEC can further increase student learning results when compared with WCC. Abstract Based on data from the observation of high school students grade XI that daily low student test scores due to a lack of role of students in the learning process. This classroom action research aims to improve learning outcomes and student motivation through discovery learning method in colloidal material. This study uses the approach developed by Lewin consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques used the questionnaires and ability tests end. Based on the research that results for students received a positive influence on learning by discovery learning model by increasing the average value of 74 students from the first cycle to 90.3 in the second cycle and increased student motivation in the form of two statements based competence (KD) categories (sometimes) on the first cycle and the first statement KD category in the second cycle. This classroom action research aims to improve learning outcomes and student motivation through discovery learning method in colloidal material. This study uses the approach developed by Lewin consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques used the questionnaires and ability tests end. Based on the research that results for students received a positive influence on learning by discovery learning model by increasing the average value of 74 students from the first cycle to 90.3 in the second cycle and increased student motivation in the form of two statements based competence (KD) categories (sometimes) on the first cycle and the first statement KD category in the second cycle. Thus the results of this study can be used to improve learning outcomes and student motivation. Abstract This research aims to know the influence of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) combined with peer tutoring toward learning achievement on human digestive system concept. This research was conducted at one of State Senior High School in South Tangerang in the academic year of 2016/2017. The research method was quasi experiment with nonequivalent pretest-postest control group design. The sample was taken by simple random sampling. The total of the sampels were 86 students which consisted of 44 students as a controlled group and 42 students as an experimental group. The research instrument was objective test which consisted of 25 multiple choice items of each pretest and posttest. The research also used observation sheets for teacher and students activity. The result of data analysis using t-test on the two groups show that the value of t count was 2.40 and t table was 1.99 on significant level α = 0,05, so that t count > t table.. This result indicated that there was influence of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) combined with peer tutoring toward learning achievement on human digestive system concept. 摘要本研究旨在了解情境教学与同伴辅导相结合对人类消化系统概念学习成就的影响。本研究于2016/2017学年在南坦格朗的一所州立高中进行。研究方法为准实验,采用非等效前测后对照组设计。样本采用简单随机抽样。样本总数为86名学生,其中对照组44名,实验组42名。研究工具为客观测验,包括前测和后测各25个选择题。该研究还使用了教师和学生活动的观察表。采用t检验对两组进行数据分析的结果显示,在显著水平α = 0.05下,t计数为2.40,t表为1.99,因此t表计数为>。结果表明,情境教学与同伴辅导相结合对消化系统概念学习成绩的影响。关键词:情境教学,同伴辅导,学习成就,人体消化系统

Abstract The aims of this study is to reveal metacognition and critical thinking skill of students grade XI, and also the correlation between metacognition with crititical thinking skill on human excretion system. The participants of this study consist of 100 students from grade XI of five different high schools in Tasikmalaya. Correlational method was used in this study. Instruments which used to obtain the data consist of metacognition test and critical thinking test. The students' metacognition was captured with the essay item related to the human excretion system concept. The multiple choice-reason item and essay item was used to capture the critical thinking skills. The results showed that students’ score at metacognition and critical thinking have a low average. The results also proved that metacognition has a positive correlation and moderately strong with critical thinking skills. Keywords: Metacognition, Critical Thinking Skills, Human Excretion System
摘要本研究旨在揭示XI年级学生的元认知和批判性思维能力,以及元认知与人类排泄系统批判性思维能力的相关性。这项研究的参与者包括来自Tasikmalaya五所不同高中XI年级的100名学生。本研究采用相关分析方法。用于获取数据的工具包括元认知测试和批判性思维测试。学生的元认知是通过与人类排泄系统概念相关的文章项目来捕捉的。选择题的理由项目和作文项目被用来捕捉批判性思维技能。结果表明,学生的元认知和批判性思维的平均得分较低。研究结果还表明,元认知与批判性思维能力呈正相关,且具有中等强度。关键词:元认知、批判性思维技巧、人类排泄系统

Abstract The aimed of this research is to know the result of student learning using jigsaw type cooperative learning. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK) with two research cycles. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 16 Bekasi class VIII.4. The results of the test in the first cycle is still less satisfactory with the number of students who completed 19 people or approximately 41.30% with an average value reached 75, while the minimum Exhaustiveness Criteria (KKM) in the SMP is 78. Improvements made for the implementation of cycle II. The result is obtained as many as 40 students or approximately 78.26% with the average value is 82. The Cooperative learning type jigsaw can improve student learning outcomes in SMP Negeri 16 Bekasi class VIII.4. Keywords: Learning outcomes, Cooperative Learning Type Jigsaw
