Development of Multimedia-Based Worksheets as a Teaching Material on Sub-Material of Invertebrates 无脊椎动物亚材料多媒体工作表教材的开发

The purpose of this study is to develop multimedia- based student worksheets in invertebrates sub materials and to describe both the response and scoring result of tenth grade students in Pontianak who learn to use the instructional materials. This research method is Research and Development. The development steps carried out are: 1) potential and problems, 2) information gathering, 3) product design, 4) design validation, 5) product design improvement and 6) product testing. In the product trial phase, a sample of 208 students was used. The validation from both material and media experts on multimedia- based student worksheets in invertebrate sub- materials was confirmed as valid. The student responses at schools with KTSP and curriculum 2013 on the use of multimedia- based student worksheets in Invertebrates sub material were in the fair positive and positive category. The average values obtained by students in schools that applied the KTSP and 2013 curriculum were 40.08 and 54.16 respectively. It was concluded that multimedia-based worksheets were appropriate to be used as teaching material in invertebrates sub material.

Kahoot as an Assessment Tools: Students' Perception of Game-based Learning Platform Kahoot作为评估工具:学生对游戏学习平台的认知

This study aims to determine students' perception of game-based learning platform as a learning evaluation medium. The approach used in this research is descriptive quantitative, and qualitative—the instrument used in the form of a questionnaire containing 22 questions and interviews. The research was conducted in two analytical chemistry classes at a public university in Indonesia. Researchers used Kahoot every two weeks over four months as a tool for formative assessment. Three students from each class were interviewed to explore their experiences and perceptions of Kahoot. Questionnaire data were processed using descriptive statistics, while data from interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings show that chemistry education students' perception of game-based learning platform as a learning evaluation medium is quite good. Students also perceived that Kahoot provided a challenge in learning. Kahoot is also a fun and exciting assessment medium for students. In addition, students feel that their learning motivation has increased in preparing the material to be tested, so direct feedback from Kahoot is very effective in correcting mistakes.

Challenges in STEM Learning: A Case of Filipino High School Students STEM学习中的挑战:以菲律宾高中生为例

STEM education faces monumental challenges which are aggravated by the Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0 and the current COVID-19 global contagion. These challenges also affect how students learn in the STEM discipline in the senior high school. This qualitative study employed a case research design which sought to investigate nature of the challenges in STEM learning among senior high school students in the Philippines. Semi-structured interview guide was used in gathering the qualitative data from the 20 STEM learners in a government-run secondary school in Zambales, Philippines. Findings showed that the students encountered challenges in the STEM program. Ten themes emerged based on the students' responses. These challenges encountered by the students revolved around three categories - course-related challenges, individual challenges and socio-cultural challenges. The study recommends that schools offering STEM academic strands may reframe and rethink their processes, practices and policies to address the students' challenges in STEM learning. Policy recommendations are also discussed in the paper to equip the students towards the demands of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and in the post-pandemic world.

Enhancing Students' High-Order Thinking Skills through STEM-Blended Learning on Kepler's Law During Covid-19 Outbreak 新冠疫情期间通过stem -混合学习开普勒定律提高学生高阶思维能力

This study aimed to examines the effectiveness of the implementation of STEM-Blended learning to enhance high school students' high-level thinking skills on Kepler law concept during covid-19 outbreak. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method. This study used two class groups including the experimental class and the control class. This study was conducted at one of high schools in Indonesia. The students' higher-order thinking skills for the experimental class was included in the medium category with a percentage of achievement of 75%. However, in the control class, it was included in the medium category with a rate of 61%. The results showed that there were significant differences between experimental and control classes with the value .0015 < 0.05, meaning that the implementation of STEM-Blended learning is effective to enhance high school students' high-level thinking skills on Kepler law concept. This findings will be usefull for the development of STEM Education during Covid-19 outbreak.

This research aims to determine the effect of blended learning with a collaborative problem-solving approach on students' cognitive learning outcomes and collaboration skills in science learning. This research is a quasi-experimental method using posttest-only control group design with a cluster random sampling technique. Data were obtained from the posttest scores and observation sheets. Using t-test calculation analysis, the results showed that there was a significant effect on the cognitive learning outcomes of experimental class students in the form of a significant increase after learning using blended learning with a collaborative problem-solving approach (tcount = 3.908 with a significance level of 5% dk = 62). The results of the experimental class collaboration skill observations show one indicator is in the “very good category”, and four indicators are in the “good category”, while in the control class there is only one indicator that is in the “good category” and four indicators are in the “bad category”. The results show that there is a significant effect of blended learning with a collaborative problem-solving approach on students' collaboration skills.

The Urgency of STEM Education in Indonesia STEM教育在印尼的紧迫性

Industry 4.0 and 21-century skills are quickly increasing and becoming more knowledgeable. In this century, the primary purpose of our educational system should be to prepare students to live in the world. STEM Education has garnered increasing attention in recent years, and it is important to comprehend STEM Education. Indonesia is one of the largest countries in Southeast Asia with a vast number of human resources that need to be developed. The purpose of this study was to investigate the urgency of STEM education in Indonesia within the scope of 21-century skill categories using the content analysis method, to investigate best practices of STEM education for teachers by investigating engineering design skills training, and to review the literature from 1990 to 2016 that has focused on the development of STEM education around the world. The data demonstrated that STEM Education has grown over the world and has a significant influence on students' idea comprehension, literacy, and creativity. Many studies show that the best strategy for science teachers is to incorporate STEM education. STEM is relevant to everyday life and improve student performance. These findings are important to be implemented in Indonesia for STEM Education implementation in Indonesia.

Examining High School Students’ Cognitive Structures on the Concept of Cleaning Agent through Word Association Test 用单词联想测验考察高中生对清洁剂概念的认知结构

The aim of this research is to determine high school students’ cognitive structure regarding cleaning agent via word association test. The sample of the research consists of 160 high school students. A word association test (WAT) prepared to test the structure addressed in the study was used as the data collection tool. Content analysis was used to evaluate the data obtained from the sample group. Words written by high school students in relation to the test were analyzed elaborately and based on this analysis concepts were categorized as well as their frequency. As for the first section of the word association test, three main categories were obtained: Chemical cleaning agent, natural cleaning agent, and cleaning equipment. When it comes to the second part, the highest frequency values were in the category of chemical cleaning agent, natural cleaning agent category, cleaning equipment category. All in all, it was concluded that the natural cleaning agent category had the highest frequency, the chemical cleaning agent category was in the second place, and the cleaning equipment category had the lowest frequency.

Words written by high school students in relation to the test were analyzed elaborately and based on this analysis concepts were categorized as well as their frequency. As for the first section of the word association test, three main categories were obtained: Chemical cleaning agent, natural cleaning agent, and cleaning equipment. When it comes to the second part, the highest frequency values were in the category of chemical cleaning agent, natural cleaning agent category, cleaning equipment category. The Influence of the Scientific-Based Self-Regulated (SBSR) Bilingual Module in Improving Students’ Knowledge 基于科学的自我调节(SBSR)双语模块对学生知识提升的影响

The objectives of this study were 1) to find out whether there was an influence of the learning of the scientific-based self-regulated (SBSR) bilingual module in improving the cognitive abilities of the tenth grade students of Biology subjects, and 2) to find out how the percentage comparison of the influence between the learning of scientific-based selfregulated (SBSR) bilingual module class with conventional learning class in improving cognitive of the tenth grade students of Biology subjects. The research method used the quasi-experimental using the non-equivalent control group design. The data was analyzed through paired sample t test and omega index. The results of this study showed that 1) there was an increase in cognitive ability of the tenth grade students through the use of the learning of scientific-based self-regulated (SBSR) bilingual module on Biology subject. 2) There was an increase in cognitive ability of the tenth grade students through the conventional learning on Biology subject, and 3) the percentage of SBSR bilingual module influence was higher (60%) compared with conventional learning class with discovery learning influence (4.7%) in improving students' cognitive.
本研究的目的是:1)了解科学型自我调节双语模块的学习是否对十年级生物学科学生认知能力的提高有影响;2)比较科学型自我调节(SBSR)双语模块课与常规学习课对提高十年级学生生物学科认知能力的影响百分比。研究方法采用准实验法,采用非等效对照组设计。采用配对样本t检验和omega指数对数据进行分析。本研究结果表明:1)通过科学本位自我调节(SBSR)双语模块的生物学科学习,十年级学生的认知能力得到了提高。(2)通过生物学科的常规学习,十年级学生的认知能力有所提高;(3)在提高学生认知能力方面,SBSR双语模块的影响比例(60%)高于常规学习班的发现学习影响(4.7%)。

Using Information Search Strategy to Reconstruct Students' Biology Prior Knowledge 运用信息检索策略重构学生生物学先验知识

This study aimed to determine changes in students' prior knowledge of preconception reconstruction results using information-seeking strategies in learning. A total of 26 student-teacher candidates at an Islamic university in Surabaya, East Java, were involved voluntarily in this survey research. At the beginning of the lecture, students take part in the pre-test, learning using information searching strategies for seven weeks, and post-test at the end of the lecture. Data analysis was performed using content analysis and t-test understanding analysis to determine changes in student preconceptions. The results showed that there were very significant differences in students' understanding of science due to conceptual changes after learning using information searching strategies. The percentage of students who maintained correct preconceptions was greater than those with incorrect preconceptions. That is what changes the preconception from false to true. The implication is that information searching can help students make decisions to maintain or change their preconceptions.
